Marriage Monday- My love Story

Welcome to Marriage Monday
My 12th Anniversary was yesterday, so today I am sharing Our Happily ever
________________________________

Our love story begins when i was 13 and he was 14
Yes i knew that young…

My cousin invited me to go to a youth camp with her
I have seldom been away from my parents and this was several hours away
But they reluctantly let me go…

The first night of camp, i sat across from this cute guy and i asked him to "please pass the water", he did and smiled…
Wow, in the instant i fell in love with him, YES at 13..
I told my cousin that i was marrying him and they laughed at me.. but I knew in my heart he was the one.

I went home and didn't speak more to him until Sept when i went to the mail box and there was a letter address to Terri Lynn White- so not my last name but i assumed they were looking for me…:p
This was a hand written letter from him, the first few years letters weren't anything more then pen pals and that was ok to he got my name straight as well, still tease him about that.

3 year later he called me on the telephone( most of our relationship was long distance) , i was shocked and had no idea what to say.. besides the fact that everyone was home and it was on the only phone in the house.. i was mortified and scared, embarrassed
and there was a lot of silence, i thought for sure i wouldn't hear from him again. A few weeks later he called again, this time there wasn't as much silence, but still some.. hey, i was getting better. ( now he tells me he wants that silence back, haha)

several months before his high school graduation he asked me to be his girlfriend, the way he said it was so sweet though..  he said… Spring, when a young man's fancy, turns to love, Terri, will you be my girlfriend? I cried so hard, it was the sweetest thing ever heard.

He invited me to go to his high school graduation, while at his high school graduation we went for a walk on some trail ( just the two of us, we seldom got alone- which is a good thing really) while on that trail he turned to me and said " do you know what i would like to do right now, i said i have no idea, he said come closer, i will show you, We then shared our first kiss…. he is so romantic.

The next year i graduated high school and asked him to be my date (off course), we had a great time, the more i was with him, the more i loved him.

I moved to where he lived for school, and while there i became so homesick that i came back home and went to school closer to my parents, a few days before i left he gave me flowers for my birthday, i remember the night before i left, he looked at me and i thought i had lost him forever, but thankfully i was wrong.
It took me some time to get over what ever i was dealing with, and i went a while with no contact with him because I had to make sure this was what i needed and wanted. I missed him so much during that time.
I was very very thankful to have this amazing man in my life.

When he graduated university, he came to visit me for 2 weeks, we had such a great time, it was also during that time that my dad got him a full time job with the local ambulance serve ( not what he went to university for), he took the job to be close to me,
January 2002 while walking in a snow storm, he proposed to me, it was the most romantic thing ever, i cried again and couldn't believe it was actually true, i kept saying is this for real..

We got married May 4th ( 12 Years Yesteday)- and it was the best day of my life.

I love him more now then that first day i saw him, i fall more in love each moment I'm around him, off course we fight, but that makes your relationship stronger.

We have one daughter and he is an awesome daddy to her.

I am thankful to God that he brought me this man.

Weekend Recap

Friday:

I worked til 4:30 or so then we took Brook to a birthday party and a sleep over for the night, so hubby and I went to hang out with friends, we grilled burgers, had salads,  drinks and lots of laughter. it was a very very nice evening. We were out really late but it has been a while.
While I was out there, we got the news that Grandpa would not make it thru the night, my cousin, his girlfriend and my Grandma was there too, they were there all night with him.

Saturday:
7:20 am my phone rang with the news that my Grandpa had passed away, I knew what it was before I answered, I was hoping if I did not answer it, it would go away and it would just be alight mare, this was not the case of course, he was gone, my heart felt like it was shredded in a million pieces, how can he be gone already, he is now an angel and looking down on us, watching us, forever in our hearts.
I decided to start looking for a flight to go home for the funeral, it was a hard one to come across because  it is so expensive to get back home, but after a lot of searching I booked one for 580.00, so I booked it and I head home Monday.
I watched some Drop Dead Diva, I am slightly addicted now, if you have never seen it, you should watch it because it is incredible.

Sunday:  I woke up to hubby saying "Happy Anniversary"

It was 12 beautiful years. I love this man so much, my heart still skips a beat when he kisses me ;)
We went to church and then Brooke went home with a sitter and we celebrated our anniversary, we decided we wanted to cook together at home , so we made ribs, twice baked potatoes, corn and salad, we had chic covered strawberries for dessert, it was a Beautiful Day with my love.

Pm service we had a guy get baptized then we all went to a friends house for pulled pork sandwiches, it was a great time, they are great friends.

Blogging won't be plentiful this week, I do have some things scheduled but I am away for a few days with my family as we mourn the lost of an incredible man.

Thank you for your prayers and symphonies during this time, I love you all so much

12 years

Today is our 12th anniversary

12 years ago, I looked at my love and told him for better for worst, for richer for poorer, in sickness and in health.

12 years = 144 months
12 years = 626.12 weeks
12 years = 4382.91 days
12 years = 105190 hours
12 years = 6.31139 minutes
12 years = 3.786838 seconds

and I want another 12 thousand years..

My Darling A,
I can’t believe that it has been 12 years since we got married. How can I even begin to put into words what being married to you feels like? How do I describe how you make me feel?
Our anniversary is a time to look back at the good times and a time to look ahead to our dreams together. Do you remember when we were first dating? Remember spending every moment possible with each other and spending every other moment thinking about each other? Do you remember talking on the phone for hours and hours about anything and everything? Do you remember smiling constantly thinking about one other and anticipating the next time we saw each other? Do you remember laughing so hard that we both would be crying? Then crying so hard we both would start laughing? Do you remember the joy of being in love and knowing you were loved back just as much? Do you remember the thrill of it all? It is a blessing to fall in love but to fall in love with my best friend is so rare and beyond expectations.
I Love you for many reasons,
I Love you for opening my eyes, showing me my self-worth.
I Love you for being my strength when I am weak,
I Love you for being my rock through hard times and
I Love you for the caring person that you are.
I love that we get excited about the same little things. The simple things – a holiday, watching an episode of storage wars or hockey games, sharing dark chocolate, going for a walk, eating billy miner pie,
I love that glowing look you get in your eyes right before you tell me you love me.
I love that you ask me how I am doing—for no reason. Just because you want to make sure I’m feeling okay.
My words fall short to express what my heart feels so deeply. You love me just the way God created me, with every scar and imperfection. You see past my outward flaws into the depths of my heart and you love me just the same. Just one look from you and I know everything is going to be ok
We are so alike, and so different, in all the right ways. You are considerably more selfless than I deserve. You are my best friend, and I am so blessed that God chose you to be my husband. And that you feel the same way. We feel equally blessed—and I love that. I love us. I love our life together. I love you.
The way you love me, the way you have come into my life, I wish the journey shall never be end till I die. Thanks for making the day special in my life. Happy Anniversary Andrew, you are my soul mate and I was incomplete without you.
All my love, Now and always!

In Memory of My Grandpa

May 3- 2014- Home to Heaven

When the phone rang at 6 am, I knew what it was before I answered, I guess I was in denial last night when mom told me it was the last night you would have with us, my heart is shredded, it is not just hurting, I feel like it can never be replaced again.

Pop:

It is so hard to believe that you are gone, growing up until the age of 17 we lived next door to you and Nan, Many times if I got trouble, I would sneak out the door and into the basement door and i would stay there because I knew mom would not say anything in front of you and Nan.

If we came looking for Pop, Nan would always say oh my dear he is out picking something else apart tonight now, he's never home, even though you were just outside the door.
Some evenings we could find you in the basement covered in grease working on a chain saw or a motor, you always kept busy.

There was no keeping you out of the woods, no matter how cold it was or what the weather was like, you always had to get that last load of wood, not that you would freeze if you didn't

Anytime one of us was sick, you came down and you would say " It's ok, Pop will pray", and he would right then and there and we would not have any more of the problem, what ever it was it would be gone.

The early mornings and evenings we would find you praying, you didn't care who heard you.

You were always faithful to church, even when Nan was sick, you would get Brian and Betty Lou to stay with her, you had to go and lead song service, which you did for many years… you couldn't read a word but you always knew what songs to sing, #80 was your favourite song to sing: We Shall See the King.

Many times we would go to Baie Verte and we would stop at chuck wagon, you would drive over to the little park and feed the birds, you cared about every creature.

The day I got married, we didn't think you were going to make it, but you did, you gave me a big hug and you said I looked beautiful and you were proud that I married Andrew.

The day you met your great grand daughter Brooke- the look of love on your face is a picture I will never forget~  you kept saying "Pop's Doll"

The day Nan passed away, you kept telling us she wouldn't want us crying over her, now today we are here crying over you and I know what you would be saying.

When you married Betty- we knew once again you found love, you were so happy and Betty thank you for taking such good care of him

The last night you had with us, you were singing and talking to your family, you were in so much pain but you prayed for each and every one of us, I miss you already.

The last conversation I had with pop that will never never leave me was this:
I was having a lot of pain and  he said its ok, Pop will pray for you… then he said don't worry about me, when you see me next, I won't see you- well Pop, today we are looking at you, you are not looking at me, instead you are dancing around the throne with Jesus, you are seeing your own song of Page 80- You are seeing the King, you are in a happy place now, you are with Jesus, it will be lonely here without you , but you lived for this moment,  so Pop dance around the throne one time, I will meet you in the morning, just in side the eastern gate, you will be waiting for me there, there are many memories that I will never forget. I love you

10) . Any Hidden Talents:
I dont know if I have ever talked about this, but when I was in grade 9- I wanted to participate in music class mainly because the guy I had a crush on, was there and I really liked the teacher, I had no music experience at all..
Then I started playing Clarinet- and I fell in love...
I love playing my clarinet, right now Brooke is also playing Clarinet, she is playing in her school band, so proud of her
