Life as a Wife

As I considered my desire to honor God in my marriage, I was reminded of several verses of scripture that guide my life as a wife.

♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡
Acts 17:28-
For in him we live and move and have our being.

A Godly Life= A Godly Wife
The secret to being a Godly wife is to marry your soul to God and let him everything in your life flow of that relationship.  A wife loves her husband best when she loves God most ”( fiercemarriage, com) God is the only one who can fill every longing of your heart. Phillippians 4:19.  Seek the voice of your savior first. Do this for your spiritual life and do this because next to you God, you are the greatest influence in your husband's life.  If you truly want to love, motivate, and influence your husband, your first step is to connect and stay connected with God.

Matthew 19:6- So then they are no longer two but one flesh.  Therefore what God has joined together let not man separate.

Marriage is a covenant
Dr. Scott Hahn made this statement: " A covenant is an exchange of persons as opposed to a contract, which is an exchange of promises".  A marriage covenant says "I give myself to you" A marriage contract says " I take you for me". God intended marriage to mirror his covenant relationship with his people: a lifelong relationship of unconditional love, reconciliation, submission, purity, and intimacy.

Proverbs 31:11-12- The Heart of her husband safely trusts her; so he will have no lack of gain.  She does him good and not evil all the days of her life.

I was his first
In a season of raising children, or pursuing a career, or investing in ministry, don't forget your time and love was his first.  Protecting your time together creates an environment where trust can grow.  In any relationship, if trust is lacking, the relationship will be fragile.  Ask yourself this question,  Am I a woman of loyalty and integrity?" If not, refocus and adjust your commitments and your character.

Proverbs 14:1- The wise woman builds her house, but the foolish pulls it down with her hands.

You're a Builder
Appreciate fine decor and quality finishes, but remember your home is primarily a place where souls are shaped for eternity.  Build his confidence with your words and actions.  Encourage him with love, grace, kindness, respect, support.  Whatever it is you and appreciate about him, tell him!

Proverbs 31:27- She watches the ways of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness

You're a Manager
Homemaking matter to God. you're called to manage your home and the atmosphere is often determined by your choices.  Study proverbs 31, Meditate on it.  Ask God to show you what these responsibilities may look like in your life.

Life as a wife is a noble and holy calling.  Live it from the truth of God's word
