Weekend Recap

Friday:
Woke up with yet ANOTHER head cold.. still went into work because it is year end for my office so there is so much work to do, not the perfect time for someone to start a new job, but oh well I am here and I am doing well.
This was my desk on friday- lip balm, halls, sanitizer, advil, kleenex and hot tea

After work we picked up pizza for Brooke and Jaradene for dinner, we brought Brooke home then we had a date..
we decided to go buy groceries( so romantic eh), I was feeling so miserable though, so we got groceries and went to eat, we went to Mary Browns and had fried chicken, taters and a pasta salad, it was so good. We were not out very long though, but it was nice to just be him and I. We had a nice conversation as well.

Saturday:
I stayed in bed most of the day because I had a fever of 101 most of the day and my throat feels like it is on fire- pretty sure I have strep throat again..

hubby worked most of the day and brooke went to a friends house, so I focused on recovery as i have my surgery in 23 days and I need to be completely better by then.
It was my Grandpa's and Step grandma's anniversary today and because he is still in the hospital, they went there to celebrate, here are some pictures:
My poppa is in the blue, with his wife beside him, my bro( in the green) and my uncle

My cute lil cosin, Cortaz.

Enjoying their anniversary dinner at the hospital, make the best of what you can <3

thats my mom putting his watch on him

He had a great day.

I later made some chicken soup to try and help me feel better because chicken soup is good for what ails ya.

Sunday:
We woke up to yet another winter storm, i stayed in bed while everyone else went to church, then I lost my voice, so it has been a quiet day around here  ( Wink)
I layer around most of the day, I did some laundry and watched a lot of Heartland, I am loving that show, its like I feel like I am in the show with them, i love it when shows do that.
Cooked a roast beef, potatoes, corn and turnip for lunch, it was super good, even if it killed my throat to eat it, I am resting the rest of the day and hoping I can work tomorrow.  church was cancelled because of the storm.
A friend called and wanted us over for supper it's been a while since we saw them so I went over, it was such great food and nice visiting.

have a great week :)

Truthful Thursday- Your Dream job

If your new, go here and learn about Truthful Thursdays

5) What would your dream job be
If I could have any job in the world and if money wasn't an issue, I would just be a home maker, a wife and a mommy, I would volunteer at her school...

but because money is important if I want to buy shoes

I would love to be a office manager or a HR manager in a busy office where I would love my job and enjoy the people I work with, I have worked at many offices thru a temp agency and it was my favourite, I am so blessed with my new job ( been in it almost a month now) and I really really love it, I could stay here and be happy as well.

What would your dream job be?

Wednesdays for Women- Week 2- Joy

{To Inspire and Encourage}

For the next few weeks I want to share a little study about the Fruit of the Spirit.
Week Two: JOY

joy
joi/
noun
  1. 1.
a feeling of great pleasure and happiness.
    "tears of joy"

    synonyms:delight, great pleasure, joyfulness, jubilationtriumphexultation,rejoicinghappiness, gladness, gleeexhilarationexuberanceelation,euphoriablissecstasyrapture;

Do you ever wake up in the morning and you are filled with so much joy, for no apparent reason but you just know this is going to be a great day...

Then you can't find your favourite outfit
then you spill your coffee over your outfit and have to change again
then the traffic is causing you to be late
then an email form your boss is taken the wrong way
your lunch don't taste the way it should

It don't take long for the joy to dwindle down does it

Joy need s to be so much more though, it is so easy to let circumstances take over our joy and we are going around all day saying
"Wish I stayed in bed today"
or
"Can this day get worst" only to find out it can and does..
do you feel like that?
or
is that really just me who feels that way...

You feel the weight of the world all on your shoulders, you cannot wait to leave the office and go home and curl up in your pjs with your favourite show on the TV, supper on your lap and kids all behaving, husband is staying out of your way and you are ready to relax.

You plan to go to bed early and sleep the day off because you are home now and it can only get better..

then you get a phone call with some disturbing/bad news...

How Joyful do you feel then..

We have to stop letting circumstances destroy our joy, some people think Joy should be circumstance based like they think happiness should be, not true. Off course it is ok to feel sadness, we are human after all and it is how we are made..

We need to activate our joy, let others see we are joyful.
When people see us always with a smile on, it is contagious, we  will make them curious as to what we are so joyful about, that lady next to us at the cash may be having a "non joyful" day, the person next to us at the traffic light, the person on the other side of the phone may need our friendly self to give them that smile, they can hear a smile in our voice, it is proven, try it.

So today, Show someone JOY, give them that smile, take away their frown, it will make you feel better and when you are having a tough day, think about that person who is hurting more then they are, show them the love you have.

It will make a difference, I promise

My Job

Thought I would give an update on my new job and brag about how blessed I am to have this job.

I started with Dept. of Fisheries and Oceans on March 17, as an Account representative, I got my own nice brand new office, you can still smell the new smell of the carpet etc.

I don’t feel like I deserve a job like this, but here I am.

I am in the accounts Receivable dept., so I am entering invoices to be paid, I am also making sure all invoices are to their correct dept. at the correct time.  It is a challenging job at times, I am on my 4th day today and I have to say I love it a lot!!

It could def be my dream job- right now it is just casual, which means I am here for 90 days which takes me to close to the end of July.

My manager is incredible; she is so easy going and a great person.

The people I work with are amazing, i thought it was going to be hard to find people as good as my last c workers, but these people are sweet. The guy who is training me is so much fun, he has kids my age, so we have that in common.

I am so thankful to have that job.
Because I do so much invoicing, 2 screens are great.

My book shelf and coat closet

another view of my desk- Pictures of Brooke and my sweet nephews

just back from lunch- lunch bag still there

I really love my job, i am taking over another position now for a full time person that left for some time, so I am doing licensing for all over Canada.

Weekend Recap

Weekend Recap

Friday:
I am writing this from work on friday on lunch break and just getting a head start on my weekend recap, i usually write it every evening during the weekend, but here we go

My alarm didn't go off this morning, well it did but I never heard it bc silly me I had the sound off, im glad Brooke woke up, she sleeps with me when Daddy is away.. ( 24 more hours;) )
So we got ready in a hurry, I dropped her of at school and I left for work, I stopped for coffee and a muffin at Tim Hortons, I needed the cafeine today.
I am so glad I put lunches together last night so I didn't have to do that this morning.
I got to work and I checked email, replied and then started on my daily task- I had to complete some cash books this morning, I love working here ( a fun update on Tuesday).
Then I went into some training to learn some new things. I had a great teacher and it has been fun.
After work I dropped Brooke's clothes of to her at a hotel because she was having a sleep over birthday party there, then I went home to take  nap before I went to a friends house for a house warming party, it was a nice time:

I didn't get any pictures of the guest of honour..

Came home and I had a friend here with Jaredene, we did nails, junk food, movie and lots of fun. It was much needed.

Saturday:
We had to go in town for 10 am to pick up Brooke, then we came home and went back to bed and slept til 1 pm, we had a really late night
Then we went to the mall so I could get a couple things I needed, then we went to the airport to pick up my honey
Here is his plane

She is excited to see Daddy

Mommy and her little lady <3

I made pulled pork for dinner( big mistake though, more info coming), then hubby and I watched hockey...
I got in bed and pain hit me very hard, I was in a lot of pain until 4 am...

Sunday:
WE had sunday morning service which was incredible, we had a guy come to know Jesus, and another girl receive the holy spirit, they both got baptized in the PM service.

Back to work tomorrow, I am excited to go to work :)

Happy 30th Birthday to Our Angel

Your birthday is here again, it is a birthday that I could NEVER forget, when we have a family as big as ours, it is easy to forget birthdays, thanks to face book now I get a notification... but your birthday has been on my mind for the past few weeks

From the time you were an infant baby to a toddler to a tween-ager, a teenager, a grown adult, you had a special place in my heart that can never be filled by another person, this place only belongs to you.

So often I go to msg you on FB to tell ya something that I knew you would be happy for, you wanted to know how Brooke and Andrew was every time we talked, you loved them both as they loved you.

You liked to do crafts- painting, cross stitch, plastic canvas, knit, anything that kept you busy, you enjoyed.
You loved to go for walks in the evenings with a friend, they would roll you in your wheel chair, sometimes stopping for a ice cream or at Jessie's store for a treat. You always had a funny story to tell us.
I think of all our trips to Baie Verte with sis and Ninny ( Stephanie and Jennifer), you and i would sit in the car most of the times just laughing and chatting about what ever.

We had a lot of fun times together from the time i cooked you hamburgers, to the conversations while you were in the hospital, I miss you so much Marcie

You with your nephew who you adored.

This birthday you have a cancer free body, you have no spinal bifida, you do not need a wheel chair, you are celebrating with the angels with a brand new body, I can just see you jumping around as you blow out your birthday candles, you are free of leg braces, free of sickness, you are in Heaven and even though I miss you, you would not want to come back to this crazy world.

You were incredible in every thing you did or said- you loved helping people, you loved having people visit you, you loved hanging out with friends, you always had a good word to say to encourage someone. You always had something encouraging on your Facebook, you are missed so much.
Today I went and visited your face book, there are so many people commenting and saying they miss you, you were loved by everyone.

To say I miss you is an under statement, when Rachel told me she was expecting again, the first person I went to tell was you, only to find out you were not there anymore, Taylor misses his Auntie Marcie, Stephanie misses you- you guys spent so much time together, Jennifer- misses you, she misses telling you all about Taylor, even though i'm sure you can look down and see him every second of every day, Stefan misses you- he feels the pain of you not there when he walks by your room, your Mom and Dad- they miss you more then words can every say, they say time heals but it really don't... I miss you more now then I ever did.

I hope this is the best Birthday you ever had.

Happy Birthday to our Angel

I love and miss you
xo

Confessional Friday

It's Friday again, this week has gone very fast and this week I am confessing...

1) I am patently counting down the hours until my hubby is back (Saturday at 12:30 pm) , I miss him and I enjoy the one on one time with Brooke but I like him being home with us too. He had to go to Newfoundland, ( home for us), for a conference where he is speaking, so its great experience for him and I know he is enjoying this part of his career, but I miss him

2) I love my new job so much, I have already worked an hour over time because I am trying to catch up on things that were not completed before I started, so I am working on that plus a lot of cash books to complete, check back on Tuesday for my job update.

3) Tonight Brooke is at a sleep over, and I am home ALONE- I am so excited to have the whole bed to myself, do what ever  want, I am soooo excited, is that so wrong ;)

4) I am excited to be planning another Vacation for Late August for just me this time, I am thinking about going to Colorado and spend some time with my sister and kiddies.

What about you, whats on your mind?

Wednesdays for Women-Week 1- Love

{To Inspire and Encourage}

For the next few weeks I want to share a little study about the Fruit of the Spirit.

Week One: LOVE

All the fruits of the spirit are held together by "Love"

There are many types of love:

Love between a married couple
Love between parents and children
Love between friends

This week we will focus on love, the first fruit of the Spirit given in Galatians 5:22. To understand the fruit of love begins with looking at God and His righteousness. The people of Israel worshiped God and were taught to fear Him because of His power and majesty. Israel knew God to be the loving One who would keep His covenant with His people as well as the righteous judge ever true to His word. The nation of Israel was told to love their God with all their heart, soul, and might in Deuteronomy 6:5. This week’s lesson will look at biblical teaching concerning love, to help us understand what it means to make known the fruit of love through our lives.

It may seem cliche, but Jesus' willingness to die for the world's sins is the epitome of love. It is the example of love that we should all strive toward. Jesus didn't have to die for our sins. He could have given in to the demands of the Pharisees. He could have said he was not the Messiah, but he did not. He knew what telling the truth meant, and he was willing to die up on that cross - a terrible and torturous death. He was beaten and cajoled. He was pierced. And yet, he did it all for us, so that we would not have to die for our sins.

Questions you can answer in the comments or just for you to think on:
How can you become more loving toward others?
Think of one way you might demonstrate love to someone today.

Where my heart is

They say Home is where the heart is..

Well right now I am pretty home sick
This is where I grew up, I lived here until I went away for college

I lived here from the time Brooke was born up until 2012 when we packed everything in a moving truck and moved thousands of miles from home and i can't link ya to the story bout that because a lot of blog posts got deleted... LONG story and I am still not sure why;)

Tonight I would love to walk in my mom's house,
*sit on their couch,
*listen to them chat about their days,
*find out what is happening in their one horse town,
*listen to them laugh at something Brooke does,
*listen to them talk to their grand kids,
*get a hug from them,
*have a cup of tea with mom and her best friend,
*sing some songs with the guitars out,
*go out to visit friends,
*stay up late laughing and talking and just doing nothing..
*eat lots of home made food
*my moms bread
*visit with my grandpa
*eat some fried chicken from the nearby restaurant
*fight with my brother( we still do)
* go to church with them

To put it lightly homesickness usually passes quickly, but this has been hanging on for a few days now, I think its bc my hubby is gone home for work this week ,  I am just starting my new job so even if I could have gone, I wouldn't have taken time of already.. but I need me some family time. I am not sure if my family is planning to come here this year, we can only hope.

I know my family is my hubby and my daughter now, but I can still wish for home time.

If I did go home, i would want to be back here..
Is home really where your heart is, or is your heart at home?

Weekend Recap

Friday:
After all the snow we got thursday evening and into the night, it was a beautiful spring like temps and I went for a nice long walk with Jaradene, we just needed fresh air and a chat and we got both. Love her so much.
Hubby wanted to take us to dinner, so he came home to get us and we went back in town around 5:30 or so, we weren't sure what we wanted so instead of a sit down restaurant, we all went to the mall food court, never even did a bit of shopping but it was ok, I wasn't in the mood.  We took J to the bible school to hang out with some friends for the weekend and we went grocery shopping, I am so glad for the sales we got, i got my final cheque from my old job and it was so big, I'll never spend it all, it was $63.01, too funny- I was expecting a much bigger check and a bonus but they are not giving me my bonus because I am no longer employed there, but that is ok because I am moving on to a new career, new and better things I say.  Off course I was upset over the bonus, but I am keeping the peace and who knows what may happen.
Watched some hockey- bruins and they won off course, why would i expect anything different!!

Saturday:
We had to be up and on the go for 8:15 am, Brooke had her first quizzing tournament, good thing it was only 15 mins from here, hubby had to go into work for over time ( vacation is in exactly 2 months),  we stopped for coffee and went for the tournament.
Pictures will tell the take further

Here they are with the first team they were up against and their coaches- Fonda and Jen, we love those ladies, they are incredible.

Waiting for the results of the first quiz which moved them up to 2nd place over all.

My sister is a coach for the senior team so we got to see them as well, Brooke and her cousin Olivia

This pretty girlie turns 3 on Thursday, we missed her birthday party today though, that made me sad

Here they are with their 2nd place trophy

The highest scoring quizzers.
I am so so proud of my girl, she amazes me beyond what i ever imagined, we always get compliments how incredible she is, I am proud of her.
We took her to piano and hubby and i had a wal mart date ;) I got a new dress but its to small.. so I need to return it :(, i have to buy some more dress clothes, its a dress up job and I am so excited.
We came home and both took a nap, then we had the Saturday night regular nachos, Brooke has a friend over for a sleep over and now I'm curled up with some tea and watching heart land

Sunday:
We had morning service, I had asked for a meeting with the ladies after service so I could get some food ready for the big community dinner we have coming up, we came home had lunch, we napped, went back to pm service, we had our grand opening of our cafe tonight, it was nice. We got home and had no power so we went back into town and ate, then when we got home, the power was back.
We take our electricity for granted, so thankful that we have it.
New job begins tomorrow morning ( Monday) I am excited for new things :)

Have a great week
