Weekend Recap- Easter Version

Friday:

Good Friday

Jesus died for us, but thankfully three days earlier he rose. 

We left home around 12:30 and we drove to my aunt's house which is about two hours away.. 

we stopped at the hospital to see this little guy 

Jaxon Wesley was born April 17- his mom and I grew up together, I spent the afternoon there with them while hubby and Brooke went off exploring.  

Then we went to the Keg for dinner, hubby keeps saying he wanted to take us so tonight we went and oh my Land, it was incredible... I ate my first steak, I am not a steak person but this was divine. 

This dessert was called "Billy Miner Pie" ~ Amazing!

We got to my aunts around 7 pm

played with my cousin's baby boys, we had so much. 

saturday:

we decided we did not want the normal Easter dinner, so we decided this year we would have the first BBQ of the season- my aunt went all out.. there were all kinds of salads, steak, hot dogs, more salads, it was soooo absolutely amazing.

 I will share the recipe if anyone would like it. Such a nice hot summer evening recipe. 

We came home around 4 pm

is it weird that I love to hold my hubby's hand while we drive, we chat or just sit there, listen to music or the radio but I love the closeness of being in the car with my loves. 

sunday:

I Love Easter so much, it is my fav time of the year- new birth, new life and a new hope. 

We went to church this morning, we had a lot of visitors.. here are some pictures from today 

My Mom gave Brooke this Easter tree last year and it was the perfect centre piece for the day. 

After the Easter 'bunny' came- she got practical things this year, she is getting to old for fun easter presents like bubbles, sidewalk chalk etc, so this year she got:

*Clothes

*Notebook

*sketch book

*hair bows- we love our hair bows

*chocolate 

*M &M's

and there were a couple of other things but i can't remember and i don't want to walk down stairs 

We had 28 deer in our front yard today, here you can see 3.. I really like them being around

I went to service tonight and also had to serve in the Cafe, it was nice to work with some lovely ladies

My Girlie 

This Lady is my "other" mother- she is always just a text or a phone call away, she has taken me under her wing and I love her so much. 

My Girl and I- Easter is also the day we first bring out the white shoes, skirts  etc.

Weekend Recap

What an amazing weekend we have had...the weather, the company and the fun

Right now at 8:10 pm i am blogging from the back patio where it is 25 degrees (77 in Fahrenheit)... this never never happens here this time of year, but I'm thankful for it and enjoying it. 

Friday

I had to write an exam at work so i woke up feeling nausea's and hoping i was just nervous and hoping once i got the exam wrote i would have been more relaxed. I took a anti nausant and went to work, i stopped for coffee on my way and i couldn't even drink it because of said nausea. 

By the top i got to work i was feeling so much better. The exam didn't get done until shortly after 11 am, but it was so Easy Peasy. I got 95% on it, they want 90 plus to keep training you. I have 9 more to go and a final exam. I can do this.

Friday we got of work at 2:30 pm, hubby picked me up because he was going to an appointment for an oil change so we both hung out at the service centre, I don't care where i am, as long as i am with him. We then got Brooke and came home, we grilled chicken breast for supper with lemon juice on it, so good and i made an amazing salad. 

We just hung out together as a family and enjoyed the quiet time. 

Saturday:

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY TO US 

6:30 am came much to early. We had to drive Miramichi which is 2 1/2 hours away from here. It was a beautiful morning for a drive. 

Brooke had her quizzing tournament there,  one more and we are done for summer. 

The team came in second place again and Brooke got the 3rd highest score for the whole tournament. 

 

This is with their Coach Fonda. The guy in the back ground is my Bro In law. 

We got home around 5 pm and i made a quick stop to the grocery store to pick up a couple of things i needed for Sunday school, promised the kids we would have cupcakes for a treat. 

Then Brooke went to Fonda's for a sleepover, it was nice to have some time with my hubby, we made ribs, we made grilled potato wedges, salad. sooo very good. 

The company was great too :p

after we ate, we want for a walk on this bridge 

hand in hand with the love of my life on a beautiful Spring evening, what can get better.

We went for a drive and came home watched hockey, relaxed and went to bed at a rather decent time. I love the man i married and would love to spend another 100 years with him. 

Sunday:

we had Sunday school, it was a lot of fun, the kids were well behaved and they enjoyed the cupcakes. 

We grilled again burgers and hot dogs, we ate out on the patio after we got all the furniture out of the garage and got it set out. 

Our student boarder moved in as well, he is a great guy and is working at our church for the summer.

Weekend recap

Friday: 

Good Friday- the day he died for us. It is a holiday here, so it felt like a Saturday all day ...

I cleaned the house and changed Brooke's room around because she always hits the wall in the middle of the night and wakes me...{i like my sleep}

I was feeling very sad because this is our first Easter without family...i had no one i could invite over because everyone was busy with family, my parents were supposed to be here today but because dad got sick, it didn't happen. 

So i was wondering how to spend the day~ my friend Faith asked us to come over for pizza with her family, we had so much fun.  I am so glad we had the invite to go. 

For being off work and not having to get up on Saturday for work- we still went to bed early. 

Saturday:

Slept late despite that early bed time on Friday 

Realized that i didn't get Brooke a Easter dress { we always do that here}

in a panic i went to the mall 

it was very very busy....

Went to H&M and they hardly had anything for her- i wanted to get her  dress but she made me promise that she didn't have to dress fancy...

nothing there to be found- so we decided to go to Walmart to see what they had...found her a gorgeous white skirt, but no shirt to wear with it, she wanted to go back to H&M  because she saw a shirt she really liked...so we bought the shirt which was more then the skirt was......

Once i left the mall i had to go to the church to decorate our Sunday School room- i wanted to make it fun for the kids so with a budget from Pastor this is what we created:

 This is the ceiling, it is supposed to look like you are underground, because we are talking about " Bring Grounded in Truth" We still have a lot to do with it yet, but we will complete it soon. My assistant teacher is so amazing- so easy to work with, i love it. 

 Our book that we use- i know it says VBS but it can be used anytime, they had so much fun today in class, we also had a puppet show, Kids love puppets. 

Got home just after 5 pm, and i babysat Olivia for my sister who went to see a drama, that kid is so sweet, i seriously would love to have her here more, {hint sister, i know your reading}, she loves Uncle Andrew and he likes her too, in fact she had to "share" his dinner last night, hahah

Brooke also had a friend over for a sleepover, they all played together nicely. Olivia went home around 10pm, i started having a flare up just before she arrived to get her, tried to fight it myself but no luck, hospital again.. was only there just over 2 hours and i was back home, this pain is so funny because ya never know when or why. 

Sunday:

The day Christ arose

Easter Sunday service is my favourite of the year... 

just a feeling of rejoicing and praise because he did this for me, his love is so amazing. 

Here is my girl this morning:

We had Sunday school and the kids loved the room and we had a great time. 

I made BBQ ribs, baked potato and rice for lunch, for the 3 of us- was very nice. 

Brooke did her easter egg hunt this afternoon, she had fun.

We didn't go all out for the basket because she gets whatever she wants, when ever she wants... 

I then had my Sunday nap :p

For the PM service we went to a drama called  "The Messiah"

i am so overwhelmed with emotions when i hear the story of his death, burial and the joy of his Resurrection, they did an amazing job, so glad we went.

We went to Wendy's after service, i hate how i feel after eating at those fast food greasy places.

Ended my day with a win for the Bruins :) Love it

Weekend Recap

Friday:  Another great day at work, they also gave me my completion date.... April 5th i am done, i want this contract would get extended but so far it isn't happening.
I took a pregnancy test, not that we are trying or anything, I've been feeling sick every morning and have puked every morning for the last 5, it was a relief when it showed up negative.
 hubby went to get Jaredene so she could come over for the weekend :) i love having her here, she is so helpful to me. Made chicken fajitas and Caesar salad for dinner after work, we didn't do  much of anything really Friday night, just relaxed, it was nice, Friday nights usually mean crazy times, but it was nice to do nothing

Saturday: We were invited to a breakfast with a friend but hubby was up all night sick so we had to cancel it, i felt bad but he wouldn't been much company.
I slept really late on Saturday to embarrassed to tell the time :p
We had to go do errands and get things ready for the birthday party at church on Sunday.
We had nachos and wings for dinner  and apple pie for dessert.
Saturday night i introduced jaredene to the me who loves hockey- she hasn't been here when i have watched hockey before..
i think she got bored because she asked Brooke to go watch a Disney movie with her, haha. my boys lost so we wont talk about that ( right Melissa:p )

Sunday: very early morning again, i had to be at Church by 8:30 to prepare for our Pastors birthday party which i took no pictures of, i was so busy.
we made a turkey dinner and apple pie with ice cream for dessert, it was so good. the ladies are such good cooks here.
We got our new bed delivered in the afternoon, spent time putting that together and hoping for a good night sleep tonight.

Weekend Recap

Friday~Another great day at work...
Had a lunch date with my hunk of a hubby- we work so close together now that we have decided one day a week we can have lunch at the lunch. we were all so tired out we did nothing. I did however, do some cleaning, scrubbed floors, bathrooms etc.
Was in bed by midnight and sleep shortly after.

Saturday~ Another very exciting day for our bible quizzers. Our next tournament started at 10 am, Brooke and Destiny came in 2nd place again- so proud of my girls

Next tournament is 3 weeks away and we are hosting it at our church, so much to do before then.
My parents will be here for that one, Brooke is gonna love that.
We went grocery shopping and i had to go to wal mart to pick up a couple of items i needed for Sunday school, also got me a new skirt for $5, love the clearance rack:D
We then went to dinner with Destiny's parents, Jen and our family, we went to Montana's, i had the Ribs and wings- it was so amazingly delicious.  I was scared the sauce from the wings would cause a flair up but it didn't. after that Brooke went home with Destiny for a sleep over and hubby and i went to clean the church and do work on some things with Pastor. We got home and relaxed and got the hockey game started. I love hanging out with my hubby.

Sunday~
Sunday school today was nice, we had 4 girls and they are crafty kids so what we needed to do worked out well.
Our lesson was about "Jesus loves the little children"- we had them lay on big paper and we traced them then they decorated however they wanted, it was pretty awesome to watch them. We ran out of time though and couldn't do the craft of the day, but then we decorated cookies and then time was up. We came home for lunch today, it was just the three of us. after lunch I took a nap and slept much to long but needed it.

Tomorrow is back to work and i cannot wait.

Weekend Recap

Friday: 

Last day of Spring break here in NB, hubby was also off for the day....

the men from the church went skiing for the day so i agreed to take a friends kids so he could go as well. 

They left around noon, i got the kids some food first, then we took a little walk ( Brooke was at a friends house over night and not home yet) 

By the time we got back it was time for the little guys nap, he napped for 2 hours, my friend Faith came over and had supper with us, i got pizza delivered and it was the worst tasting pizza i ever got, seriously, it was gross...

Hubby got home around 7 pm, my 8:30 we were all starved and he had to go get some food, I needed to get groceries and had planned to do it Saturday) 

Brooke had her friend here for a sleep over...

We then relaxed and watch the hockey game and off to bed early because he was exhausted from skiing.

Saturday: 

I had to be up and at market before 11:30 am to deliver the scarfs to the guy who placed a 30 piece order....

hubby and i went, the girls stayed here with Moses who is staying here for the week= free sitting :P

He figured we should have a breakfast date while we were out, we went to this little place called Crispins, never been there before but will def be going back, i ordered the french toast and ham, he ordered eggs, ham, sausage and toast... 

it was the best french toast ever and the company was the best <3 

also went to get some groceries before we came home- didn't get a whole lot but still spent almost $150.00- food is getting expensive. All you people in the US get food for so cheap, i am jealous. 

Did some more errands and came home in time for the hockey game, My Bruins won and it was an awesome game, i predict Bruins and Kings in the Stanley cup final and the bruins take it in 5!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 

Saturday evening i did some laundry and prepped for sunday school.

Sunday: 

Sunday school was difficult- i am finding that the age range is too much of a difference and we need another teacher, but we really only have one kid we can put in that class and she is really shy so she may not do well on her own, Malaki was so bored because the lessons are targeted at the younger age so they will understand and if they do then we know the older ones will, i felt so bad but hoping we can make it more fun for him next sunday.

Hubby and i took Brooke shopping for shoes for school... a store here is selling off and things are so cheap

we got shoes for $8

24 orange juice for $3

a leopard print jacket for $8 

love it...  if i knew i was going to get a job soon i would have bought more but it is hard when i don't know when i will just yet.

After sunday night service which was so awesome,  we got pizza hut to go and came home and had pizza, got Brooke in bed and lunch ready for school tomorrow ( Joyful day, March break is over) 

Tomorrow (Monday) 

i have an interview that i am feeling very hopeful about, i appreciate some good luck vibes etc. It would be scheduling for a health organization,  excellent pay and i really want this job BAD! Seems like if i want it though, i don't get it, so i'm gonna hope and pray and cross all crossables.
