Friday:
Last day of work, glad the weekend is ever!
I had a lunch date with a beautiful friend, we had chinese food, it was nice to see her, she is one of my old co workers.
I got a call from my brother around 4 pm advising me to call home immediately, well I called and he had to give me the news that my mom was in a car accident in which she totalled the car, she had some bumps and bruises but she is a lucky person to still be with us, she had angels with her that day.
I left at 5:45 for Ladies Conference.
It was a beautiful first night- the speaker was a lady from Texas- she spoke on as women we need to let things go more, it is so true, why is it that women keep things bottled up inside
I love being a part of the Atlantic District Ladies Ministries

Some of the people, it was a sold out event, and it can seat 600- it don't look like a lot here, but there was people all around me

I love the decor- there were shoes on all those white tables on the stage- they were gorgeous shoes #imayhaveownedsome

Wednesdays for Women- Week 3- Peace

{To Inspire and Encourage}

For the next few weeks I want to share a little study about the Fruit of the Spirit.

Week Three: PEACE

Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.

Since I have been diagnosed with IC, ( although I find out it was a misdiagnosis, read about it under my IC story on the home page)
I have had to make a lot of visits to the Emergency room..

The nurses and the doctors have been GREAT to me, incredible really..

that is until Jan 7th when I left work to go there because the pain was so incredibly bad..
I waited 5 hours in the emergency waiting room, I have never had to do that before, they normally take me right in and get me settled in a bed because it helps the pain..
after waiting for 5 hours, I got a room...
the Nurse was a male ( Nothing against male nurses), he came in asked some medication questions, updated the list etc...

then he looked at me and said:
"You have been here 16 times in the last 6 months"- I was taken aback... why Yes I have been because I do not have a family doctor here , he then said... you know you are wasting our time because there is nothing we can do for you...
I was shocked, i had no idea what to say to him, so I said Trust me, it isn't my idea to come here that much,  I have other things that I would much rather be doing then waiting it out here...
he then left the room, came in with medication and was giving me a look, loud sighs, it was evident he had no desire to be at work that night..
I did not say anything to him that night because I was in so much pain and just not in the mood to argue...

I saw my urologist a few days later who informed me I need to submit a letter to the hospital administrator, so I got the contact info ...
But
I never did send the letter..

Well why, you may ask..

I prefer to keep the peace...

a few weeks back I had a situation at work ( still at my old job) , where something I said was taken out of context and blown out of proportion and things got really ugly between me and another employee... but ya know what..
I kept the peace, in fact i with drew myself from conversations,  I didn't talk a lot at all, people knew why, they didn't like this Terri, but after a week things worked them selves out, things are all good between this person and I now..
I kept the peace

what about you? Do you enjoy causing a fight, winning an argument, get the last words in, say nasty ugly words in hope that it will make this person to lash back at you....
I always go to the person and apologize for it, even if I know I did nothing wrong, to them I did, so an apology helps the situation.

We live in a very violent world, imagine how great the world would be, if we are wanted to be a peace maker, give up the wars, fightings, to be honest I am so tired of the news about sorrow and pain.

Yet we are called to be peacemakers. Fundamentally, choosing to be peacemakers is an act of trust.

  1. Make Peace not War

You can tell me anything, anytime.

You don’t have to have the newest or priciest things.I adore you.
Your virtue is precious. Save yourself for your husband.
Always be gracious. Your level of gratitude reveals your character.

WEEKEND RECAP

FRIDAY:
LAST DAY OF YEAR END
Yes, I am yelling that, it was very good to know I survived my first year end season at work, today we went out for poutine for lunch, I had a BBQ chicken poutine
I really enjoy the ladies I work with, they are so fun and easy to talk to.

We dropped Brooke of at a friends house for the night because they have a quizzing tournament on Saturday and we can't make it because we have a very busy day..

I took a little nap.. had a rough 2 nights previously, found out I have a kidney stone so some of my pain was from that.

Had to go to the church after to begin setting up for Saturday's dinner- once per year we put on a big dinner for some surrounding churches and community, this year we are doing:
Ham dinner with veggies and a Kentucky Ginger cake for dessert, I am excited to see how it turns out, I came home and cooked 2 ham's, and made 2 cakes.
Watched some more Heartland and went to bed.

SATURDAY:
The alarm went off way to early for a Saturday morning, no one should see the clock before 11 am on a Saturday ;)

I got to the church to help the decorator, she ( Pastor’s wife) did a yellow/black theme and it looked absolutely amazing as you can see in the below pic ..
we served nearly 100 people a ham dinner-
ham, mashed potatoes, corn, peas, cole slaw and rolls, it was a beautiful meal, for dessert we had Kentucky Ginger cake with whipping cream, it was delicious, for the most part things went well, i love being the hospitality coordinator and so relieved when things run smoothly.

We got home around 5 pm, i had to take a nap because I had a pounding headache, everyone worked so hard to make this a success.

SUNDAY
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY BEST FRIEND, LOVE YOU ASH

Went to morning service where I watched as a dear friend received his spirit, I was so glad to be a part of it.
Made roast beef, mashed potatoes, veggies and bread rolls
Took a little nap, my girlie looked like a teenager today...

That does it for another weekend around here :)
