Anniversary week

Saturday May 4th is our 11th wedding anniversary, so this will be "LOVE" week, each day i am hoping to post something about love, wheter it be our proposal story, our dating story ( how we came to be), things about us etc..

(so handsome is my baby)

Dear Andrew,
I've known you my whole life. But only in my heart. I would dream of you for so long. So many represented you. My dad. Every Ken doll I ever played with. Every prince in every Disney cartoon. The lead character in every John Hughes film. And, then you became a reality. But only after I found me could I find you. Because you stood for the other half of me. You allowed me to be me. You've helped me achieve my dreams. I reach further knowing if I fall you'll be there to catch me. You've given me the greatest gift I can ever know. The gift of motherhood.

The life we've created together was made out of pure love. We will raise her with pure love. And, one day we will smile at each other knowingly as she finds her own soul mate. Thank you my love for the brilliant life we've created together. Thank you for making all my dreams come true.

You make me feel loved, you make me feel safe, but more importantly, you make me feel wanted.

We both knew our friendship would grow right from the very first day we spoke. But, neither one of us could begin to imagine the love we both feel, not exploding or thundering into our hearts, but just slowly growing into a beautiful relationship that only you and I can understand.

We don't even need to be together, we are never apart.

You are my soul mate,

my best friend,

my inspiration,

my love.

Love Always,

T

Weekend Recap

This week has gone by so fast and this weekend even faster, i think its because my parents have been here and time really should stop then.. instead it goes faster.

Friday: We went to visit some friends for lunch and i also had to get a nail fixed, i got my gel nails done on thursday and friday one fell off, so then i went and got that fixed and we headed to our friends that we stayed with first when we moved here for the 10 days, then my parents went to meet my sister's parents (biological), the food they had was amazing, it was like a buffet
Ham
baked potato
corn
peas
carrot
goulash
beans
bread sliced
bread rolls
pickles
beets

then dessert was truly amazing, so much there to choose from i was trying to behave, but there was
blueberry supreme( like a cheesecake but better)
blue berry pie
apple pie
pumpkin pie
cookies
and more

they love to entertain and my parents enjoyed seeing them, sister was there too off course, Olivia was being spoiled with so many relatives around.  They live about 40 mins out of town, but the drive was worth it.
we got home around 10 pm and i actually got really really sleepy and went to bed not long after. I slept until 10 am Sat morning

Saturday: Dad and hubby went to a mens breakfast at our church, while us ladies got our beauty sleep.
When we got up and got ready we drove 1 hour and 15 mins to visit our friends, the lady use to babysit me, it was very very nice to be with them, we had brunch there and then they took us to their farm, it was so much fun.
I'll let the pictures do the talking:

 these two are instant BFF'S

some of the animals

Dana and i- sexy boots isnt :p she babysat me  when i was very little

we also went to the Longest covered bridge in the world, Andrew and i have been there before so we took Brooke and my parents.

RIght now i am in the ER with my daddy - he is having a lot of chest pain and its making him feel pretty miserable so i made him come into ER…
The doctor has done an EKG, nothing has showed up, so doctor don't even know what to treat him for, told him it may be shingles and sometimes it takes a month or so to come out, so they gave him medication and sent him off again

Sunday: My parents went to church with us, then we had lunch and they left :( Brooke did better this time then other times before, she gets very upset and cries when they leave.
We went to lunch at a little Country restaurant called the Blue canoe
Brooke saying her good byes:

Pretty girl posing

going to miss those girls so much this summer, got to know them this year and i feel such a connection, love you girls!!

We had a baptismal at church tonight, i love watching people get their sins washed far away. we went to DQ for ice cream after and said our good byes to Jaredene, hurry up Sept and get back here so we can be together again

This week is Anniversary week, so check back for the LOVE stuff

School age years book review

Review of the Christian Momma's guide to the Grade school years

Every mom needs this book in their library
It is packed full of amazing advice, knowledge and hints and tips on how to survive all those attitudes that come with age and the school years.

I loved this book. The author is down to earth and has lots of insight into your child starting grade school, whether you choose public, private or homeschool. It's less about how to deal with the actual issues your child will face (although that's in there, too) and more about dealing with the "why" of the issues that come up. Like, why your child lied to the teacher (maybe they just didn't want to get in trouble). I bookmarked many of the lists in this book (I'm a list person!) like The Fifteen Factors, ways to build social-emotional skills in your kids, how to use your kids' interests to help them learn, and ways to incorporate scripture into praising your kids. I can see myself reading this book many times in the next few years!

I received this book for free in exchange for a honest review.

a penguin fan :) Made my day.

Her box is on its way, because i was sick it was late, i'm sorry Lindsey, but i am so thankful for this new friend that i have made :)

If you would like to take part in this very fun way to cheer someone up, check it out here:

Thankfulness

Some times we have so many thoughts going thru our heads and we are not sure how to get them on paper.

I had a chat with a friend who has an alcoholic husband and she was telling me the sad and very real burdens she has because of his alcoholism.  It comes before his 3 kids and her, she has dealt with this for 13 years and he always says he will change, but never do.
She told me today with tears in her eyes that i need to be thankful every day for having a christian husband.  it has stayed with me all day

I do need to realize how  blessed i am to be part of my hubbys life and serve God along with him… Sundays we know we are going to church and we both know we are going together with Brooke; a lot of us need to be more thankful for the little things in this world…we don't know what being an alcoholic's wife is really about, i know from what she told me that she isn't happy and needs out of there but has no where to go and she is scared that everyone will hate her for it…

I am thankful for my hubby
He is my soul mate, we raise our daughter together, yes we don't always agree but we have learnt to communicate our feelings and talk it thru instead of letting it fester and be a sore spot in our marriage. I am thankful that he choose me because he is my best friend and that day 16 years ago sitting across the dinner table from him being only 13 years old, i knew i was going to marry him, here we are still crazy in love and closer then ever.

I am thankful for my daughter
I feel so blessed when i think that God gave her to me- i knew nothing about being a mother and yet he trusted me to take care of her, to provide for her, to be her mommy.
I get so many compliments each day on her…she is so kind, loving, funny, beautiful, smart, has a heart for others; its a joy to be around her each day.

I am thankful for my parents
Yes they drive me crazy at times, but they did raise me to be the best person i can be, they loved me no matter what i did or said. I cannot imagine how people handle with losing their parent(s). They taught me about Jesus, they brought me to church 4 times a week ( YES, I know :p)

I am thankful for my siblings
growing up we would fight all the time, now my sister(Rachel) and i are so close, we talk for hours on the phone per week, my brother ( Mike)  is only ever a text msg away at any time.  Melanie ( my adopted sister) we are best friends, we laugh together, we cry, share joys and sorrows, get mad at each other then make up, it is so good to be living so close to her now

I am thankful for my in laws
my inlays and i don't always see eye to eye and sometimes we don't even wanna see each other but they gave me their son and have not once said anything negative to me because of my weird and quirky ways, and They really do spoil me when i am here at Christmas time.

I am thankful for the fresh air we breathe
imagine for a minute if the air outside was all congested and stale, we wouldn't be healthy, we would be all congested as well.
I am happy that i can step outside at any time and get a breathe of fresh air.

I am thankful for our church family
when we moved we didn't know what kind of church we would find but when we entered this one we felt at home, amazing pastor and wife, we are so blessed to be a part of their congregation.  Everyone there is so nice and kind and they like us

I am thankful for all of you
Sometimes online friends are better and care more then real life friends. Thats how i feel about you all, you are my friends even though we are only connected by each others blogs, i feel a closeness with you all.  Blogging has really opened up my view of things. {HUGS}

a skit they did, it was hilarious

this was a silent auction- beautiful china cups. Starting bids were $200 because that would support a bible school student in Guatemala- they made a lot of money :)

the worship team, the spirit of God was so amazing,
Our speaker was Melani Shock from Louisiana( she also blogs, her link is here)

it was a life changing weekend.

We had to be back there for 9 am when the skits started, so i got picked up at 7 and we went to the coffee mill for breakfast.. so delicious
Saturday at 3 pm it was over and then i met up with my Pastors wife from home and we chatted for a bit, she wanted to see Brooke anyway and Brooke was giddy to see her as well.

Ran a few errands and got home, relaxed a little because it was a fun filled 2 days at Ladies Conference,
Then at 6 pm

after travelling for 2 days, very tired and getting cranky
MY PARENTS CAME to visit.

It was like Christmas all over, they came bearing presents, my poor mom was so tired, she needed some extra sleep, so she has been sleeping since 8 pm.

Looking forward to the next week with them :)

Sunday:
We had a Graduation party at church for the Bible school students, we made it a pot luck, everyone got to meet my parents, it was fun...

How to take body measurements
http://www.sparkpeople.com/resource/fitness_articles.asp?id=1281
It's easy to get discouraged when you work so hard to lose weight and your efforts don't pay off on the scale. Seeing the same number week after week can make you want to drown your sorrows in a pint of Haagen-Daz. But wait! Before you pick up that spoon, take your measurements.
Body measurements can be a useful way to track your progress. Many times you'll see a loss of inches even if the scale isn't moving. To ensure accuracy, measure in exactly the same place and under the same conditions each time. Here are some instructions and tips to help you. When you're done measuring, you can track your measurements on SparkPeople to see how your body changes over time!
Common Body Measurements
Bust:
Place the measuring tape across your nipples and measure around the largest part of your chest. Be
sure to keep the tape parallel to the floor.
Chest: Place the measuring tape just under your breasts/pecs and measure around the torso while keeping the tape parallel to the floor.
Waist: Place the measuring tape about a 1/2 inch above your bellybutton (at the narrowest part of your waist) to measure around your torso. When measuring your waist, exhale and measure before inhaling again.
Hips: Place the measuring tape across the widest part of your hips/buttocks and measure all the way around while keeping the tape parallel to the floor.
You can use your waist and hip measurements to calculate your Waist to Hip ratio, an assessment that can help you determine your health risk. Use SparkPeople's Waist to Hip Ratio Calculator to determine your ratio.
Thigh: Measure around the largest part of each thigh.
Calves: Measure around the largest part of each calf.
Upper arm: Measure around the largest part of each arm (above the elbow). Forearm: Measure around the largest part of each arm (below the elbow). Neck: Measure around the largest part of the neck.
Tips for Measuring
  • When taking measurements, stand tall with your muscles relaxed and your feet together.
  • When measuring, apply constant pressure to the tape (so it doesn't sag) without pinching the skin.
  • Use a flexible measuring tape, such as plastic or cloth.
  • Measure under the same conditions each time, such as wearing the same clothes (or none at all).
  • Measure yourself in front of a mirror to make sure the tape is positioned correctly. If possible,
have someone else do the measuring for you.
  • The place to take some of these measurements will vary slightly from person to person. To ensure
accuracy, just remember to take them in the same place on your body each time.
So don't let the scale get you down! Losing inches means you'll be wearing a smaller size in no time! Everyone will be commenting on how great you look and the number on the scale will suddenly seem a lot less important.

Friday Confessional

Confessional Friday {inspired by A Blonde Ambition}

1) I confess to you that i am so excited that my parents will arrive in about 36 hours, i cannot even sleep tonight

2) I confess my daughter is so intelligent that she makes me giddy when she comes home to tell me that her teacher has asked her to do a solo for the end of year concert

3) I confess that this is my first week of eating "clean" and i have lost 7 lbs but tonight i almost caved for cake with lots of icing, but i didn't.

4) I confess that my 11th anniversary is coming up and i fall more in love with my husband every single day, when he tells me he loves me i melt.

So what do you confess this week?

Marcie

My heart is heavy
the tears wont stop

MY vision is blurred from the tears..

my Cousin Marcie {who you all lovingly sent cards and presents and money to at Christmas time during the 30 days of Cards for Marcie event}
She isn't doing well right now, the tumor is choking a main blood vessel to her heart, she is very weak. unless a miracle happens very soon she will get her miracle in heaven, even though none of us want her to go, we all know it is the best thing for her. She is in hospital right now.
She was born with Spinal Bifida, has never walked in her life, had had more surgeries then i can count on one hand, has never lived a normal life, she has had a boyfriend and they would have gotten married but he passed away, she has had so much sadness in her life. So i am praying for her to have her miracle here or in heaven, where she will have a new body, new legs, and be able to walk and spend time on streets of gold.

and now i am crying again

Last night i had to do something that really hurt, i wont make it home before she is gone according to Dr's( her sister will be home this weekend instead of next month as per doctors), so i emailed her and did my good byes in an email, my heart broke and i shook with tears.. how can this be happening... didn't she go thru enough her whole life, she is just 29.

Life is so so unfair and we can ask Why all we want, but God has the answers and he dont always let things happen how we think they should happen.

Marcie is like a sister to our family, when i was home at christmas time we hugged each other and cried because we kinda knew that it would be the last time we could do that here on earth.

My heart is so heavy and i dont know what else to do at this point.

I appreciate prayers for her family and for her, lets just pray for God's will to be done in this situation, if its his will to heal her then we are thrilled, but either way she will get her miracle.

I love you so much Marcie and if you get the chance to read this, please know that you are my other sister and i love you so much. xox

Update

An Update on Me

I know some of you are wondering what is happening with me, i haven't been online for bloging or checking blogs...

I have been the sickest i have ever been in my life, now let me tell you how it happened....

Friday Night i ended up in the Emergency room with a bladder flare up, this lasted all day and into Saturday, i have never known it to last so long, then all day sunday i was feeling horrible as well, Sunday at 2:30 am i had to go back to the ER, they took one look at me and took me instantly back to a room and doctor came in shortly there after, started pain meds and wanted to get my pain under control, this pain wasn't normal IC pain though and i tried to tell them this, this pain felt more like kidney stones so they started doing x-rays, blood work, ultrasounds etc, nothing showed up anywhere but the pain was still there and not getting any better.

They gave me more pain medication.... it seemed that it helped a little...
then last night i was puking and very nauseated.

They gave me more medications etc, i was feeling fine by this morning so they let me come home, they called me around 4 pm and told me results of my ultrasound came back and their was an erupted cyst on my left ovary that erupted. I am so thankful that it's gone

Then i got to thinking-- imagine if this was the pain all this time and i was being treated for IC...

Thanks so much for all the prayers and well wishes.
Love to all
