Weekend Recap ( short version)

I already did a weekend recap but my blog crashed and I lost it, so here it is a short version

Friday:
I hosted a baby shower for a beautiful mom to be

One of her most loved presents- this was made by a older lady in our church, it was all handmade

Saturday:

Went to a friends Summer cottage

(My Entire world) 

I was so relaxed sitting here over looking the St John river, I am not one to relax much so it felt good to sit here with no cell service or electronics and just enjoy our friends 

Sunday:

We had church, I helped in the nursery again, it was fun. 

We had a leadership meeting after morning service, then came home, Brooke went to a friends house... 

I napped, then went to PM service, then after service about a dozen of us went out for Italian food, I love that place so much.

Confessional friday

I confess to you 

1) I am spending far to much at work lately, I am going in an hour or more early in the morning and staying several hours after I should be home, my hubby has been so good though, he comes home gets dinner ready, cleans the kitchen (!!!), he is a keeper that one

2) I am hosting a baby shower tonight for a sweet baby boy who will be arriving in Sept, we are going with a blue, green theme, it looks pretty, not sure who all is coming but I am prepared, it is gonna be so much fun. 

3) I am loving Periscope, do you use it.. follow me: @terrigrothe

I follow a friend who shows us what she is cooking each day, I love it. 

4) We are going to the Cottage this weekend, it will be a good time, I love being away from the "real" world, I have been working far to much... it is because it is a new project and there are so many problems, it wasn't tested very well.

Mother/Daughter Relationship

This is a topic that makes me sad and happy at the same time, confused yet, ok let me explain :) 

We will start with the happy first 
This topic makes me happy because I am a mom to a daughter- Mother’s and Daughters should be friends for 1. the changes that a girl goes thru, she needs a mom or a strong female in her life. 2. Someday {right now you don’t believe that if you are younger} she will be your best friend. 3. She is a role model for you, she will teach you to cook, clean and be a great wife if you go that route. 
I want the relationship I have with Brooke to make her happy all of her life, I want her to come to me if she needs a friend, if she has a question, or just a shopping buddy. 
We have that relationship now, we make sure we tell each other every day that we love each other, I still tuck her in at night even though she is 27 days away from her 12th birthday{ WHAT, how}, of course we have mini arguments because of her age, and the changes in her life, I really work hard to make her understand life and how it isn’t always fair. 

It makes me sad because I barely have a relationship with my mom- which really hurts, we have never been ‘friends’, I do not go to her for advice, it is hard because I want Brooke to see how happy it should be, but she is seeing more and more that we do not have a relationship. 

I could not tell you the last time mom and I both said we love each other , I do know that if something happened to me, Mom would be the first person here, she is giving person and loves to take care of people, it is the actual communication that we are lacking.  I would love for things to get better but I am not sure they will, my mom has two friends in particular that are putting wedges further and further between us, there is no telling her what is happening because she do not see it the same we do, it is so frustrating.. any advice on how to fix this problem and become friends with my mom  

Weekend Recap

Friday: 

I left work when the day was over unlike the last 10 days where I have worked 10-12 hour days and I needed to leave early as I was mentally drained. 

We were gonna have a date but then we decided to make a family date and we went for chinese food, went for a drive, we laughed a lot- mainly them at me ;) It was a fun family night which are the best nights, I love dates with my husband but we are gonna have two weeks alone so there will be lots of dates. 

Came home and worked on my MAC- it seems like a virus and it is so hard to get rid of it..


Saturday:
Happy Independence Day!

We went shopping for groceries and also for some summer clothes for Brooke, had a nice chat with my dad and brother- it made me so happy to start my day of with that.
We worked on invites for Brooke's birthday, how is it so close. [We are doing a geocaching party, her cake is ordered and it is gonna be so nice, she is having 5 girls to spend the day with and have fun.]
We watched the 4th of July fireworks- they are always so nice.. I would love to be an American ( i think)
Facetimed with my sister and babies, then watched some OITNB- I am addicted
Made a taco salad and jalepno poppers

Sunday:
Last day of Summer Summit, we usually go all week long but because of my long hours we couldn't... let me just say- those long hours are over time and I am not told to work them, but I do love the pay cheque;)
I helped out in the nursery class today, I had these two cuties,

we had fun but I was exhausted when it was over.
Tonight we went to the last service Summer Summit, we went to dairy queen after with my sister and her beauty of a daughter and the new baby cooking in her belly oven, I am hoping it is a boy this time.. Olivia- her daughter was happy to see Brooke

Confessional Friday

I Confess I haven't felt much like blogging for a few weeks, I have a bunch of post scheduled so they are the only ones going live around these parts.. 

I have a jaw fracture and it is so very very painful... surgery on July 16th to fix this...

They are not sure what could have caused it but the pain is to much. 

I Confess I bought the prettiest Maxi dress to wear to a wedding we have coming up at the end of the month 

I Confess I walked around in these shoes all day and my feel feel fine, they are actually really comfortable to walk in, scored them for $9

I confess I am looking forward to date night tonight, my husband is the most amazing guy in the world who loves me so unconditional.
