Tips for planning a wedding.

I am in the middle of a wedding ( not mine) but I am Matron of Honour for my best friends wedding in 28 days, I forgot how much work there is to do...

I will never ever forget planning my wedding, the night he proposed we had a date, I always wanted a  Sept wedding but when he proposed in Jan, I thought May would be a nice month, so it was May. I figured out my bridal party, colors etc all that night.

Planning a wedding is much more fun then some people say, it can also be stressful, here are some tips to help you

  • Take time to share your joy with another after your engagement, making plans for your wedding day.
  • Plan your wedding according to your favorite time of day. If you are an early riser, have a morning wedding.  If you are a late riser perhaps an early evening wedding would work best for you. Remember your guest will need to return home at a reasonable time following the wedding and reception.
  • I suggest having as many photos as possible taken of your wedding party before the wedding ceremony, the bride and groom may prefer to have theirs taken afterward. Your guests will thank you for not having them wait for pictures to be taken before the start of the reception.
  • Be happy on your wedding day! Do not let stress, headaches or anxiety take over your personality on this special day.  This is your day to shine.
  • Girls, it is a good idea to have a vegetable tray in your dressing room. Some of your attendants may arrive having eaten nothing all day. Having veggies to nibble on take the edge of hunger.
  • Plan to greet your guests at some point either right after the wedding or at the reception.  Be happy and grateful they are in attendance to help celebrate your day.
  • Always write thank you notes for gifts received.  If you don’t, some may wonder if you received their gift.  A thank you note lets them know the gift was received and that you are grateful.
  • Remember the words “ I do” are pledged until death do you part.  never allow the word divorce into your vocabulary in regard to your marriage.
  • Happy a happy honeymoon, even if it is only for a night or two or away.

Marriage is ordained of God, Enjoy it.

  2. Great tips! I love the one about having snacks for your attendants. I've been a bridesmaid many times before becoming a bride, and I was so thankful for the brides who thought of this little, but important, detail. :-)
