It has been a while since I had a friday off so I thought today I would come back with Confessional Friday, Leslie our host is very sick and needs a lot of prayer so she can come back to blogging, we all miss her so much

Today I am confessing..

1) I cannot wait for 5 pm, it is the Ladies Retreat weekend, I cannot wait to spend time with my favourite ladies, eat delicious food, laugh a lot, drink coffee/tea ( starbucks right in the venue), stay up late, get up early and do it all over again.

2) I need to do some major house cleaning today but so far, I got winter packed away, dunno how much more I will do, I need to get my clothes ready for the weekend etc.

3) It is so nice to be in spring type temperatures, we had a long hard winter and I am glad it is done.

That about does it for me, whats on your schedule for this weekend?

Wife Talk - 10 Signs you may be headed for marriage problems

I don't believe anyone ever goes looking to have an affair. Instead, affairs happen over time when we let our guard down and quit focusing on our marriages. One of the best things you can do to keep your marriage strong is to pay attention to the signs that your relationship is headed in the wrong direction. So here are ten early warning signs someone may be headed for an affair...
1) If you have an "It'll never happen to us" attitude. Don't EVER let your guard down.
2) If you confide in someone of the opposite sex about your marriage problems.
3) If you neglect your marriage and no longer try to meet your spouse's needs.
4) If you are not doing regular check-ups with your spouse asking, "How are we doing?"
5) If you are not being proactive in the growth of your marriage.
6) If you focus all your energy and attention on your children and not your marriage.
7) If you are locking your phone from your spouse, or deleting texts or Facebook messages so your spouse won't see them.
8) If you find yourself dressing up and paying more attention to your appearance in hopes that "they" will notice you.
9) If you are keeping secrets or hiding things from your spouse about a friendship you have with someone of the opposite sex.
10) If there has been a huge drop off in intimacy or none at all.

Pornography and Marriage

9 REASONS WHY PORN WILL RUIN YOUR MARRIAGE

1. Porn gives a very unrealistic view of the female body and causes unfair comparisons.
2. Porn gives an unrealistic view and unreal expectations of sex.
...
3. Things like love, respect, intimacy and commitment aren’t found in pornography.
4. Porn causes lust to take place in the heart (Matthew 5:28). It's cheating ... emotional cheating.
5. Porn is addictive.
6. Porn causes people to no longer see their spouse as a person or partner, but as a sexual object.
7. Porn breaks trust.
8. Porn destroys intimacy.
9. Pornography NEVER satisfies, it always leaves you wanting more.

Simply put, pornography will ruin your marriage. It has destroyed FAR more marriages than it’s helped. Pornography will drive you apart from your spouse rather than bring you closer together. Instead of pursuing porn pursue your spouse. Instead of being addicted to porn be addicted to your spouse (Proverbs 5:18-19).

Weekend Recap

Friday: My girlie was out of school so I thought i'd take the day off too, I work for a really great company have I mentioned that ;)

We slept in late, I cleaned the house, she had sprained her ankle so we couldn't do what I had planned to do with her, I thought maybe a girlie day at the mall with a pedicure and a movie but we couldn't do it.

After I cleaned, I worked on sewing her costume, they have a drama coming up in a few weeks and I had to sew her costume, call me lucky.

I had agreed to babysit for a friend a few days back, her hubby planned the entire thing and here I sit writing this, her little guy is in bed

It is nice to have some peace and quiet.

Saturday:
Slept in a bit, got ready and went to town with my hubby to get me some new clothes

I needed a couple pieces of summer clothing, so I got some brighter colours, that black and white striped is actually green and white, nice for spring, not sure why the colour is black on here.

We got groceries and then went to the venue for the CD launch of our Pastor, you can find him on iTunes ( Matt Linton), we had a great time.. so sad that they are leaving but wish them all the best.

Boston Bruins ended their hockey season tonight as well, they are all done, they did not make the play off's, sad night to be a Bruins fan.
Now it is time to cheer for the New York Rangers :)

Sunday:
Church begins early to set up as we do not have building so we use a community centre.
After morning service we were all getting ready to leave when hubby came back in side to get our pastor, one of the older guys was feeling confused, thankfully our nurse was there  and she jumped right into action, come to find out he was having a stroke, we took him to the hospital, they admitted him and running some further tests.
Once my nurse friend was done, she met us at swiss chalet for lunch, it was so good. for dessert I had their fudge cake, I have never tasted anything so good. I love desserts..... so much, even to much
( i did not get this weight by eating healthy)
Brooke wanted to buy a birthday present for her sunday school/youth leader, she is turning 30, so we bought her 30 items for her 30th birthday.

Sunday night service brought a wonderful surprise- a old friend came to speak and brought his wife and family, it was so nice to see her.

Now a new week is about to begin :)
Have the best week <3

Preparing to say Good Bye

Some people walk into your life and leave foot prints for ever in your heart, that is what this family has done to us:

The beautiful Linton family.  ( Our Pastor and Family)
Left to Right- Selah, Matt, Cynara, Bentlea and Malaki

When we moved here three years ago the first day we were church hunting, we went to their church and we felt such a close family atmosphere, they took us to lunch that day, we had play dates that week and we had them over for dinner, we immediately knew they would become our pastor. We did visit another church but decided quite quickly that our decision was made.

This past Sunday night they announced their resignation, they are going to be going full time into a music ministry, I got so emotional, I don’t do well with change but losing someone who means so much to us….

They are so caring, they give so much of them selves... My pastors wife { Our first Lady}is also an amazing singer and piano player, if you asked her that she would say she is a basic piano player

I can truly say that there few people anywhere, in any church, who have as much impact as the Pastor’s wife.   Yet, most of what they do is behind the scenes and goes unnoticed. They aren’t often giving sermons, leading from the front, or getting the praise.  Oftentimes they move under the radar; loving the church and its people, and creating a foundation upon which a thriving church can be built.

We have all benefited from four years of thoughtful, scriptural sermons that have rightly divided God’s word of truth. Your sermons have lifted our spirits and Yes, disturbed our consciences! You have shaken us out of complacency and self-righteousness. We have benefited from four years of exhortation; four years of important new initiatives.  We’ve benefited from four years of teaching-- Yes, Pastor, you’ve done much, and I could recite a further litany of many tangible accomplishments. But more than this,  because of the way you’ve lived before us, for the way you’ve responded to God’s Call. That--more than anything else--is why we value you and thank you

We’ve benefited beyond measure from being “eyewitnesses to your response to God’s Call.” You have shown us, by precept and example, how all of us, by faith, are to respond to the Call of God. The best of all preachers are those who live their creeds. To see good put into action is what everybody needs. For the way you’ve lived out the Call of God upon your life. For, in you, our Pastor and First Lady, we’ve witnessed four years of “steadfast, unwavering faith”; four years of purpose and vision; and indeed, four years, as our  theme so eloquently proclaims- Church In Motion- we are moving forward and we know God is with us and good things are coming our way.

We appreciate you for the life you’ve led before us, for the model you’ve been of overcoming doubt and surmounting obstacles, but above all for showing us the power of being “inspired by God, driven by faith in Him, and empowered in all things by the Holy Spirit.

As for those precious kids- they have such a special spot in my heart, since Sunday I think about them and I am so over come with emotion... because every time we would go to church they would greet us at the door and give Brooke the biggest hugs, maybe me to if I was lucky.  they have made me smile by little things they have said or done.  I love you so much Malaki, Selah and Bentlea, you always have a special place in my heart.

Wife Talk- 3 KINDS OF CHEATING IN MARRIAGE...

In your marriage vows you promised to be faithful to your spouse. Cheating on your marriage can be done in many ways ...
* PHYSICALLY CHEATING is where you're involved with someone physically that is not your spouse. Some people call it an affair or sleeping around ... it's cheating. This is wrong. It's adultery and don't EVER do this. There is NO excuse for this ... ever.
* EMOTIONAL CHEATING is where you've made an unhealthy friendship with someone of the opposite sex. You've become attached to them in a way that you should be with your spouse. You constantly text, talk or want to spend time together. You hide this relationship, and the details of it, from your spouse because deep down you know it is wrong. Don't do this, it is wrong. Emotional affairs are as dangerous and as wrong as physical ones.
* MENTAL AFFAIRS take place with pornography, soft-core porn, etc. We believe this is not OK behavior. It is a perverse and ridiculous intrusion into your relationship. It is an insult, it is disloyal and it is cheating. Consider how it makes your partner feel. It makes your partner feel ugly, hurt, deceived, lied to or inadequate, and it needs to stop. It will erode your relationship.
SO, don’t have an affair of any kind. Don't try and justify it ... it’s wrong. Simply be faithful to the one you promised that you would and pursue them ... not others.
