Anxiety

Some days I wake up entirely sad, mainly days that I don't work, it feels like the weight of the world is on my shoulders....
The night before when I went to bed, every thing was good, hubby and I didn't fight, Brooke and I were ok so why this some mornings.

This morning for example I woke with a heavy heart and was incredibly nervous that there was someone in my house..... It's crazy because all three doors and windows were locked... It is really hard when you have moments like this.  It just takes over your heart(makes it heavy), your mind(causing it to go crazy) and emotionally because you are full of tears and very weepy ( or is that just me)

I had enough so I wanted to research it ....

Most cases of morning anxiety are simply generalized anxiety. You wake up feeling anxious or stressed about your day, but otherwise you don't necessarily have specific attacks or actions. You're simply stressed every time you wake up.

Morning anxiety is actually a bit easier to understand, because it's not necessarily its own type of anxiety. Rather, it's a reaction to anxiety that has its basis in a number of potential causes. I have found a few ways to stop morning anxiety. Consider taking a natural supplement, like CBD capsules, to help support your mental health and wellbeing during the day. Daily exercise has been shown in studies that morning exercise, such a short jog, has been shown to improve your overall mood. It's because after a night sleep we have built up energy and we need to get it out. Finally, remove all the daily stresses you can - you need to make sure you are happy to face the day. But what other methods are there for relieving anxiety in the mornings?

  • A) Make work fun - if work stresses you, find a way to make work fun
  • B) getting out there - if you find you do not feel as if you are getting out there enough or having enough fun
  • C) Relationship Troubles- Those with relationship issues should be making sure they're addressing them as well. Sitting around and hoping things will change is foolish. If you're so stressed during the day that you're waking up with anxiety, then you need to make changes right away if you want your morning anxiety to go away.

Positive Thinking Exercises
Similarly, morning anxiety suffers from a problem of negative thinking. You're waking up assuming that your day is going to be stressful, and you experience anxiety as a result. You may not even realize this assumption is occurring, but it's one of the key factors in creating this idea that you should feel anxious to start the day.
So you may need to try some positive thinking exercises.
  • Positive Journaling – One thing to do is write in a journal every night or every morning where all you write about are the genuinely great things that have happened to you or will happen to you.
  • Affirmations – Affirmations are not for everybody, but they can be effective. Affirmations are positive phrases that you repeat to yourself when you're feeling down.
  • Morning Notes – You can do this yourself, or have a partner do it for you, but another thing you can try is waking up every morning with a positive note posted somewhere around the house.
  • Goal Setting – Finally, make sure that you're setting goals for yourself, with numerous sub-goals listed along the way. Each sub goal should have a date that you're gunning for, with everything planned out on a calendar.

Finally, the most obvious step is to address your overall anxiety. So many people look for a quick fix when it comes to controlling their anxiety, but just doing these steps will not cure your anxiety over night, it is a daily process and one that we do not have to carry alone. There are  many people out there that are willing to help us

Weekend Recap

Friday:
I had a meeting at 11 am, I was going to go in town when hubby and Brooke left for school but I needed the extra sleep so I went in around 10 :30, then went to my friends to visit after while waiting for my 4 pm meeting
While at my friends house, this happened

I later went out with Cristie to Canons cross Pub- we ate so much food, did some shopping, I bought these:

I have been looking for some blue shoes and I found them.
Cristie and I laugh so much when we are together.

Saturday:
The normal saturday stuff:
groceries, the mall, walmart, Mcdonalds
We also went to the Lord Beaverbrook Art Gallery
I am not a fan of art but my family enjoys it so I went along and it was a fun family thing to do. There is no cell service in there which makes me even more fun- sometimes we just need to go of the grid and enjoy your self without technology.
I had my usual saturday nap but i got so sick and spent a while in a fetal position, when I did start to feel better...
i made Andrew a ice cream sandwich birthday cake
we had nachos and wings and watched hockey.

Sunday:
Brooke wasn't feeling well sunday morning so we stayed home( her and I)
We had a BBQ dinner for hubby's 34th Birthday.
We had some friends over and it was a great day.
I love every day to celebrate him and his wonderfulness.

Have a great week

Happy Birthday to my one true love

Happy 33rd Birthday to the best husband!!

On the day I met you, I realized that there is no point looking for true love because true love had just found me.You are my true love.

When I was a child, I made a prayer to god. I asked the Almighty to send someone who can take care of me and love me till no end. You are the answer to my childhood prayer and it feels like we were meant to be husband and wife

May God bless you with all the joy and happiness that you desire and hope that we walk hand in hand even after our hair turns silver. I will always love you more and more with every passing year.

The way you’ve supported me through all ups and downs… the way you’ve listened to me, understood me when I needed it the most… I’ve discovered the most amazing friend in you…
Thank you so much for being you.  Every single day of my life that I spend with you, reminds me of how lucky I am. We have a picture perfect marriage and all the credit goes to you, my loving husband. Thanks for making it happen. Happy Birthday sweetheart.

Roasted Red Peppers- Guest post

Today I have something different for you, my cousin who is the most amazing cook is new to blogging and is sharing a recipe with you.  Go visit his blog and follow along

Roasted Red Peppers

Summer is coming.  Do you know how I know that?  Because my local grocery store is starting to have more fresh, local produce.  I get so excited when I see local produce for two reasons: the first reason is that it’s more abundant, therefore it’s cheaper; and the second reason is that I can buy more of it which allows me to spend more quality time with my kitchen!  It’s this time of year that local supermarkets and farmer’s markets will have an abundance of red peppers, and if you’re lucky, you can get a large, sweet red pepper for about $0.50 each.  To make a large 1 litre jar of roasted red peppers like the one pictured below, you’ll need a dozen peppers.

Now, unless you’re a hot-blooded Italian, like my friend Nadia, you’re probably asking why you might need a 1 litre jar of roasted red peppers.  So let me take a moment to explain the benefits of having prepared roasted peppers on hand, and list the many options you’ll have for cooking and preparing meals with tastier results.

Roasted red peppers are flavourful, bright and colourful, and boasts a low calorie count of only 25 calories for half a cup!  Roasted red peppers can be:

  • added to pasta sauce
  • used to top pizza
  • chopped and mixed into tuna or egg salad
  • folded into scrambled eggs or frittatas
  • reheated and served on top of grilled chicken or steak
  • sauted with spinach and garlic
  • used to make roasted red pepper soup
  • added to rice or quinoa dishes
  • used to top sandwiches, particularly Panini
  • and so on…

The process is simple.  Thoroughly wash the red peppers and carefully dry them.  You want to dry all of the water so that you can rub them lightly with olive oil.  Being sure to fully dry the peppers first will help the oil coat the peppers better.  Next, slice the peppers in half, lengthwise, and remove the seeds and stem.  Lightly coat the peppers in olive oil and place the peppers cut side down on a large sheet tray and place directly under a broiler set at 500 degrees.  (You can certainly use your outdoor grill if you have one.  Just placed the peppers on the grill and turn regularly.)  In either case, you’ll be looking for blackened, blistering skin.  Once you have achieved this, remove the peppers from the oven and place in a large glass bowl.  Using plastic wrap, form a tight seal over the bowl, trapping the steam from the hot peppers inside.  The steam will help the skin separate itself from the flesh of the peppers.

After the peppers are cool enough to touch, massage the peppers gently, removing the skin.  Slice the peppers in any fashion you desire.  I prefer to quarter them so that I have more presentation options when I’m using them in my cooking at a later time.  Pack the peppers into a very clean large mason jar.  Once the jar is full, fill the jar with boiling water.  Add the seal and the lid, and once completely cooled, place in the refrigerator.

These peppers will last for a few weeks in the refrigerator, however, if you are unable to use them all up in time, consider freezing them, or making a large batch of roasted red pepper pesto and toss with pasta.
Enjoy!

Book Review- Undone

Each of us face times of incredible difficulties with our lives— we have all been there, it is hard times, but what do you do when you are faced with repeated bouts of cancer, then babies when your babies are grown. As a reader, you plunge into these challenges of cancer and growing family in speaker and author Michele Cushatt's well-crafted memoir. I found the writing compelling and page-turning. As Cushatt searches for answers, the reader also gains insight and answers.

I loved what Michele writes toward the end of her book, "I wouldn't make promises that I couldn't keep. The irony? Cancer taught me this. Eight months before, she (Princess) arrived, an unexpected diagnosis forced me to ace the undoneness of life. Not an easy revelation when life hangs in the balance. But in my wrestling for peace, I'd found a peace that transcends control, that runs deeper and stronger than any assurances or answers. The presence of a God who would see me through." (page 231)

I was gifted this book in exchange for my review.

Review of Rosebud blooming

This is a book that helped my heart so much. I feel like I always want to be helping people, I feel like this book was meant for me

Each chapter begins with Nancy Maggio’s own heart-felt poems followed by a vignette from a particular difficult season of her life that tested her faith. She weaves into her stories the amazing ways how God carried her and bloomed her into something better. Spanning from childhood to seniorhood, she divulges many very personal experiences including unwanted pregnancy, divorce, sexual addiction, inadequacies, health problems, physical pain and aging, to name a few. She portrays the way God has transformed her into a rosebud blooming through each of the painful journeys.

I was gifted this book in exchange for my review

Devotions From The Garden - Book Review

Devotions from the Garden takes you to a place where miracles of nature abound
and where your soul can be restored.
These ninety devotions connect the parallels of life with the wondrous,
sometimes inexplicable realms of the garden to usher you into His presence,
to soothe your soul, and to rest in knowing He is with you throughout each day.

This book takes you thru different flower types
Perennials -
God is at work even in seasons of your heart that seem dormant.

The Spark of Life -
Let the unknown and the mysterious compel you to trust God
that this is an opportunity - in His perfect time - for you to grow.
Herb Gardens-
Whenever we offer what we have, no matter how small,
we are giving for more that that concrete thing.
We are giving a taste of God's love, a gift more valuable than gold.

Thanks For The Harvest-
Then, when your heart is so full it could burst,
your mind is happily resting in His precious Spirit, and your body is relaxed from his touch,
only two words are worthy to break the silence.

I received this book from book sneeze one change for my review

Friendship

Friendship is a relationship of mutual affection between two or more people.

Friendships. If you have a good one, it tends to last long, stay honest, and withstand the inevitable change that time and circumstance provides – that's more than you can say for most relationships.
I recognize that friendships do have their testing moments. But these very moments that test the friendship are the same ones that prove and strengthen them.
Basically, my friendships aren't always easy and they certainly aren't always perfect, but they're made of a special kind of love that only comes from wanting to hang out with a person all the time without any intention of kissing them.

Moving here 3 years ago meant leaving my Best friend back home, it was so hard to know that I had no idea when I could see her again, it has been three years, and I have not seen her since I left, it was very hard for me, we saw each other each week if not more then that, I know we can FaceTime but it isn't the same

The past several months I have realized our "best" friend relationship has pretty much ended, we never talk anymore.. I text her and she is very busy and I am to.
It just isn't the same and hasn't been for a long time and I will never live back home so I realize it is over
She will hold a special part in my heart forever and for always

That being said I have made a new friend here, we are really having fun being friends and I asked her to be my best friend, we make a point to see each other each week, we go to the same church, we talk every day via texting ( as neither of us like to talk on the phone), when we are together, we laugh a lot and her dog loves me ;)

She is an incredible person- she is a wonderful nurse, a person who is sure of her as well, she is beautiful, she is a christian who attends my church, she gives so much of her self to make sure her friends are ok, she loves people hence why she makes such a great nurse. She is stylish, loves shoes, tea and notebooks- how can we not be friends.

I feel like God put her in my life at just the right time, just when I needed a friend like her. Thank you Cristie, it means the world to me to be BFF's with you.

Moi-

  •  I am still only working 2 days a week, I may take on a part time job at the mall if I can find one, I need maybe 3 days a week to give me some extra money to save for travel etc.
  • I do love my job so very much though, i cannot wait til it goes 5 days a week, not sure what that will be.
  • I have had 2 bladder flare ups in 2 months, something is working and for that I am so thankful.
  • I am keeping busy with church stuff, planning the farewell party for our pastor and his family which will be an open house type on June 6th, plus scheduling etc.
  • We have found a new family dr. and she is so so sweet. We were without one for 3 years and now this is a true blessing
  • I have made a new friend and we are developing the relationship of a best friend and I love it, I miss my best friend back home but it seems she is forgetting about me so as hard as it is, I have to let it go.
Brooke-

Mister-
  • They just extended his contract until next March, he wasn't to sure if he was going to accept it as he wants a new project but he did after all.

4 BAD EMOTIONS THAT WILL KILL YOUR MARRIAGE...

4 BAD EMOTIONS THAT WILL KILL YOUR MARRIAGE...

Today I wanted to share something that every married couple or dating couple deals with- anger, arguing, bickering, being plain nasty when your mad...
Hold the tongue, it will work out.. you can talk if you must ( it's a good idea to be calm though), don't throw the blame at either one.

Beware of these emotions

1. ANGER - Uncontrolled anger, intimidation and bullying have NO place in marriage. Watch your tone. Anger does NO good, only harm. Remove it.
2. CRITICISM - Listen to me, treat your spouse with kindness and respect. Your job is to build them up, NOT to tear them down. NO ONE wants to live with a critic.
3. BITTERNESS: Or you can call it blame. It can be summed up in once simple line, "It's not me. It's you." Don't be the victim in your arguments, remember that you're on the same team. It's not about who wins or loses an argument.
4. UNFORGIVENESS: It doesn't take a very big person to carry a grudge ... but it DOES take a big person to forgive someone. Marriage is made up of two imperfect people and a healthy marriage is made up of two great forgivers. Don't let your marriage be held back by not forgiving your spouse for something they have done.

Wife Talk- 10 Habits of a Happy Couple

What does it take to be happy in a relationship? If you’re working to improve your marriage, here are the 10 habits of happy couples.
1. GO TO BED AT THE SAME TIME. Remember the beginning of your relationship, when you couldn’t wait to go to bed with each other to make love? Happy couples resist the temptation to go to bed at different times. They go to bed at the same time, even if one partner wakes up later to do things while their partner sleeps. And when their skins touch it still causes each of them to tingle and unless one or both are completely exhausted to feel sexually excited.
2. CULTIVATE COMMON INTERESTS. After the passion settles down, it’s common to realize that you have few interests in common. But don’t minimize the importance of activities you can do together that you both enjoy. If common interests are not present, happy couples develop them. At the same time, be sure to cultivate interests of your own; this will make you more interesting to your mate and prevent you from appearing too dependent.
3. WALK HAND IN HAND OR SIDE BY SIDE. Do things together. Rather than one partner lagging or dragging behind the other, happy couples walk comfortably hand in hand or side by side. They know it’s more important to be with their spouse than to see the sights along the way.
4. MAKE TRUST AND FORGIVENESS YOUR DEFAULT MODE. If and when they have a disagreement or argument, and if they can’t resolve it, happy couples default to trusting and forgiving rather than distrusting and begrudging.
5. FOCUS MORE ON WHAT YOUR SPOUSE DOES RIGHT THAN WHAT HE OR SHE DOES WRONG. If you look for things your partner does wrong, you can always find something. If you look for what he or she does right, you can always find something, too. It all depends on what you want to look for. Happy couples accentuate the positive.
6. HUG EACH OTHER AS SOON AS YOU SEE EACH OTHER AFTER WORK. Our skin has a memory of “good touch” (loved), “bad touch” (abused) and “no touch” (neglected). Couples who say hello with a hug keep their skin bathed in the “good touch,” which can inoculate your spirit against anonymity in the world.
7. SAY "I LOVE YOU" AND "HAVE A GOOD DAY" EVERY MORNING. This is a great way to buy some patience and tolerance as each partner sets out each day to battle traffic jams, long lines and other annoyances.
8. SAY "GOOD NIGHT" EVERY NIGHT, REGARDLESS OF HOW YOU FEEL. This tells your partner that, regardless of how upset you are with him or her, you still want to be in the relationship. It says that what you and your partner have is bigger than any single upsetting incident.
9. DO A "WEATHER" CHECK DURING THE DAY. Call your spouse at home or at work to see how his or her day is going. This is a great way to adjust expectations so that you’re more in sync when you connect after work. For instance, if your partner is having an awful day, it might be unreasonable to expect him or her to be enthusiastic about something good that happened to you.
10. BE PROUD TO BE SEEN WITH YOUR SPOUSE. Happy couples are pleased to be seen together and are often in some kind of affectionate contact — hand on hand or hand on shoulder or knee or back of neck. They are not showing off but rather just saying that they belong with each other.
Happy couples have different habits than unhappy couples. A habit is a discrete behavior that you do automatically and that takes little effort to maintain. It takes 21 days of daily repetition of a new a behavior to become a habit. So select one of the behaviors in the list above to do for 21 days and voila, it will become a habit…and make you happier as a couple. And if you fall off the wagon, don’t despair, just apologize to your partner, ask their forgiveness and recommit yourself to getting back in the habit. ~ Dr. Mark Goulson

13 Years

13 years ago in front of family and friends we repeated our vows that would last a lifetime.

  13 years = 156 months
13 years = 676 weeks
13 years = 4745 days
and counting every day with you

Some of our vows were:
I, Terri , take you, Andrew, to be my husband, my constant friend, my faithful partner and my love from this day forward. In the presence of God, our family and friends, I offer you my solemn vow to be your faithful partner in sickness and in health, in good times and in bad, and in joy as well as in sorrow. I promise to love you unconditionally, to support you in your goals, to honor and respect you, to laugh with you and cry with you, and to cherish you for as long as we both shall live.

I, Andrew, take you, Terri, to be my wife, my constant friend, my faithful partner and my love from this day forward.

You are so incredible in everything you do for me- You make me laugh, you hold me when I cry. You work so hard so that I can work part time and keep house, you are always there for me even when you are very busy, you still take me on dates, hold my hand when driving in the car, fix my computer problems, let me cry on your shoulder...
I can go on and on, you are just incredible and I am a lucky lady to be your wife.

I've known you my whole life. But only in my heart. I would dream of you for so long. So many represented you. My dad. Every Ken doll I ever played with.
Every prince in every Disney cartoon. The lead character in every John Hughes film.
And, then you became a reality. But only after I found me could I find you.
Because you stood for the other half of me. You allowed me to be me. You've helped me achieve my dreams. I reach further knowing if I fall you'll be there to catch me.
You've given me the greatest gift I can ever know. The gift of motherhood.

The life we've created together was made out of pure love. We will raise her with pure love.
And, one day we will smile at each other knowingly as she finds her own soul mate. Thank you my love for the brilliant life we've created together. Thank you for making all my dreams come true.
My words fall short to express what my heart really feel so deeply. You love me just the way God created me, with every scar and imperfection. You can see past my outward flaws into the depths of my heart and you love me just the same. Just one look or a hug from you I know everything will be ok.

I love you Now and Always my darling

Weekend recap

This was a very full weekend, I hope I can remember everything

Friday:
My day started really early...I went to Tim Horton's to enjoy a coffee while waiting for appointment number 1 with my gyno, it went well.
Then I went downtown to get pretty nails

I love getting my nails done I always get super relaxed and leave feeling great.
After that I went to a second dr apt, after 3 years we have a family doctor and she is so sweet,  I had to get a tetnis shot though because I have never had one- the needle didn't hurt but my arm is so sore still.
We had a wedding to go to as well, Mr and Mrs Chris Eaton- beautiful wedding
Brooke got invited by a classmate to go see a movie and the mom asked me to go too, they treated us, it was so nice of them, the movie was better then I thought, we saw Home, super cute.

Saturday:
Cleaned house, got bedding and curtains on the line- I love bedding dried in the wind. It smells so good.
I took an extra long nap, I have not ben sleeping well so I think it was my body telling me to slow down and relax.
We had our anniversary dinner early because Monday's are so busy here with voice lessons etc, so we did that tonight, on Monday I will cook for him.
We went to Montana's- it was so so amazing.

We never leave there disappointed. We went for a walk across the walking bridge all while being together, such a beautiful night, stopped for ice cream, did some shopping for a couple garden related items, came home and watched a movie. I cannot believe Monday is 13 years since I said I do and I still do.

Sunday:
Sunday Am service was at our old location which means we got to sleep in an extra hour, it was nice.
After PM service we went to Harvey's, I love that place so much.

Check back tomorrow for a special anniversary post
