The garden is the best place to spend some quality family time. Kids love to play and use their imagination to the fullest in a safe place such as the garden. But the thing about gardens, is they don’t really offer much. They’re usually just spaces of wasted grass, with possibly a greenhouse, or an out house. You could do so much more with it, and make it a sanctuary for both you, and your children. Take a look at these cool ideas.
A Treehouse
The ultimate dream for a kid. A treehouse brings to life so much imagination, and they’ll be the envy of all their friends. You’ll obviously only be able to do this one if you have a dense, wide and round, big enough tree. You can either buy the treehouse online, and get it installed. Or you can attempt it yourself and use it as a huge DIY project. If it’s the latter, you’re going to need a few tools. A chainsaw, a chainsaw sharperner (If you don’t have any of these, check out reviews on https://bestofmachinery.com/best-chainsaw-sharpener-reviews/, some screws, a hammer, and safety gear. Chainsaw down any low hanging branches that might sit in the way. Then follow an online guide to help you through. Once completed, follow your own rigorous safety checks, and make sure everything is reinforced.
A Pond
This is a feature that will make both you and your children happy. A built in pond is such a pretty addition to any garden. It’s up to you whether you get a professional to do this, or attempt it yourself. It may be better for a professional however. Take your kids to pick out some colourful fishes, and you can pick out little pond ornaments to really make it aesthetically pleasing. You could even add the nice touch of a water feature going into the pond! It’ll help get your kids interested in nature, and help to teach them the importance of cleaning and maintaining things. Flowers
This one is more for the adults, but seasonal flowers are the best. With fall upon us, it’s most likely going to be the case that your summer flowers are dying out. So head to your local gardening store, and ask an employee for advice on which flowers will last the winter. Pick out the most colourful one’s you can, and get planting! You can get your kids to help with the planting process as well. Be sure to plant them nice and early before the soil spoils. Before you know it, you’ll have a bright lovely garden that’ll be the envy of all your friends, rather than the kids!
Accessories
A final, but vital point. Accessories such as wind chimes, little character ornaments etc. are great. Let your children pick out some disney themed ornaments, and dot them around the pond. You could even purchase a few hanging baskets and fill them with pretty flowers. Attach them to the treehouse, and you’ve made yourself a beautiful garden.
