These tricks are all you need for a cozy home

Whether it’s snowing outside or you’ve just had a hard day at work, there’s nothing quite like coming home to a cosy set up and relaxing for the rest of the day. The good news is, you don’t have to completely renovate your home or spend a fortune to make it feel as cosy as possible. All you need to get the job done is the following tricks. Kick back and enjoy!

Set The Tone With Your Entryway
The first thing you want to do is set the tone with your entryway. Walk into your home and think about what your guests see first, and how it may be affecting the first impression they get. Your goal should be to draw the eye through the home with your chosen elements, such as color and pattern. Don’t neglect the entryway; make it just as cosy as you’d like the rest of the home to be. They should feel right at home as soon as they step inside!

Get Rid Of All Obstacles
There shouldn’t be any obstacles in your home that can stop your guests from making their way through the space easily. For example, if you have your furniture pushed together too closely, guests will become confused as to how to navigate your home; the proper way to act and move around. This makes people uncomfortable, which is the exact opposite of what you want!
Moving around furniture should be easy, so make sure there aren’t any obstacles that may confuse people and stop them from feeling nothing but comfortable in this new space.

Bring It To Life
A cosy home is great, but you still need to bring life to it if it’s going to look and feel amazing. How can you do this? Go crazy with plants! Don’t just add a small plant, or even a few small plants.  Go big and fluffy with your plants and have them all over. They can make such a huge impact, are great focal points, and will stop your home from looking dreary.

Add As Many Soft Textiles As You Can Muster
Not only should you go a little crazy with plants, add as many soft textiles as you can muster. You must know that texture helps to give that feeling of coziness, so don’t be reserved with how much you add. If you want to add an element of softness to the bedroom, for example, you could even add a curtain wall. This will incorporate interest and texture, as well as make a wonderful focal point!

Break Up Those Straight Lines
No matter how much time you spend choosing cosy furniture and other items that add to the cosy feel, if you have too many straight lines, it’s going to be a disaster. Your home will look harsh and uninviting. A throw blanket over the corner of the sofa can easily break up harsh lines, as well as strategically placing round objects, such as a round rug.

Incorporate Unique Design Details
Unique design details add fun and personality to your home decor, which is exactly what you want when you’re trying to create a cosy home that’s tailored to you. Anybody can create a cosy home, but it takes skill to create a cosy home that is tailored to your tastes and preferences. They don’t have to all look the same, with big merino wool blankets and nothing but neutral tones and colors! You could use giant bean bags as furniture if you wanted to. Go on, do it. Don’t be afraid to shop now if you want to do something different. You could even pick up souvenirs from unusual places you visit and have them on display to create interest. There are all kinds of ways you can incorporate awesome unique design details that will make the world of difference.

Make It Smell Amazing
Cosiness isn’t just about having incredible furniture pieces and soft accessories. Your home needs to smell amazing too. A cosy home should invite all of the senses! If you’re having guests over, you could make cookies beforehand to fill the home with that gorgeous smell. Plus, you’ll have cookies to offer out. Alternatively, you can use things like candles, reed diffusers, and aromatherapy oils to create a beautiful smell and relaxed feel.

Display Your Favorite Photos
Displaying your favorite photos in the home is one of the best ways to show off what your family is really about. This is the kind of decor element that personalizes the home and makes you feel happy whenever you look. You could even create a collage picture wall full of your favorite photos, by using different sizes and different frames for a stylish finish.

Create Your Own Nook
What sort of a cosy home would you have if you didn’t have a nook? Nooks can be created in many ways, so you’re probably going to need to think outside the box a little depending on the space you have and where you want it. However, if you have a suitable place, you could use a bed without a headboard in an empty corner covered with pillows.

Hang String Lights Everywhere
Nothing says cosy like string lights. String lights can look great on the ceiling, wound around banister rails, laid on shelves, on bed frames, and in so many other areas of the home. They give a truly magical effect and are perfect for getting you in a relaxed state of mind.

Start using these tricks for a cosy home and it won’t be long before it becomes your haven. You don't have to spend a fortune; all it may take is a little reshuffling of furniture and some creative DIY. Tutorials are everywhere online, so keep an eye out and you’ll be able to create the cosy home you’ve always wanted!
