Weekend Recap

Friday:
I got of work early because I started early and Brooke had a concert at 4 pm so I wanted to get of for that, they did an amazing job

Brooke and Signa

Brooke and Olivia
This was at a broadway summer camp, they did a concert at the end, it was amazing, I need to figure out how to upload videos

Then after the concert we drove 2 hours, to celebrate this beautiful couple
Mr and Mrs Anson Brewer

Brooke and the flower girl who was stunningly beautiful

I love this girl.
Then I found THE girl
I am in the middle of the 2 sweetest girls I have ever had the opportunity of knowing ( my 2 daughters), well one is my own flesh and blood, the other is my adopted daughter, she use to live with us, then found her a cute texan and moved to Ontario, they got married last weekend....
She came to my house for the night last night, we stayed up late, chatted, hugged, cried and I was to excited to sleep:)

I love this kiddo as well, was so good to see her

Saturday:
We slept in because of the incredibly late night we had but it was worth it, we went to brunch, went and did some tourist things like a tour of the government house

We dropped her of at the airport for 6 pm, it was a quick but beautiful 24 hours with my sweet friend.

I made a spicy buffalo chicken dip for us for dinner after we did some grocery shopping and some lawn work.

Sunday:
We had service as usual.. then we had a pot luck meal for a leadership meeting, it was a nice time.
After PM service a couple of us ( 11 or so) went out to a Italian food spot, it was delicious.
We met a new friend Sam- she is all kinds of cool and it was nice to meet her.

Have a great week <3

Fear

For some time now this topic has been on my mind, I was going to Instagram about it, but it never felt right, I have started to write about it a couple times but it never gets posted, but tonight I am sitting in my room in my "writing chair" and I am going to write this out.

I know a lot of women who struggle with it because I get emails from people about my marriage blog and they ask me to write about fear in marriage etc, so I know as women it is a topic that we cannot take lightly, a topic that is hard to write about because as much as you would like to think that my little life is perfect ( I am told this in emails), my life is not perfect because I live with a lot of fear.

I live in fear of the unknown, I hate it so much when I have to do something and be somewhere but I do not have very laid out plans for said event, it gives me a anxiety/fear that takes over and I think about the ‘what if’s’ , or the why’s, or who will be there, will there be anyone there that just won’t be nice to me…

I live in fear of road trips, I love going places, last summer we had a 3 1/2 week across USA road trip and I had so much peace while I was gone,  I slept a lot in the car but this past weekend we had a road trip 2 hours away for a wedding, going there it was pretty good because it was not yet dark, coming home it was dark and I was crippled with a fear, it got to the point of making me nauseated, thankfully my husband can pick up on this and he will talk to me about anything at all, anything to take my mind of my fear.

I am terrified of transport trucks, I do not like passing them or they passing me, another reason why I do not have my drivers license…

I live in fear of losing Andrew or Brooke- I do not ever want to live without them, I do not know how some people does it, when hey lose a spouse or a child.

I live in fear at work- you can laugh at this if you like because it does sound silly but when my managers phone rings at work I always think it is a call about me, something I did wrong, someone calling to complain about me.. this is true, it is hard to deal with.

There are some things that I have found helps me and I have no idea if these things will work for you but here they are:

1) Pray- Jesus is the peace maker he can calm your fearful mind and heart, even if you do not know what to pray just talk to him as you would a friend.

2) Quote scripture- I have a notebook that holds some verses that helps me thru anxiety attacks, but they also help me when I am fearful

3) Find someone to talk to- I talk to my husband and sometimes the topics are so  random that it probably makes him feel crazy but it helps me so he is a good man.

4) Write- write out your fears, and then write why you have that fear- if you try to find a reason why you are fearful like e.g.: road trips if you think you are in fear driving in the car because you are scared of a car accident, think about why you are scared of car accidents, have you ever been involved in one?

5) Try to find a reason why you should not have this fear- have you ever lost a job because you did something wrong, have you ever had a car accident etc etc?

Fear can take over your life, fear can ruin marriages, it can ruin lives, we need to find a way to get rid of the fear that takes over our lives

I am willing to chat with you over this at any time, feel free to email me ( terrigrothe@gmail.com) or leave me a comment and I will get in touch with you

Fear is hard, I know that, I struggle with it daily, I try so hard to work on it because fear is not healthy, it can cause depression and anxiety, so please do not struggle alone with your fears.

The Tea that works - FitTea Review

"Give us a few weeks and we'll give you a new waistline".

I am about to share with you, something you may not heard about it is
It is All Naturel, Relaxing and great tasting and it reduces appetite, wanna know more continue reading

You’re about to discover a WORLDWIDE health secret that you may have never heard about… UNTIL NOW

I am an avid drinker of sugar filled drinks, drinks that does more harm then good for you, I was looking for something to detox this body with, that same day I was contacted to do a review fro FitTea... it arrived not long after...
I was expecting to find loose tea, and would need to go out and buy a defuser but no they are individual tea bags, I was excited to begin...

I am 5 days in and I already feel so  much better, my FitTea results are already after 5 days- 4 lbs and 2 inches, and I will also do an update when I am all done the 28 days and let you know how it goes because i fully believe in their motto "Give us a few weeks and we'll give you a new waistline".

Not only is it good for detox, but I found I had a lot more energy which makes sense bc it was ridding my body of the bad toxins etc that the other beverages have left behind...

It has some great ingredients in it such as: Organic Green Tea, Oolong Wu Yi, Organic Rooibos, Ginger, Pomegranate, Guarana, Birch, Stevia, Corn and Honey Powder.
These ingredients provide a fast-working and natural detox. These natural ingredients have other benefits besides detox, which includes weight loss, increased energy levels, suppressing the appetite, and natural antioxidants.

Natural teas like FitTea have been used all over the world for thousands of years for weight loss and increased energy which helps anyone with a fitness program.
This tea
-boosts immune system
-Promotes fat burning
-Promotes and soothes digestion
-Antimicrobial properties
all things we all want and need.

There are so many diet pills, wraps,  and I am not bad mouthing any of these things because they all have a place, but this tea is tasty, cheap and it really works.. you can do a detox as often as you like, I know this will be finding a place in my house at all times, I am already ordering another package because when you get results like this you know it works, you will love the taste and the results will even taste better for you.
This tea will help you build that solid immune system, do you know that when you allow all this sugar that I was referring to up there in soda's etc, it is breaking down your immune system slowly but over time you will find you will get more colds, flu's etc, the first few days I started the tea I was getting over a cold, once I started it I got better so fast because it was providing me with things my body was lacking, things that make you even happier..

I was feeling so tired by 2 pm at work, then I started drinking this tea and there was no such thing as feeling tired by 2 pm,I would also go for a long walk on my lunch break because I had the energy to do that, before the tea it was not a thing, you would find me in the lunch room sitting playing on my phone, drinking a soda..now you won't  simply because it gave me more energy, it cleans the digestive system out, it takes away the bloating which of course leads along with helping the digestive system. Also, there is no bad after taste or that dry mouth feeling that some detox things leave.  It give you the will power to continue to stay healthier after the detox.

In my tea I didn't add sugar, I added a little bit of honey and it was so delicious, it makes me happy in the morning to wake up and run to the kitchen and get my tea and start my day

To be honest I have no cons on this product, the company delivered as they said, the results are as I was told, it taste great and gives me energy along with weight loss, I mean come on, it is just great.

Are you interested in some, you can find it here . There are different packages you can get..
a 14 day detox for $25
a 28 day detox for $45
or a fit tea super pack for $120- this one gives you so much stuff.  in this one you receive Fit tea fat burner, Garcinia Cambogia, 28 Day Detox package,Free Forskolin

If you wanna read more reviews, follow the #fittea

I was gifted this tea for my honest review of the product.

Wife talk

19 WAYS TO SPICE UP YOUR MARRIAGE

Just remember if you want your kids to treat their spouse good, teach them at a young age.

1. KISS EACH OTHER
It's one of the most intimate things you can do with your clothes on and will help to maintain and build up the romantic bond between you
2. LEAVE NOTES FOR EACH OTHER
Get a pack of sticky notes and write little messages you can leave where your loved one will find them. We're not talking about ones that say: “Remember to take out the trash.”
3. GO AWAY TOGETHER
Sometimes, it takes some distance and time together to remind you how much you love and enjoy each other's company. Get someone to look after the kids and get away for a night or weekend, where you can just do fun things together that you can never do at home.
4. CUT THE POWER
Imagine that the juice is cut off for a night. This means no TV, no phones, no computer … instead just you, your partner, some candles and see where it leads.
5. COOK YOUR FAVORITE MEALS
They say the way to a man's heart is through his stomach. Well, maybe it's not quite that easy, but cooking his favorite food shows how much you care.
6. GO ON A DATE
Find out about each other again - tell each other stories about when you were young. This will remind you what you used to see in each other.
7. TALK TO EACH OTHER
Turn off the TV and have a chat. Talk about stuff that you both like - films, books, cooking, gardening, DIY, anything as long as you talk. Communication is one of the biggest parts of a relationship and not talking will cause you problems.
8. SAY THANK YOU
We show gratitude to strangers and people we work with all the time, but it's easy to forget to do the same for our partners. A small gesture of thanks, whether it's saying thank you for emptying the cat litter, cooking a nice meal or just for being there goes an awfully long way.
9. MAKE TIME
We all have busy lives and even evenings can be taken up with lots of chores or work. So try to spend just 10 minutes alone together every day to find out what each of you have been up to.
10. SEND A CARD
Communication doesn't necessarily have to mean talking. Write down some heartfelt words in a card and then mail it the old fashion way. We all know how much we like getting cards or letters, rather than bills.
11. HAVE FUN TOGETHER
Remind yourselves what you used to enjoy doing before you got bogged down in the humdrum nature of life together. Play games together, go out walking - do whatever it was that used to make you feel alive and happy.
12. LISTEN
Talking is obviously important, but listening is just as vital. If one of you has something they need to say (no matter how trivial it seems), then the other really needs to listen to them properly and, if necessary, do something to change.
13. PLAN DATES
Knowing that you have a special date coming up (even months ahead) can be good for both of you. These dates can be specific events, such as birthdays, anniversaries, or simply evenings you set aside.
14. SAY "I LOVE YOU"
Those three words are often forgotten as relationships progress, but said properly, they mean so much. In fact, you don't even need to say them … send a text, email, etc.
15. COMPLIMENT ONE ANOTHER
Tell the other one how good they look, how nice a shirt or top looks, or guys, tell her you like her shoes. Compliments make everyone feel better.
16. LAUGH
Humor is good for your health anyway, and sharing jokes with each other makes for a better bond. Rent a favorite comedy DVD, look at old photos of yourselves... anything that will tickle your funny bones.
17. MAKE LOVE MORE OFTEN
The more time you spend together in the bedroom, the better it will be for your relationship.
18. FORGET THE PAST
This means silly arguments or things where one of you may have done or said something they now regret. Move forward and concentrate on your future together. By harboring resentment, you will never be able to move on with your relationship.
19. WORK AS A TEAM
Don't blame each other for things that may have gone wrong. Admit to mucking up and try to use it as a positive thing and move on. No one is at fault for everything, and no one can do everything perfectly, either. Once you realize this, you will hopefully begin to work together as a team. ~Unknown

5 WORDS THAT WILL MAKE YOUR LOVE-LIFE SIZZLE

Sex should be a part of your marriage, it makes everything better ;)

1) VARIETY - When it comes to your sex-life, don't always do everything the same way every time. The word “boring” or "routine" should never be a part of your sex life.
2) FREQUENCY - It is impossible to say how much is enough, that all depends on the couple. The main thing is making sure you and your spouse are on the same page when it comes to frequency.
3) BE ENGAGED - Your spouse does not want you to be passive but wants you to enjoy things as well. Don’t see sex as a job or obligation, but as a privilege.
4) COMMUNICATION - Talk to your spouse about what you like and don’t like in the bedroom.
5) PRIVACY - Privacy should be a priority, so put a lock on your bedroom door, and then find some time to sneak off together. Also, understand that it's okay to schedule sex, and then fight to keep that date.

Weekend Recap

Friday:
I worked til 5- it felt like such a long day to me, I was training so I find those days go super slow.
Hubby got pizza for dinner and we went home, my back was aching from sitting in a different chair at work... so I laid down to rest. Hubby and I went to clean the Pastor's house while they are away on vacation, we painted the house thru, did a facelift to the bathroom, I should have taken before and after pictures. I hope they like the surprise when they get home.
I read this book and you can see the review here

I have not been around the blog much this week because I am so exhausted having a head cold and a very sore throat doesn't help my energy level.

Saturday
Hubby was away at a developer conference for the day, we were gonna hang out at home, clean and do laundry..
well laundry got done but that is about it.
One of the girls from Brooke's class and her grandma invited us to hang out for the day, we went to the mall because they wanted a new bathing suit.  We went to Jungle Jims for dinner- it is a mexican kinda place, it was good food.
We went to get ice cream and headed to the park to visit and it was so nice, I am also slightly addicted to this:
Vanilla flavor iced coffee, I have never had anything better

Sunday:
It was our Pastor's last service - I was so emotional- it is gonna be hard to have them leave us.
We had a meeting for 12:20, we couldn't find the location so we were late, we were there about an hour ( i cannot share details just yet).. Brooke had her voice recital today

My two kiddos

Hope you had a great weekend <3

Book Review- Stronger

I have read a lot of books in my life, I like to think of myself as a reader, I like to read a lot of books.

This book is one of the top 5 books I have ever read,  I read it in several hours, I neglected my house, laundry and everything else, when i started it there was no stopping me..

In this book Kathy shares her heart, it is more then someone sharing her heart, she is encouraging women and men to continue going when times are tough because it will make you stronger.
Sh has inspired me to be more positive, to smile more, eat more cake, be with family and love Jesus.

She shares the scary times of her life going thru divorce, heart surgery, The happy time when she was taking care of her kids after their bus wreck, the fun stories from her grand kids and when shemarried her Steve.

She will have you laughing and crying oat the same time, I don’t think iI could have remained as positive as she has in this book.  She has gone thru a hard time in her life, she shares so much with us.

She also had me craving cake, she thinks every day is a good day for cake and I agree with her, cake can fix anything.

You may have heard of her singing family- The Crabb family- they are my absolute favourite in christian music.

I am in love with this family and after reading this, I am more in love with them and their beautiful attitudes after all they have dealt with and gone thru.

You need to read this book, you can purchase it here

Leaving a legacy

I was doing some thinking lately and I think our goals as christians should be when we die:

I want the least expensive coffin on the market. Do not waste precious dollars on a fancy box that is just going in the ground, I was frugal in life, I have a reputation to protect

Bury me in a size 8, maybe something with lace or sequins or even better lace and sequins. I realize you will have to cut it open and drape it over me, but please bury me in a size 8

Send money- don't send flowers. Instead have a meal with someone you love and tell stories about our good times together. Feel free to have tacos, chocolate and American sweet tea to remember me by.

And here is the best part, I want these words said

I want my daughter to say " My mom was a woman of integrity, she lived at home like she lived in private"

I want my husband to say " Terri treated me with dignity and respect and made me want to be my best self, she made me proud to her a man"

I want my neighbours to say " She shared her veggies and flowers with us, our kids always had a safe place to play at her house, she loved our kids, and she loved her church, she invited me to come every time I talked to her|

I want my friends to say " Terri always told me the truth, it wasn't what I wanted until hear, and I didn't always agree with her, but she always had my best at heart."

I want my bank account to say " She always paid her tithe and gave generously to the kingdom of God"

I want orphaned/abandoned children to say " she shared with us when we were cold, hurting and hungry"

I want my bible to say ' she slap wore me out"

I want my computer, cell phone, debit card and mailbox to say " She served Christ with me, first and her self second"

I want my house to say " I heard her pray every day and watched her make disciples of Christ of her children right here within my walls. She made me a holy place "

and I want it all to be true.

So, like I said, I'm planning my funeral every day. Every time I plan a meal, every time I pay my tithe, every time I open the door to a child, a neighbour, or friend. Every time I reach for my bible ( when pinterest is calling my name)Every time I choke back a sarcastic reply and choose a gracious one instead. Every time I stifle my irritation and serve with humility, as unto the Lord and not to men.

For when my voice has ceased to speak, when my words echo in the hearts of my children. When my prayers have ceased to be breathed, they still fan the flames in the souls of those I have loved. When my fingers stiffen and are folded into eternal stillness, my life will still touch those I leave behind, I'll be gone, but I'll be here.

I'm planning my funeral, are you?

Wife talk

Husbands, your wives need you to ...
1. GIVE UNEXPECTED SURPRISES. Your wife loves unexpected surprises you give them. An occasional unexpected small gift, her favorite candy, flowers, come home from work early for some quality time or surprise her with a romantic night out. Consider some weekend morning greeting her with breakfast in bed when she wakes up or fix her favorite meal and clean up after yourself. Unexpected surprises aren't just for Valentine's Day ... do them all the time.
2. ARRANGE THINGS WELL. If you take your wife out (and you should do this regularly), you make all the plans. Get reservations at a restaurant she likes, you line out the babysitter and then tell her what time to be ready.
3. DO THE LITTLE THINGS. Women love it when their husbands take time to do the little things. Like giving her your full attention when she's talking about work, the kids or anything else going on in her life. Make her, and what she's got to say, more important than your phone, a ballgame or anything else. Give her quality time.
4. TAKE AN INTEREST IN HER INTERESTS. Try to find out the thing that your wife always loves to do and agree to do it together on a weekend. AND IF YOU DO, try to honestly enjoy it without complaining
