Self-Care Challenge

If you’re feeling overwhelmed with the start of a new school year and the busy Fall season ahead, you’re not alone. In the wake of the pandemic, there are plenty of stressors this time of year that can compromise your happiness and sanity. You might be thinking there must be some way to feel more at ease amidst the chaos—the answer is yes! It’s quite simple: self-care.

Do you remember your last self-care day? For many of us, we have a perfect picture in mind of what self-care looks like—eating our favorite foods, taking a bath, getting a pedicure, watching a rom-com, etc. The only problem is that it’s tough to consistently carve out the time in your schedule to take a day off for these rejuvenating rituals. You keep pushing back the day, telling yourself “next weekend!” and then it never happens. The result? You feel burnt out more often, because you’re not giving yourself the attention, love, and care you need regularly.

Thankfully, there’s a simple solution: a self-care “challenge.” A self-care challenge holds you accountable for incorporating easy wellness-oriented self-care habits into your daily routine. Weaving healthy habits into your life is one of the best ways to proactively combat burnout and illness. Wouldn’t you feel good knowing that you’re making time for your well-being each day? It’ll not only feel great, but chances are you’ll also be a better version of yourself around your family and friends.

Spending time to recharge your mind and body is no longer negotiable. Self-care doesn’t have to be an Instagram-perfect endeavor. Keep in mind that maintaining physical and mental health is a different journey for everyone. Don’t overthink self-care—try to make it something small you can look forward to prioritizing every day.
