Home Scavenger hunt plus a free download
With tech companies making an awful lot of products that not everyone needs ($4,000 rollable TV, anyone?), I think you'll agree with me when I say that there are many essential household items that anyone could use. If you have kids, a job—or both—then there are some things your home just can't do without.
Here are six of my favorite essential household products that help me get through the day and make life, in general, a little less stressful.
1. A Good Coffee Machine
If you saw the Freddie Mercury biopic Bohemian Rhapsody, you may remember the scene where the Queen guys are having an argument (over a song called "I'm In Love With My Car"), prompting Roger Taylor to threaten to throw the coffee percolator at them. "Not the coffee machine!" the others cry out.
Exactly—I know I couldn't live without a good, hot cup of Joe in the morning. And it doesn't matter whether you prefer your coffee via a French press or a single-cup brewer. Once you find the machine that brews the BEST cup of coffee for your tastebuds, hold onto that baby tight and never let it go. Savoring sips of coffee is one way to get through a hard day.
2. Vacuum Cleaner
How did people keep their homes clean and sanitary before the advent of electricity and vacuum cleaners? I don't want to know, but I'm positive I couldn't spend hours hanging out my rugs and beating the dirt and dust out of them by hand. And how did Victorians deal with those allergens floating around their homes? Everyone needs a vacuum to help prevent allergies.
Find yourself a vacuum cleaner that's easy to tote around and equipped with attachments long enough to reach ceiling cobwebs and can suck up dust bunnies and potato chip crumbles from the nooks and crannies in your home as well as your vehicle. I personally love a bagless model; the clear plastic canister shows me exactly what I'm picking up.
3. Air Filter/Purifier
In that same vein, I think every home needs an air filter to help deal with life's smelly messes (or messy smells.) When you or your hubby burns dinner or someone has to make a lengthy bathroom visit, an air filter saves the day.
Not to mention, this is a gadget that helps improve air quality in your home when used on a regular basis, helping you to get a better night's sleep.
4. Laundry Basket
I know what you're thinking: did she just say a laundry basket is an essential household item to have? Absolutely, friends. You see, a laundry basket isn't just for toting laundry...
It's a homeowner's BFF when unexpected company announces they're coming over on short notice and you need to wrangle up toys, magazines, stray clothing, and who knows what else to make the living room walkable. Then you just take it and tuck it away out of sight in another room.
5. Clothing Moth Traps
It sounds weird and gross, but trust me on this one: you need to stock up on clothing moth traps because you never know when one of these nasty critters will infest your home and wreak havoc on your woolen clothing and goods. Actually, it's the babies of these straw-colored insects that love to munch on natural fibers but considering how many eggs a casemaking clothing moth can lay, it becomes a vicious cycle if you don't kill them all. It’s enough to make someone feel like Sigourney Weaver in the Alien movies.
My favorite are Greenway natural glue traps. They contain no poison; just a safe pheromone-infused dot that attracts lovelorn moths to their deaths. The same company makes fruit fly traps as well.
6. Funnel
You'd be surprised how often a funnel comes in handy, whether you need to add more oil to your car or you want to pour homemade salad dressing into small bottles to bring to work with your lunch. Keep one in your kitchen gadget drawer for those times where you don't want to make a mess pouring something greasy or syrupy into a container.
I hope my list of essential household items has inspired you to add these to your shopping list the next time you make a store run. What products do you own that you can't live without? Let me know in the comments below!
Sometimes it might feel like your bills are never ending. Or you might have had an incredibly
busy month and have somehow let your bills slip through the cracks. It happens to more
people than you realise.
However, it is important to make sure that you make your payments on time.
For obvious reasons, you need to pay your bills so that you get electricity in your home etc…
Also, one of the more negative consequences is that a late payment can affect your credit score. This is why it is really important to keep on top of your monthly bills.
Keep on reading to find out some helpful tips.
Keep as Organised as Possible
The best way to keep on top of your bills is to make a note of everything. Keep a note of every payment. If you keep every receipt, then you’ll know how much you are spending.
You might prefer as well to pay with Cash As having to physically count the money can make you more aware of how much that you are spending.
If you are organised and know how much you need to spend on your bills, then you won’t have any surprises along the way.
You’ll want to create a system that stays the same. For example, if you keep your receipts then make sure you leave them in the same place. It is also worth noting that you should make sure that you keep your bills in the same place e.g. online, through the mail or via a mix of both.
Shop Around If you are worried that your bills are going to be expensive this month, then it might be a good idea to shop around and find some cheaper options.
It’s so easy to just buy the same products all the time. People are creatures of habit and it’s very hard to break this habit. Rather than just getting the things that you think you need, it’s a good idea to make a shopping list first, this should mean that you don’t make any impulse purchasing.
You might find it easier to do all your shopping online. You’ll also find that this will help you find cheaper deals. Don’t just go to your favourite shop instead have a look around and see if any other shops have the same product but for half the price.
If you are truly wanting to save money so that you can afford all your bills, you’ll easily manage to cut your shopping list in half and only get the necessities.
Get a Loan if Needed If all else fails and you are still in need of getting some extra cash to help you keep on top of your bills, then you could consider getting a loan. There are different kinds of loans, so it’s important that you make sure that you get the right one for you. Some people might prefer to do Payday Advance Online something like this to help them out in emergency situations. These are short term loans which can give you money so that you can afford to pay a bill. This means that you will avoid a late payment. However, it’s important to note that you should only take a loan if you know that you can afford to pay it back. If you are just waiting until your next paycheck then this loan might be really helpful to you. However, if you know that you can’t pay it back, then don’t do it. There are plenty of other things that you can do to help you save money elsewhere. For more information on how to do that, you can check out This article here

Whether you’re working in a company as an employee and have a desk job or are working for yourself from home and also sitting at a desk all day, you may have heard the news that sitting is the new smoking.
Whilst that certainly doesn’t mean that you’re not allowed to sit down and rest when needed, it’s important to remember that staying active is a crucial part of a healthy lifestyle, so it’s really something to think about when you’re having to sit all day and a good idea to make sure that even though you’re not doing a physical job, you still need to be looking out for your health and safety.
That’s why we’ve compiled some of our top tips below on how exactly you can do this.
Maintain good posture:
People who sit at desks all day often suffer from back and neck pain due to poor posture that’s a result of incorrect seating and desk alignment, so you need to make sure that you’re sitting at a desk in the correct way to avoid injuring yourself or causing bad posture which can result in further problems and even needing to see a doctor. If you’re looking to speak with a doctor about any particular orthopedic issues, then you should definitely do a search here to find one that comes recommended:
Take breaks:
When you’re employed in a company, there’s a legal requirement for you to be offered and to take breaks throughout the day. So make sure you use these because they will not only benefit your overall levels of concentration and focus, but it’s a good time to get up and stretch your legs a little so you don’t get stiff from sitting all day.
Eat healthy:
Often when working in an office or even when working from home, it can be tempting to eat unhealthy snacks like chocolate or fast food because it’s sometimes easier. However, if you don’t want to crash and burn right after lunch time and have no energy left for the day then you need to make sure you’re eating healthy and nutritious foods that will give you energy to keep you going during the day.
Stay hydrated:
Water is one of the best things you can drink at anytime of the day, but especially if you’re sitting at a desk for hours at a time, then it’s really going to benefit you to stay hydrated. Drinking water is healthier than anything else you can drink and will keep your energy levels up during the day, too, so it’s really important that you’re drinking at least 8 glasses of water throughout the day.
Although that sounds like a lot, it’s really not that much when you’re breaking it up over an 8 hour work day, and we promise you’ll notice the difference after a few days of drinking more water.
When a friend or family member is going through a tough time with injury, illness, stress, or a difficult life circumstance, it is entirely natural to want to help them however you can. Unfortunately, in many cases, people feel somewhat powerless when they see someone they love struggling; unsure of how to offer help, or even concerned that they don’t know what kind of help might actually be suitable.
However, there are a few different ways that you can show your support and ensure that your loved one feels cared for throughout a trying time - and here are three different strategies that can help you achieve this goal.
#1 - Offer practical assistance
In the first instance, support is often best expressed through offering solid, practical assistance that can ease the burden on your loved one. This may mean doing an online grocery shop on their behalf if they are struggling for free time; helping them with attending medical appointments or helping them in their claim with their personal injury lawyers after an accident; or offering to clean their home or cook meals in order to give them the chance to rest and relax during a stressful time. Anything that helps to ease the number of tasks they need to do each day can be beneficial, so ask your loved one where they could do with a helping hand and then make arrangements to assist them as and when you can.
#2 - Provide emotional support
In addition to offering practical support, it’s also worth considering that, sometimes, people who are going through a rough patch just need to be able to talk to someone. Sharing problems and venting frustrations can provide a kind of catharsis, and often, people are not seeking direct solutions - they just want someone to listen. As a result, it’s worth simply sitting with your loved one and allowing them to say whatever they want to say, however they want to say it.
#3 - Allow and encourage distractions
When you know someone is going through a challenging time, this knowledge can become consuming - it’s all you think about when you see them, and tends to dominate your conversations. While this is understandable, and can allow you to offer both practical and emotional support, it can become overwhelming for your loved one. Even in the toughest times, people may want to distract themselves and think or talk about something else. If they begin to lead conversations away from the issues they are experiencing, then go with them and encourage them to think, talk, and focus on other things, even if they are relatively unimportant. Everyone needs a break from time to time.
In conclusion
For most people, a combination of the above three strategies works best; you can offer practical and emotional support when required but, on occasion, allow focus to turn to lighter or inconsequential subjects as the person requires. By allowing yourself to be flexible in your supportive approach, you should be able to be there for your friend or family member in whichever way they require at any given time.

Earning On The Side With Zoombucks
Juggling the duties of being a homemaker, wife, and mom with a regular job can get challenging at times. Unlike ordinary jobs, you can’t have sick days off because a lot of people are relying on you to keep things going smoothly on a daily basis. And if you do get sick, you can’t expect to be financially compensated for it, either.
This is one of the biggest reasons why a lot of work-at-home moms, or WAHMs, consider getting side hustles to augment their regular incomes. Some get into the drop shipping business to sell on e-commerce platforms, while others choose to do online tutoring or become virtual assistants. Still, many are opting to sign up with online rewards sites. The latter is fast becoming a favorite go-to of WAHMs because of the ease with which they can get rewarded for tasks they would usually do online, anyway. ZoomBucks is one of these sites - also known as survey or GPT (get-paid-to) sites - because of the tasks involved. I first learned about it in a forum called EarnThatBuck, where members compare their experiences about different rewards sites and which ones they actually benefit from.
With that, let’s take a closer look at what it has to offer to hardworking moms everywhere.
A Passive Income Generator
At ZoomBucks, you can actually earn cash by watching videos - an activity one does typically when online. As teenagers, it was a pipe dream to get paid for sitting on the couch all day while watching television, right? Well, with this site, that dream is now a reality: watch a video, then earn money. It’s that simple! We sit through thousands of ads and commercials on a daily basis, anyway, so why not get compensated adequately for it this time around?
As for the rewards part (we will get more into that in a bit), the idea of earning while not exerting too much time and effort into a task is the best example of a passive income. It requires no capital, no signing up fee, no prior work experience, no college degree, or any other requirement - except letting a video run its course!
Easy, Doable Tasks
Aside from watching videos, you can also earn points and redeem them for cash or gift cards by completing surveys and doing offers. If you’ve ever answered any of those silly surveys on Facebook or other social media sites, then you won’t be averse to doing the surveys here - especially since it involves rewards. Businesses and brands partner up with sites like ZoomBucks to get feedback on their products and services so they can improve their marketing strategies. The surveys being offered target specific demographics, and it looks like moms are one of their primary audiences. This means more surveys to complete for WAHMs, and more rewards to be had in a short time.
As for completing offers, ZoomBucks does not require a strict demographic “fit” for members to participate in them, unlike with surveys. Instead, you can simply sign up to do a trial offer, test an app or product, and then wait for your reward once you’ve completed an offer. A special note about this particular task, though: it will require the use of your credit card, so make sure to cancel your trial offers because you might get a recurring bill for it if you don’t.
Oh, and there is also a referral program which allows you bonus points from each successful referral’s earnings! So that is another plus as far as passive incomes go.
Better Rewards and Faster Payouts
Now for the good part: the rewards! If you like getting cash, sites like ZoomBucks has got it covered via PayPal. You can choose to cash out right away as soon as you reach the equivalent of just $3 in your account! Other online rewards sites have a much steeper minimum payout threshold (I’ve seen ones that require as high as $25, which is just too much to work towards). What is even more rewarding is how fast ZoomBucks processes payment requests - a lot of EarnThatBuck and other forum members attest to getting paid in as little as 48 business hours.
Also, it’s important to note that ZoomBucks only partners with well-known and trustworthy survey and offer providers such as PollFish, PeanutLabs, TrialPay, GrabRewards, and others. These providers are known for offering higher points in a shorter amount of time, which makes it worth your time and effort.
WAHM-Friendly
Why did I include this particular section? Because sites like ZoomBucks make it worthwhile for a work-at-home mom to sign up and become a member, that’s why.
Aside from earning points for cash, the rewards catalog in this site include rewards that can benefit moms. We are talking about gift cards from Walmart, Amazon, Macy’s, Lowes, Staples, the Gap, eBay, Netflix, and others which can definitely help with shopping and grocery needs in a snap. And if you have kids, you will be happy to know that some of the rewards also include gaming gift cards from XBox, the PlayStation Store, Rixty, Steam, Google Play, and more - perfect for gifting the special kids in your life without you having to dip into your hard-earned savings for it!
