As much as we may all wish we were in great health at all times, that isn’t always the case. In fact, try as we might to live a good life, we can often find ourselves with troublesome health problems from time to time. Whether this means we have to adjust our lifestyles for them, or they’re just smaller ailments that we need to navigate, it can certainly throw things off course. This is often why we can feel like we need to regain control of our health.
If this is how you’re feeling right now, you’ve come to the right place. In this blog post, we’re going to take a look at eight tips that will allow you to pull back control of your mind and body and start to feel amazing again. Let’s get started.
1. Consult the Right People
First of all, regardless of what’s going on with your health, you need to speak to the right people. If you need to find specialists that can help with whatever you have going on, this needs to be your priority. It’s important to get the right diagnosis and insight on your health first.
2. Seek Out Urgent Care
From here, you can then look to get the care and treatment you need. If there is something that you need to get sorted as a matter of urgency, this is what you need to focus on first. It’s important to make sure that your condition – and your health in general – doesn’t worsen.
3. Find the Best Remedies for You
If you know that you don’t have any pressing health issues, but there are things that you’d like to get under control, it’s important to seek out the best remedies. There are a few ways that you can look to do this. Initially, you might want to try a medically-backed treatment for things like atopic dermatitis treatment that will help you to make a lot of progress. But depending on your ailment, you may also want to consider natural options that will support your health going forward. Finding a mix of both traditional and alternative medicine, along with lifestyle changes, can help.
4. Look at Your Lifestyle Factors
Going forward, you will often then need to take a look at your lifestyle. It’s safe to say that our lifestyle choices do tend to impact our health levels significantly. So if you know that you’re not living the healthiest you could, it might be time to bring in some key swaps to your everyday life. Living a healthy lifestyle by taking supplements and looking to avoid alcohol can make a difference. You can also take a look at the following three points to add to this too.
5. Treat Your Body Kindly
To help improve your lifestyle overall, you should also look to take better care of your body. You’ll be able to transform your health and help your improvement by making sure that you’re eating less processed food, adding more nutrients into your diet, looking to get more exercise, and drinking more fluids. When your body is hydrated and fuelled with nutritious foods, it can make such a huge difference to how you feel.
6. Aim to Have More Energy
One thing that will really help you here and that will certainly make a difference is having more energy. If you’re feeling run down or lethargic, it’s not going to help you throughout the day. It’s also going to make life feel a little heavier too. So here, you’re going to want to work with ways to boost your energy levels every single day. From improving your sleep patterns to avoiding stress, there are many things you can do to improve this naturally.
7. Nurture Your Mind
The next thing you need to do here is make sure that you’re taking the best possible care of your mind too. It’s important to take your mental health seriously. If you’re dealing with stress or anxiety, you’ll want to work to improve that. Looking to take some time out and calm your mind can help. Things like going for a walk in nature, taking a bath, journaling, and meditation can help here.
8. Take it All Day by Day
Finally, you’re also going to need to make sure that you’re looking to take things day by day. Regaining control of your health and feeling better in yourself is very much a step-by-step process – all of your efforts compound over time. So try not to rush into things or feel like you need to see an immediate change right away. As long as you’re putting in the work, you should start to feel different over time and it will all feel worth it.
If you have concluded that an activity might not be for you anymore then you may be tempted to push on with it, just so you can make sure that you aren’t giving up on it. Although there is nothing wrong with this, you do need to make sure that you aren’t pursuing a hobby that just isn’t working out.

It’s Extrinsic
If a hobby is extrinsic then that means you aren’t doing it for yourself anymore. When you do something for yourself, it’s a self-propelled action that is driven by you and the goals you have for yourself. Nothing motivates you other than your very own thoughts and feelings. If you want to participate in something because you happen to love the challenge of it then this is great, but at the same time, if you don’t feel as though you are enjoying it or if you feel as though there are hiccups that you need to overcome then now is the time for you to be doing something about that. While sometimes you may find that your extrinsic efforts overlap with your intrinsic efforts, you do need to make sure that you aren’t doing something that makes someone else happy and not you.
It’s a Chore
Another reason why you may want to change your hobby is because you feel as though it is a chore. You may feel as though you are not doing what you can to enjoy your time because you are constantly trying to commit to a hobby that just is not for you. If you simply can’t sit through a hobby and it feels like more of a chore then now could be the time to let it go. If you sit down and knit a lot of the time or if you feel as though you would like to spend some time on the go, or even outside then now could be the time for you to do something about that. It may be that you take up hiking, or even hunting. You can find a lot of tactical helmet accessories online if you’d like to get more into things like this, and when you do, you will soon find that it opens up a new door for a lot of exciting things.
You Keep Putting Things Off
It’s probably time for you to reassess whether a hobby is right for you if you keep on putting things off to do with it. You may find that you love sewing more when there is less pressure on you to get the project done. Of course, you may also find that you can put a time limit on the sessions that you have so you can put it away and then come back to it at a later date. If you can do this then you will soon find that it is easier for you to target the result you need and it also helps to keep things nice and enjoyable for you. If you can keep things like this in mind then you will notice a huge improvement.
My heart swells with pride and joy as I reflect on the remarkable journey of my beloved daughter, who is on the path to becoming a teacher—a calling that has been her dream for as long as I can remember. Recently, she received acceptance letters from two esteemed institutions: the University of New Brunswick (UNB) and St. Thomas University (STU). She was accepted to UNB first, which was exciting, but she had her heart set on St. Thomas University. So, we made the decision to accept the UNB offer initially, knowing that she was still waiting to hear back from STU. After a bit of a wait, she finally received her acceptance to St. Thomas about a week ago. At the time, she was house-sitting for a friend, and when she came home, we all gathered together to read the acceptance letter. I could instantly tell how much she wanted this, and seeing her face light up with joy was a moment I'll never forget.
She is no stranger to St. Thomas University, as she's currently working on her Bachelor of Arts there, majoring in French with honours in Music. So, it's a place she's already comfortable with and familiar with, which makes it even more special that she's going to continue her journey there. Come September 2025, she will officially begin studying to become a teacher, and just 11 months later, she'll be known as Madam Grothe. It's such an exciting time for her, and I am incredibly proud of everything she's accomplished and everything that lies ahead.
As a parent, witnessing your child embark on a path that aligns with their passions and aspirations is a profoundly fulfilling experience. From the early days of her education, it was evident that she had a natural affinity for learning and a deep-seated desire to make a positive impact on others. Her decision to pursue a career in teaching is a testament to her dedication, compassion, and unwavering commitment to fostering growth and understanding in the next generation.
Throughout her academic journey, she has consistently demonstrated a thirst for knowledge and a resilience that has propelled her forward, even in the face of challenges. Her acceptance into both UNB and STU is a reflection of her hard work, perseverance, and the support of those who have believed in her abilities. Choosing to accept the offer from UNB initially, despite her preference for STU, showcases her adaptability and determination to make the most of every opportunity presented to her.
The moment she received her acceptance to St. Thomas University was a culmination of years of dedication and effort. Sharing that moment with her, as a family, was a poignant reminder of the importance of support, encouragement, and shared joy in the pursuit of one's dreams. Her journey thus far has been marked by a series of milestones, each contributing to her growth and development, and this new chapter promises to be equally, if not more, rewarding.
As she prepares to transition into the Teacher Education program at St. Thomas University in September 2025, the excitement and anticipation are palpable. This program will equip her with the tools, knowledge, and experiences necessary to excel in the classroom and beyond. The prospect of her becoming Madam Grothe in just 11 months is a source of immense pride and joy. It signifies not only the achievement of a personal goal but also the beginning of a new journey where she will have the opportunity to inspire, educate, and make a lasting impact on the lives of her future students.
Reflecting on her journey, it's clear that her path has been shaped by a combination of innate talent, hard work, and the unwavering support of family and mentors. Each step has been a building block, leading her closer to her goal of becoming an educator. As she embarks on this next phase of her academic and professional journey, the future holds boundless possibilities. Her passion for teaching, coupled with her dedication and compassion, will undoubtedly make her a remarkable educator who will inspire and positively influence many lives in the years to come.
In conclusion, my baby girl's acceptance into St. Thomas University and her decision to pursue a career in teaching are milestones that fill my heart with pride and joy. Her journey is a testament to her hard work, resilience, and unwavering commitment to her dreams. As she steps into this new chapter, I am confident that she will continue to excel and make a meaningful difference in the world, one student at a time.
