Hey, It's okay

Feel free to link up to this fun post over here

It's ok that I am ready for hockey to be done, I always get frustrated this time of year because my team is usually out and I have no idea who to be cheering for.

I am glad my baby girl is back home, I miss her when she is away. The time alone with hubby is always nice but I am glad when she is back

that I am sitting here in a spotlessly clean house and so proud of myself

PS: So many thanks to Eva from fearnecreativedesign (ETSY) for my new look. I am so in love with it. it is fresh and clean and easy to read :) Thank you so much, check her out if you want a new look

Marriage Quote of the week

Pet peeve!!

Thankful for this blog.
Some days I have thoughts that I would like to share and get advice etc but the minute I share things on Facebook- someone is calling me and asking me what is wrong.. etc..

There don't always have to be some thing "wrong". I am female after all and we have thoughts and feelings and there do not have to be a reason with it.

Like yesterday I was feeling so down because my daddy got bad news from the Dr, so I posted this on Facebook " Home feels so far away today, especially when the news is upsetting" immediately my phone lit up like a Christmas tree on Christmas eve because the nosy people just had to know... drives me crazy.  If I wanted to share why I felt down I would have posted what was wrong.. then they call my parents and tell them I am sad and feeling down and this in turn gets them down.. so from now on, my thoughts and feelings will only be shared on here.

The other thing that bugs me is when people wear mismatched socks, I know it is the new trend but it annoys me, like why?? What is so fashionable about wearing mis matched socks
To me it is not a waste of time to match up socks when I do laundry, my daughter will try to wear them as mismatched as well and I refuse to let her do it.

Does this bug anyone else?

Happy Birthday Hubby

Happy Birthday to my husband, my best friend, my biggest supporter and the best daddy

You gave me everything, more than I deserve to have, to make this life more meaningful. Thank you for inspiring, encouraging, and comforting me. Thank you for always finding joy in making me happy. I love you.

Here’s wishing you a very happy birthday and many more blissful years to come!

Mabel's Labels Review

Recently Brooke went on a school trip and we needed some sort of Label that would mark her things apart from everyone else's.

I was browsing and came across Mabel's Labels . I did some research on them and I reached out to customer service for more info and what an amazing customer service team they have, they answered all questions I had in a timely manner and in just a few days I had received a full travel pack.

Not only "travel labels", they have phone skins, sports labels, birthday party label packs, anything you need you can get and you customize to suit what you want.

I will be purchasing some household labels very soon.

5 skill building exercises that increase coordination and speed

Building and training skills require a lot of hard work and dedication. Even if you have the most gifted body, without the motivation to reach a certain goal, you will inevitably fail. As the saying goes, “no pain, no gain,” one must maintain a high level of focus and determination in order to achieve their goals, especially when training the body. While the process may seem slow and repetitive, as long as one is dedicated, he will surely definitely reap the fruits of his hard work eventually.

Fortunately, through the passing of time and the emergence of experts and professionals who study the development of body, many kinds of skill-building exercises have been created and perfected to specifically train and develop certain skill sets. If you want to focus on developing your speed and coordination then here are the top 5 skill-building exercises that will surely make your training more efficient.

1. Agility Ladder

Agility ladders are one of the most effective and famous exercises that develop coordination and speed. In fact, even the most famous top athletes train with different variations of the agility ladder. It is very simple and can be done without the help of a coach or a helper. Furthermore, it also doesn’t exhaust the athlete. Thus, after doing agility ladder drills, one can quickly train their other skills or transition to heavier routines.

One of the most basic agility ladder drills is the hopscotch drill. To do the hopscotch drill, one needs to stand with both feet hip-width apart outside the agility ladder. He then must lift and hop into the next box and land on one foot and then hop into the next box with both feet. The same routine would be done in the next set of ladder boxes except that the athlete must land on the other foot.

2. Reaction Speed Drills

Testing reaction time is also a very good way to develop overall quickness. One of the most basic drills is by asking a friend or a coach to throw a ball behind you and time how quick you react and retrieve the ball back. Also, with this kind of drill, you would be able to train the coordination of your eyes and your feet.

3. Synchronization

Synchronization drills are the most effective routines to develop overall balance, coordination, and endurance. Basic drills include swinging and clapping of arms together while doing skipping routines or running with high knees while making circles with one arm. There are many other additional variations. With these drills, you will also be able to test your mental focus and toughness, aside from the body.
4. Accelerating Sprints

Running sprints is, of course, a very effective way to develop and increase your speed. And with accelerating sprints, you would be able to achieve faster and better results. The drill is done by setting specific distance points in which you would have to increase your running speed. The gradual increase in running speed helps you develop control of your body and its reaction aside from increasing your acceleration and speed.

5. Jump Ropes

One of the simplest and basic forms of exercise, yet one of the most effective and widely-used is the jump rope. With jump rope routines, you are able to train your coordination, balance, and overall endurance. Also, training your muscles and joints will increase your speed and agility in the long run.

Ultimately, even with the help of the above exercise routines, you should always remember to pair exercise with a healthy diet and lifestyle. Without the right balance of these aspects, you will surely be just running around in circles and won’t be able to improve.

15 years

Hey Baby,

Today marks 15 years since we said I do.

15 years of waking up to you every morning, going to bed with you every night, falling asleep in your arms.
sharing my secrets, fears, and beliefs with, praying with, attending church with.

You are my best friend and my love. Thank you for these few days away with just you and I and our dreams.

Andrew – my darling husband,
As we celebrate 15 years married today (soon to be 19 years together), I’m reminded of the vows we took so many years ago.  Our lives were simpler then, but while it’s much more interesting now – it’s comforting to know that the last 15 years I have grown as a woman, a wife and mother with you by my side.  We have never had a dull moment and sometimes we don’t get to rest as much as we would like, but the challenges we’ve had are a great reminder of how far we have come and a celebration of our journey together.

As I write this letter, I can’t help but think where my life would be if we had made a different choice 19 years ago.  Our situations would be different, our lives on various paths.  It’s hard to fathom and I realize that while I may ponder the thought, my life without you would never be the same… and it was God’s choice that our paths would cross and meet once again bringing us to this point in time.  Everything happens for a reason, and God’s reason was that we were to be together.
Through all of our trials and challenges, I am always reminded of our love.  You are my strength, my equal and my biggest supporter.  I am who I am today and who I strive to be because of you.  No matter what our future holds, I’m proud to have you by my side as I walk into the unknown and face whatever it is that comes my way – head on.

I love you for an eternity, for always and forever!
