We celebrated our day of love surrounded by our family and friends as we pledged to love each other thru sickness and in health, for richer for poorer and forsaking all others- keep our selves only to each other as long as we both shall live. 

Our honeymoon was spent for 5 blissful days in Woody Point, NL- We had the most beautiful hotel room, sight seeing and shopping. 

12 years and counting. 

Wednesdays for Women~ Grudges

Wednesdays for Women are to uplift and encourage!

I read something this morning and decided to sit at my desk for lunch and write out some thoughts that I have about it.

Grudges: Yes as women we seem to hold onto things much more then men it seems that men can forget about things so easy, why can’t women do the same

Women seem to be their own worst enemies, we stress over things we cannot control, we cannot control if someone likes us or not, we cannot make people like us…. That’s right we CANNOT.  Off course if we are nice, kind etc people will want to be our friend.

I have had a few past grudges or hurts that I have finally let go of and I've chosen to try and love people whether they love me back. It's not easy or fun but I have found that praying for the people that hurt you helps. It's hard to be mad at someone who you are praying for daily. Holding on to hurts and conflict will keep you from what God truly has for you to do.  

In fact I just had a situation a few weeks ago that I wasn’t sure I would let go, it was the kinda thing that made you not want to see that person again, but we have to let it go… I have decided God is in control, he knows why I am dealing with this trial and there is nothing I can do to change it until God says ok this test is over.

I wrote a letter to the person who hurt me, telling them I have no idea what I done to make them dislike me, but I am sorry and would like us to be friends- albeit, it will be a friendship from a distance, say hi if I see them but I won’t hang out with them etc, I just can’t allow them to wreak havoc with my heart and mind again, I was so depressed after this happened, in fact I was so mad at myself, but after talking to two ladies that I look up to, I realized why was I mad at myself,  I was mad because I felt like they didn’t like me and there was nothing I could do to change that.

We all need to let things go and let God handle the person who hurts us, there is nothing we can do to change people, we can try but it will usually result in you getting hurt , so just Let It Go

Being Mom of a "Tween"

Being Mom of a Tween

I know there are a lot of mom’s to babies and toddlers on my blogging list but there are not many if any tween moms.

This is the age of 11-12 before they reach the teen years- The Einstein/Miss Independent Age: 11-20 This girl knows everything and can do everything herself. Everything. The easiest way to identify her is by her language. She only speaks two words, “I know.”

I think it is almost as had if not as bad as a teenager, they have pretty much the same “side effects” we will call them. I am 1 week in and to be honest so far so good… ask me in 6 months and maybe my mind will have changed..

Things to keep in mind when you are the mom of a Tween:

1)   Treat them like a teen- I know mom’s it hurts to think your baby is growing up so quickly but it is going to happen, so treat them like they want to be treated, I mean all the Good ways ;)

2)   Increase their bed time as a teenager would , we have let Brooke’s bedtime changed by 3 mins, we are giving it a try, so far the mornings have been good.

3)   Give them responsibilities- we gave Brooke a cell phonefor her 11^th birthday and so in order for her to keep this phone working, it has to come out of her allowance, maybe you call us mean, but they have to learn sometime

4)   Be their Friend, their very best friend- They need to know you are not trying to be mean to them, make them comfortable to talk to you about anything and everything, if they cannot talk to you, who can they talk to

5)     Love them unconditionally- No matter what happens in life, I will love my daughter til the day I die, none of us are perfect and we all make mistakes, the key is to Love them.

Weekend Recap

Friday:

hubby picked me up from work at 4:30 and we went to the mall for dinner and also to meet Brooke's friend that was coming for a sleep over... we ate dinner and then decided to do a lil shopping and some grocery shopping. 

When we got home friends came by to take us to Booty's for a ice cream and a burger, hubby was planning to mow the lawn and so I went with them- it was a nice time. 

Watched some TV and went to bed. 

Saturday:

Brooke's birthday party day

She did not want a 'big' birthday party but wanted to take two of her friends with us to the amusement park

Andrew stayed there with the girls while I went to the mall and shopped, I got some new clothes and some David's Tea- have you ever been there, I love it. 

I got my rings cleaned while there, I love a clean shiny ring

We ate at Taco Bell and did some more shopping and presents and came home. 

We had plans to go visit some friends later in the evening but I fell asleep around 630 and slept until 7 am sunday morning, I guess I needed the sleep and that was how my body reacted. 

Sunday:

I love this girl- she will soon be heading off for university, she will be a music teacher, I am so proud of her. 

I got this new dress yesterday and shoes from Marshall's when I was away in June on vacation.

Brooke went to a sleep over so we had a date night and went to East Side Mario's after service and had nachos and wings. 

Tomorrow is a holiday here so I am going to clean my house thru and then relax later in the day.
