Why Don't You Spend More Time As A Couple Anymore?

For 8 hours we sleep and for 8 hours we work. That leaves us 8 hours during the weekdays to ourselves. Well that’s not really true. We rarely get 8 hours to ourselves because we’re always doing something. We might get off work after 8 hours, but then it's 30 minutes to get home or possibly more. Then you have errands to run and chores to do around the house. Before you know it that 8 hours of time to yourself has dwindled to but a fraction. Where does that leave you as a couple? If both people are working and living busy lives, other things can takeover the relationship. This isn’t healthy for you mentally and you start to feel like roommates rather than lovers. But is it always life that gets in the way or could it possibly be a bunch of other barriers that stop you from spending more time together?

A cheap and lazy thrill

As society has evolved and transformed over the centuries, we have become more open about our desires and fantasies. Talking about your needs and wants in the bedroom has come off the shelf of taboo subjects not to be publicly discussed and made their way into the mainstream. We’re a lot more open about these sorts of things now. To this avail the internet has allowed us all to access content of a sexual nature. However this has led to some people becoming consumed by it and accessing pornography websites every single day. This can lead to a withdrawal from real sexual activity with partners. More and more is being understood about pornography addiction and how it affects the human psyche. There are resources you can use that will show you the signs of which to look out for if you are having such issues in your bedroom.

The classy night

Staying in watching something on Netflix or Amazon Prime and eating a home cooked meal tends to get boring after a year or two. There used to be nights when you went out for a high-class meal and fine dining. You both got dressed up in high-end fashion, he wore a suit and you wore a dress or evening gown. It was special, it was classy. Doing something like this whereby yes you do spend a little extra money for the finer things in life, but it's special. A classy night on the town should be made by both of you. Go and see a high-quality theater production, follow it up by a nice walk in a beautiful part of the city and then headed off to a Michelin star restaurant. Make a night out of it and don’t be afraid to get all nostalgic. Talk about the memories you have together when you first met and couldn’t keep away from each other.

Sometimes it's problems in the bedroom that actually start outside that cause couples to spend less time together. Other times it's simply when you’re both not being creative and enjoying the finer things in life.

Easy Ways to Achieve a More Natural Way of Living

Health is always a top priority in our daily lives. We all try to make an effort every day to be healthier either by fitting in physical exercise, eating healthy meals or providing ourselves with self-care. But investing in a natural way of living is a great way to live not only a healthier lifestyle but a safer one as well. Here are some easy ways to take your lifestyle to the next level and live healthier, more natural and safer.

Revamp Your Pantry and Refrigerator

Diet is a huge part of our lives. If you want to invest in a more natural lifestyle, your diet can be the biggest part in that. With all the chemicals, sugar and sodium included in commonly processed foods, simply cutting out mass-produced foods can help make a difference in your overall quality of life. If you want to take it a step further, consider buying organic or growing your own source of food. Don’t let the near end of Summer stop you from starting your own garden either. Even with Fall right around the corner, vegetables such as beans, broccoli and brussels sprouts all flourish during the Fall harvest. However you decide to go about your diet, relying on more organic and real food will immediately help make you feel healthier.

Invest in Smarter Products

As many of us are in the habit of applying beauty products regularly, it’s easy to overlook all the chemicals and ingredients that are commonly included in what we put on our bodies on a daily basis. The easiest way to find healthier beauty products is by identifying products labeled vegan. Another easy way is to simply identify beauty companies that are 100% vegan. Take for example, hair color company oVertone as they’re PETA certified and specialize in creating vegan hair dye products. Whether you’re a huge makeup fanatic or only have a couple of your absolute favorite products, making a conscious decision to use safer and more natural beauty products will make you feel instantly better about what you’re putting on your body.

Make Your Own Cleaning Supplies

While it’s the easy option to buy cleaning supplies right from the store, much of the cleaning supplies widely available are unhealthy for both you and the environment, specifically for the air quality in your home and marine life. But whatever kind of cleaning product you need, no matter how specific, can likely be DIYed and uses the most natural ingredients available. You’ll find that DIY-ing natural cleaning supplies is not only a cheaper option but will ensure that your family is also helping the environment at a time when it needs it the most.

Use Essential Oils

Essentials oils have become widely popular in recent years. Not only are they completely all-natural and smell great but also have been shown to have multiple health benefits. While there are all kinds of ways to naturally relieve stress, essential oils such as lavender, jasmine and chamomile have been known to help with that as well. But other essential oils can help with focus, can boost your mood and possibly help with sleep. The most common way to use essential oils is through a diffuser. Not only does this add a cute accessory to any room but it’s also incredibly easy to use. Other ways you can use essential oils are through using them as a compress, adding them into a bath, or using them in a massage.

What are some of your favorite ways to achieve a more natural lifestyle?

How to tell if you should visit the ER

Medical services are often overstretched, and lots of us worry about when to visit the emergency room, or if we should just see our Doctor. If you’ve had an accident, or have woken feeling very ill, you need to be able to decide if you should call 911, drive to the ER or visit an urgent care doctor

Image - free for commercial use

It can be difficult to decide if you need the ER, urgent care or a walk-in centre, as all treat conditions that shouldn’t wait to be treated.

When To Visit The ER
Some accidents or sudden illness symptoms are always considered to be an emergency and require immediate or more advanced treatments that need a hospital. If you’re experiencing one of the following, you should visit the ER for treatment.
  • Chest pain
  • Difficulty breathing
  • Numbness or weakness on one side
  • Slurred speech
  • Fainting
  • Serious burns
  • Head or eye injuries
  • Concussion
  • Broken bones or dislocated joints
  • Fever with a rash
  • Seizures
  • Serious cuts that require stitches
  • Lacerations on the face
  • Vaginal bleeding with pregnancy

When To Use Urgent Care
Urgent care works differently to emergency care. Urgent care offers same day care for accidents or conditions that should be seen by a doctor right away but aren’t considered real emergencies. Visit your nearest urgent care clinic for:
  • Fever without a rash
  • Vomiting or persistent diarrhea
  • Abdominal pain
  • Wheezing or shortness of breath
  • Dehydration
  • Moderate flu-like symptoms
  • Sprains and strains
  • Small cuts that may require stitches
If your symptoms have been progressing gradually or you think you know what the condition is, such as if you know you’re prone to urinary tract infections or you recognise your child’s symptoms as an ear infection, you can call your usual doctor to try and get a same day appointment. An urgent care clinic can also be used if you can’t get in with your primary care doctor, but it should be generally used for non-emergency conditions that still require rapid care.

When To Call 911
If you know you need emergency treatment, you may still wonder if you should drive yourself to the emergency room or call 911.

Use common sense to make the decision, and remember it’s better to be safe than sorry. If in doubt, call 911. If you’re having serious symptoms like chest pain, severe bleeding, faintness or impaired vision, definitely do not drive yourself. Call 911 instead.

If you think you may have had a heart attack or a stroke, call an ambulance immediately, as the paramedics will be able to help as soon as they arrive.

When To Go To A Walk In Clinic
A walk-in clinic offers speedy access to medical treatment, without needing to booking an appointment. Instead of doctors, these clinics are usually staffed by nurse practitioners and physician assistants. A walk-in can be used for most kinds of illnesses when you can’t see your regular doctor, such as:
  • Painful urination
  • Rashes without fever
  • Mild flu-like symptoms
  • Cough and congestion symptoms
  • Sore throat
  • Ear pain
  • Eye redness, discharge or itchiness

Plucking up the courage and seeing a doctor could be the best thing you do

We’ve all done it. We’ve all gotten a little sick, or noticed something on our bodies that draws concern, and considered seeing a doctor. What do most of us do when those situations arise? Nothing, right? We think about going to the doc’s office and getting checked, but thinking about it is as far as we get. The idea of booking an appointment, and talking about what might or might not be there can be pretty nerve-wracking for most people for many reasons:

They may not want to burden the doctor – that’s a popular one. They may not want to hinder others that have ‘actual’ health problems. They may be embarrassed about their problem – again, another popular reason. There are heaps of reasons because everyone has their own way of thinking. The truth is, though, that you should bite the bullet and speak to someone that could help you out massively.

We have doctors in place to help people out and potentially save lives. That’s the whole point. They’re compassionate, lovely people that want the very best for the people that come to see them. Nothing would be negative in terms of the interaction. If you’re reading this because you’ve found yourself in a very similar situation, then read on; we’ll go through a few more points as to why having that sit down with a doctor might be your best ever decision.

You’ll Get That Clarity You Need

Whether you have a real problem on your hands, or whether there absolutely nothing wrong with you, it’s always good to get that burden of uncertainty off your shoulders. For some reason, we hate that idea of everything being up in the air. Whether you think you may have something annoying and frustrating like tinnitus (learn more), or whether you think you may have something that can be classed as dangerous, it’s good to know about it. Knowing where we stand with people and with situations can be really helpful as we get then get on with other things. If it’s something that needs more work, then we’ll know what to do and where to go.

Gives You Confidence To Do Similar Things

You need to be a responsible grown-up person to do these things. Many people struggle for various reasons. Just facing your fear and heading into something like this can boost your confidence and self-esteem. You’ll probably be desensitized to the fear afterward, meaning you’ll be able to handle other awkward situations. Meetings, interviews, and various social situations come to mind.

You Might Learn A Thing Or Two For The Future

Whether it’s how you act at the doctor’s office, or whether it’s a specific piece of medical information, you’ll be wiser for doing this stuff. We all need to pick things up in order to enhance our overall knowledge and common sense – this is just another way of doing that.

Any Problems Could Be Brought To An End

Seeing your doctor could literally mean that your problem(s) could be stopped at the source. If you leave something for too long, then it could develop into something quite nasty. Simply letting a doctor see what’s going on could save your life.

The Bad Habits That Will Affect Your Hearing Health

Chances are, you are probably quite adept at caring for the rest of your health.

You might exercise daily, eat well, and research ways live a happier and healthier life. But have you taken time out to consider your hearing? Without it, your happiness in life will be compromised, so here's what you need to do.

First, read our article on understanding ear health, and commit to further research for better care of your hearing.

Secondly, avoid those bad habits that are going to damage your hearing in both the short and the long-term. For your benefit, we have listed a few of them below.

Bad Habit #1: Smoking

You already know that smoking is bad for you (cigarette companies even give you warnings on the packaging), but did you know this terrible habit is also bad for your hearing? Both the smoke and the nicotine from cigarettes create problems for your hearing health, as exposure from both can damage your auditory nerves and the lining of the inner ear. There is more in this article on the matter. So, aside from the risk of cancer and a variety of respiratory diseases, let this be another incentive to kick the habit if you haven't done so already.

Bad Habit #2: Drinking alcohol

This is another habit that, in excess, can create long-term problems for your health, such as the increased risk of liver disease. However, alcohol is another contributing factor to hearing loss, as the more there is in your bloodstream, the greater the damage to the cells in your cochlea. This isn't the only way alcohol can affect your hearing, as there is the potential for brain damage too, and that can affect the brain's ability to process sound. Here are other contributing factors that might just inspire you to put down that bottle of red that you might have become prone to at the weekend!

Bad Habit #3: Listening to music too loud

Any loud noise over 80 decibels can affect your hearing, and these include the sounds from household appliances such as your food blender and vacuum cleaner, as well as outdoor sounds, such as those pertaining to roadworks. To protect yourself, you might wear earmuffs both inside and out, or avoid certain sounds altogether (this isn't an excuse not to use your vacuum). Another contributing factor is the music that some of us play through our headphones or the music that we experience when visiting night clubs and bars on an evening out. You can't do much about the latter (other than spending time in quieter venues), but you can do something about your headphones. As a general rule, if other people can hear the sounds coming out from your headphone speakers, then it is too loud. Adjust the volume then to preserve your hearing.

You may be surprised to learn that exposure to loud sounds, such as at night clubs and loud headphones, is one of the leading causes of hearing loss among young adults. You can’t recover the hearing damage. It doesn’t heal. However, there are many treatments available to correct it, such as using assistive listening devices, which will compensate for the loss. That being said, you still want to protect your ears from loud sounds.

Bad Habit #4: Not getting your hearing checked

If you know you might be suffering from hearing loss, then do the sensible thing, and go for a hearing test. Sure, you might need to wear a hearing aid - read here to learn more on what to expect - but that's better than going through life uttering the words 'pardon' and 'what' during your daily conversations. So, don't procrastinate, even if you don't want to face reality. An audiologist might actually suggest ways to reverse your hearing loss, but if you don't make an appointment, you will never know what help is available to you.

Take care, and thanks for reading!

Guest post- 5 Architectural Cladding Designs You Should Definitely Consider For Your Home

Most people do not have a proper idea about architectural cladding; it is actually an application of one kind of material over another type providing an extra layer of protection. This can be developed of several materials from wood, brick, metal to vinyl and composite. The natural utilization of cladding is to work as either weather resistance or provide thermal insulation. Today exterior designers and Architects are designing claddings in such a way that it not only provides protection but also has an impressive appearance. Proper cladding helps in building a rudimentary structure for your home that can sustain heat, sun and rain.

Here are a few of the cladding designs that you should definitely consider for your home:

1. Wooden cladding: Today wood cladding is extremely popular in the market due to its sustainable material and practical design. This type of cladding design has an aesthetic beauty and it also acts as a natural insulator which helps to keep your house cooler during summer and warmer during winter. Wooden cladding way more environment-friendly then other materials and due to these added benefits, your property value can increase with time. Light and heavy wooden beams can work best if you do not have to fear the intrusion by pests.

 2. Stone Cladding: Nowadays several new Architects and homeowners are opting for stone cladding and the reason being that it is not only cost-effective but has a practical design. Stone cladding provides a rustic appeal to your home which brings out a unique aesthetic beauty giving your exterior an earthy natural hue. Stone cladding is thin materials of simulated or natural stone which are utilized to cover your outer walls. Both of these provides the same aesthetic appeal, but the simulated stone is way cheaper than the natural ones.

3. Fiber Cladding

Cladding can also be economical and budget friend, in that case, you can opt for fiber cement cladding which is actually a proportionate mixture of sand, cellular, cement, and fibers.  This combination is a lightweight material which does not put much strain on your outer walls. This fiber cement cladding is somewhat fireproof, insect-proof and low maintenance which increases its popularity. Fiber is a good choice when it comes to adding less expensive items to your building material.

4. Ceramic claddings

The ceramic cladding has been popular for a long time as it has a history linking it with the ancient Egyptian architectures. Today it is brick slip system or ceramic rain-screen cladding which is not only good for protecting your walls but also has an aesthetic appeal to it. Generally, ceramic claddings are utilized on Museum or University walls.

5. 3D Cladding

Today you will find 3D architectural cladding everywhere on several buildings, business structures, and apartment complexes. This is absolutely the modern type of architectural cladding and a magnificent invention of modern architecture. They can be made up from cement to vinyl or even glass to make the appearance way more impressive. Generally, the bendable materials are structurally placed to give off a 3D outer effect. Reno bond, composites and Auto Bond are mixed materials that give a more durable structure to your cladding.

There are several other types of cladding which are not only common but economical. Some of the most popular ones are brick, metal and cement cladding. Brick cladding is cheaper and can be designed in several patterns or colors, this is considered the most classic of cladding designs. In the case of metal and cement cladding, both of them are utilized for industrial Infrastructures. Metal claddings work really well with wooden claddings and can coexist harmonically, whereas cement claddings are precast panels that can be utilized to sculpt exterior models.

What Happens When You Need Your Wisdom Teeth Removed

Wisdom teeth usually come through as the last of your adult set of teeth, growing at the back of your gums. They usually grow through the gums during late teens or early 20s. Typically, the other 28 teeth are in place, meaning that there isn't always enough room for wisdom teeth to grow correctly.

The lack of space in the mouth can cause wisdom teeth to get stuck and only partially emerge through the gum. This is known as having 'impacted' wisdom teeth.

The growth of wisdom teeth can cause severe pain. As with any dental problems, it is important to see a boulder dentist or a dentist in your area as soon as possible to avoid any further issues.

During your dental appointment, your dentist will check your teeth to see if your wisdom teeth are causing issues to the rest of your teeth. They will likely do an X-ray of your mouth to check the position of the teeth and advise whether it is appropriate to undergo the removal procedure.

If your wisdom teeth are impacted but not causing you any issues, you will not likely need to have them taken out. There are no proven benefits of having your wisdom teeth removed, and the procedure can often bring with it complications.

However, wisdom teeth that have become impacted or haven't broken the gums can cause dental problems. Bacteria from food trapped in your gums can form plaque around the edge of your wisdom teeth, which help with developing cavities. Wisdom teeth can also cause damage to other teeth. This additional set of molars can push against other teeth creating crowding and cause problems with the alignment of the other teeth.

Removing the wisdom teeth is usually recommended when treatments of dental ailments have previously not worked. Speak with a lansdowne dentist or a dentist in your area, about what you should do. They will conduct a thorough check of your mouth and teeth, determining the best result.

How They Are Removed

Having assessed you, your dentist will either remove your wisdom teeth themselves or refer you to a specialist surgeon in a hospital.

Before the procedure, the dentist or surgeon will explain the operation to you and explain any potential complications- you may have to sign a consent form. You will have an injection of a local anaesthetic to numb the area around the tooth that is being removed.  The dentist or surgeon will need to make your mouth as wide as possible, allowing for easy access to remove the tooth-this might be uncomfortable, along with the pressure of your tooth pulling.

After the wisdom tooth removal, you may experience discomfort and swelling around the gums, occasionally with some visible mild bruising around the mouth. These effects are worse for the first few days following the procedure but can get better in the weeks following.

Self-Care Recovery

As with any procedure, allowing time for recovery is essential. Eat soft or liquid funds for the few days following and use over-the-counter painkillers or anti-inflammatory tablets to aid recovery. Avoid smoking or drinking alcohol and strenuous activity for 24 hours afterwards.

Follow up with a checkup appointments a week after the removal to check on your progress.
