Companies Who Give Back

For years to come, the pandemic will influence so many different aspects of the economy. With this in mind, there are companies who make it their mission to give back to the community and sponsor charities that are near and dear to their hearts. It is widely known that customers today want to support businesses that give back. According to Forbes, “When given the choice between two similar brands or products, 71% of consumers will purchase from a purpose-driven company over the alternative. Nearly 80% of consumers are more likely to remember a company with a strong purpose and 4.5 times more likely to recommend it to friends and family.”

If you’re interested in supporting some companies who give back, here are a few companies ranging in size that pride themselves on their charitable initiatives.

Inkwell Press

With a mission to help their customers be more productive and hit their goals, the woman-owned business Inkwell Press focuses its philanthropy efforts on giving back to local schools and women starting their lives over. Tanya Dalton, Inkwell’s CEO, and founder wanted to give back to teachers, as she was once a teacher herself. This led her to start Quills for a Cause with its two main initiatives being Get 1 & Give 1 and the New Life Initiative.

The Get 1 & Give 1 cause is focused on teachers and students. At the beginning of every academic year, they donate a planner for every planner that was purchased the past year to teachers and homeschool parents. Last year alone, they were able to donate over $100,000 worth in planners.

The New Life Initiative is focused on women who are wanting a fresh start and working to create new lives for themselves. Inkwell also donates second-hand and surplus items to battered women shelters and residential treatment centers to help these individuals get back on their feet!

Bob’s Discount Furniture

Bob’s Discount Furniture is a low-price furniture and bedding retailer that prides itself on providing quality furniture for an affordable price. But that’s not all the owner Bob Kaufman, founder, and CEO prides himself on as the company has various charitable efforts.

Bob’s Discount Furniture Charitable Foundation and Bob’s Outreach program have worked hard to provide aid and donations to hundreds of organizations and individuals with $2.75 million in donations distributed each year to various charity groups. Some of these philanthropy groups include social service agencies, charities, home groups, local fundraisers, children’s charities, and school service groups.

Most recently Bob’s Cafe is running an initiative to give back to children’s hospitals. Every store features a cafe with complimentary coffee and baked goods with the opportunity to make a donation to Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. From now until March 31, 2022, they will be matching any donation met to benefit multiple locations.

Love with Food

Love with Food is a snack subscription box service that delivers clear snacks directly to your home on a monthly basis. The Food with Love team will search for the latest and greatest emerging snack brands with clean ingredients that are ethically sourced. They will then curate a box of all gluten-friendly snacks and send them to your home for one down payment for the subscription box.

From there the Food with Love company will then donate one meal for each month that you’re a member and one for each purchase you make, through their partnership with Feeding America! In addition, every dollar helps provide 10 meals secured by Feeding American and local member food banks. According to their website, they have already donated 17 million meals to date! What a great way to discover new snacking options while also helping to feed others!

These are only a few options of different companies to support that give back to their local communities, however, there are many more to choose from. So many customers today are looking to support companies who give back. The more we as a society of consumers trend toward expecting this from the businesses we buy for, the more we will be able to help others through not only these trying times but the trying times of the future as well.
