Marriage Tip Week 1

Hey,
I feel like in the spring when I did marriage tips, it didn't end like I wanted it to, I had all kinds of posts ready to schedule and then I went on vacation and it fell apart.
So for the next 10 or so Mondays- Marriage Monday is back.

I will be sharing tricks of the trade ;)

Week 1:

Never stop courting.
Never stop dating.
NEVER EVER take your spouse for granted. When he asked you to marry him, you promised to be that person that would love him unconditionally, This is the most important and sacred treasure you will ever be entrusted with. HE CHOSE YOU. Never forget that.

I love it when hubby ask me on a date, I really still get butterflies, I love dressing up, driving in car holding hands etc... I adore him and I feel like he feels the same way.

Genesis 2:22-24

Then the LORD God made a woman from the rib he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man.  The man said, "This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called 'woman, ' for she was taken out of man."  For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh.

  1. Well it sounds like you have a great marriage and must be doing something right :D Dating your spouse is a great rule to have for a marriage I think too. Everyone wants to be treated special every now and then.

  3. So true Terri! My husband and I have been married for almost 13 years and it's so important to continue focusing on each other and keeping the relationship strong. Date nights are great, they just get much harder once you have kids. Thanks for the reminder to keep the relationship exciting!

  4. I totally agree with you Terri. I just wrote a post on five date night ideas you can do with your spouse while staying in, but I still love going out with my husband. We are fortunate enough to have awesome grandparents that will watch our little guy.

  5. I'm not married (yet) but I think this is such great advice! I think we too often can get into a rut that we forget that dating can rekindle a relationship! Thanks for the tips!

  6. That is a tip or rule which my hubby of sixteen years and I swore we would never forget, but alas it has taken a back seat to everything else. We will get there eventually!

  7. Great post. It's really hard to make dating a priority when you have three kids and a busy schedule, but when you realize how important it is you make it work. We usually only have one date a month. I'd like to make it happen more often.

  8. I couldn't agree more. We try to spend time alone every couple of weeks, even if it is for just a couple of hours.
