Integrating Fitness into your Daily Life

Integrating fitness into your everyday life is as much a mindset as it is a practice, you need to switch your thinking from fitness as an "at the gym" activity to something you are involved with every moment of the day. When you change your attitude like this you find that all of a sudden opportunities to improve your health and fitness are everywhere, and completely free.

Get more active

To integrate fitness fully into your everyday life you need to escape from the idea that fitness and exercise are something you do at a particular time in a particular place. Of course, this also works, but it's less effective overall.

When you think of your life in terms of fitness you make choices that lean towards fitness over non-fitness. Taking the stairs instead of the lift, for instance, or taking a walk on your break instead of sitting in the communal area. Use a step counter for motivation.

Change up your routine

Maybe you've found the perfect exercise routine for your life, such as Fitness 19 and you want to stick with it. That's fine and good. It's good that you have settled on something that works for you, but if you start to lose interest it could be down to the routine and not your motivation.

If you find yourself starting to lose interest and procrastinate it's time to change things up. So what does this mean? Well, you could go swimming instead of running, or cycling instead of swimming. Try yoga or spin instead of weight lifting.

Make a schedule

Although it's best to think of your fitness in terms of a lifestyle rather than one-off activities, making a schedule for your fitness activities is also an excellent idea. Your more formal activities at the gym or with your sports team are the main events in your fitness lifestyle.

When you have some of these main events scheduled it provides excellent motivation for you to keep up the smaller efforts in your lifestyle routine. All of these small efforts add up and support your fitness goals and your health.

Find something you love

Naturally, if you love to do something you want to do it more often, so it follows that if you find a fitness activity such as cycling that you enjoy it will be far easier to integrate fitness into your life than it would be otherwise. Getting out and about on the best titanium road bikes will be a joy rather than a chore and your motivation and fitness levels will grow because of it!

In many ways, this is the secret formula for fitness lifestyle integration. If you contrive your fitness and pursue activities you don't have a passion for it leads to procrastination and low-performance outcomes.

Get into habits

Whether you like it or not, you have habits. These develop over time and are linked to your moods and mental persuasions. Some of them are healthy, others, not so much. Cultivating positive fitness habits is a cornerstone of the fitness lifestyle.

There's good news and bad news. The bad news is that healthy fitness habits can be a challenge to establish; the good news is that your fitness habits support the cultivation of positive habits, making them easier.

Aaptiv

This App Will Help You Achieve Your Fitness Goals
While everyone knows it’s important to exercise regularly, most people aren’t aware that the benefits of working out regularly can be no less than life changing. Here are just some of the few:
1) People who make time for the gym regularly have lower blood pressure, resting heart rate, and healthier cholesterol levels than those who don’t.
2) Exercise makes you happy and the research shows it. Your brain runs on a chemical cocktail and when you work out, all the chemicals that make you feel good are released.
3) You’ll get sick less often. No one ever realizes how tortuous the common cold can be until they get it. But once they get it,  they think it’s the end of the world. Thankfully, exercise makes you much more resilient to and able to fight off bacteria and viruses, so you can spend your sick days on the beach instead of in bed.
4) Stay younger for longer. Imagine spending your golden years and not being able to lift a carton of milk. Sounds scary, right? Well, working out slows your deterioration to keep your body mentally and physically sharp.

In fact, you need to make time for at least 30 minutes of physical activity every day of the week, or else after just one week your body goes through some pretty shocking changes. After just seven days of laying on the couch and eating potato chips, you’re already at an increased risk of developing type II diabetes, heart disease, losing muscle mass, and piling on body fat. Not to mention an increased risk of dementia and loss of gray matter mass. Scared yet?
While all those things are enough to frighten anyone into the nearest gym today, I know it can be hard to maintain motivation and dedication to stay fit in the long game, and there are always going to be weeks where you just won’t be able to find any time at all to get in a proper workout. This is why fitness apps are booming in popularity. Many people are using them to live a healthier lifestyle with their limited time and motivation.
There are very many smartphone apps available that help you become more fit, but Aaptiv in particular stands out among the rest.  This app skyrocketed to the top of Apple’s health and fitness category and grew their subscribers by over 10x since last summer to over 200,000 subscribers.

Whether you need help motivating from a trainer for inspiration, or need to find new ways to workout, Aaptiv has the perfect solution.
Aaptiv further sets itself apart from the competition by being the only fitness company that focuses exclusively on audio content. Most fitness companies offer trackers and graphs and text instructions that tell you what to do but do a poor job of really getting you to do it. Aaptiv stands out by giving you actionable, fun workout classes right in your ear.

Aaptiv was formed in 2015 after their founder, Ethan Agarwal, gained some weight on the grind of business school. After graduating, like many studious business grads do, Ethan found himself in a fast-paced, demanding job that required a lot of travel and an unpredictable schedule. Ethan wanted to get back in shape but after evaluating his existing options, he came back empty-handed. Studio fitness classes had strict scheduling and cancelling policies, and Ethan was rarely in the same city long enough for a trainer to make sense for him. Aaptiv was his solution.
Today, Aaptiv has a team of seventy-employees and is growing quickly, bringing us #1 audio-fitness app. Aaptiv offers thousands of trainer-led, music-driven audio fitness workouts so you can work out when you want, where you want, the way you want. Take classes in treadmill, outdoor running, yoga, strength training, and much more.
The best part about Aaptiv is you can work out anywhere. Whether you’re at home or the office, many of Aaptiv’s classes require zero equipment. This makes Aaptiv perfect for anyone on a tight schedule that can’t afford a trip to the gym.
Here’s how it works:
You sign up for Aaptiv here and download the app.

Once that’s done, you’ll have access to all of Aaptiv’s trainer-led classes.

Aaptiv’s filter will help you find the perfect workout based on your type, difficulty, and the amount of time you have to dedicate to your workout.

Oh, and you can set to filter by trainer and genre of music too. Did I mention that each Aaptiv class is set to sweet tunes? And it’s not talking elevator music, Aaptiv uses top-tier artists like JT and Jay-Z.
And the experience really is just like have a trainer right next to you. Right in your ear will be a real-life person encouraging you to push on, keep taking deep breaths, and to correct your posture.
You’ll also never gotten bored with Aaptiv’s workouts. There are 15 active trainers who create more than 30 classes new classes every week, so you’ll never run out of a workout to do and can stay motivated. In summary, Aaptiv is a great audio-fitness app that you can use anywhere to help you achieve your goals and one that can’t come more highly recommended!
You can start your free trial with Aaptiv here.

To Use Technology To Improve Your Health

Technology has become a part of every part of our lives. Even though it can sometimes be overwhelming, it can also be very helpful in our everyday lives. When it comes to healthcare, technology is becoming more and more important. With that in mind, here are a few ways that technology is making you healthier and happier.

You Can Monitor Your Own Health

Now that smartwatch technology has progressed, the vast majority of fitness trackers can sync with your smartphone. In addition to measuring heart rate and temperature, modern fitness trackers can also record how far you've walked or run, how long you've been exercising, how many calories you've burned, and even your blood pressure.

If you use these functions to monitor your vitals throughout your exercise, you'll get even more out of them. Some of them even feature in-built heart rate monitors. In this way, you can keep to a more reasonable and beneficial pace for yourself. Other fitness trackers record your workouts and calorie burn, allowing you to track your progress toward your goals over time.

Using an app, you can even sync your smartwatch's fitness data with your personal trainer's computer. Your trainer can use the data you provide to better adapt your workouts to your specific needs. This will mean you need to understand how apps work and what to do if the App Store won’t open on Mac, for example, but these things can be dealt with, and the usefulness of technology far outweighs any issues like this.

More Available Information

Before, you had to ask other people or read books to learn more about a disease. Technology has changed things for the better, so it's now easy to find answers to any health question. For example, you can find out what causes certain conditions with the help of technology. Not only that, but you can also use the internet and search engines to look for ways to treat it. In essence, you can find the answer to any question with just one click.

People with medical problems often look for answers on the internet. It not only makes you feel better, but it also helps when your doctor isn't around. Of course, it should never replace seeing a professional, and you will need a professional diagnosis, but if it helps you a little and you can gain some comfort from it, it can’t be a bad thing.

Makes You More Motivated

Keeping yourself motivated is an important part of any effort to improve your mental and physical health. You can find support from people who have been where you are now, whether that's an emotional low or a weight loss plateau, and use their tales as inspiration to keep going.

Through actions as simple as reading a blog, following an Instagram account, and sharing a post, the internet has created a community that can be used for good. You essentially have a support system for your pursuit of health and fitness right there in your phone or online whenever you need it.

Need More Motivation? You Can Have Music

Music is the only thing that can really get you going when you're working out, and technology has made it possible for many people to listen to their favorite songs while they work out or go for a run in the morning.

Why is listening to music while you work out a good idea? Listening to music while you work out not only keeps you from getting bored, but it can also help you work out better. It also gives you more stamina and makes you feel better.

You can listen to music while working out with many new devices and apps. Using an app on your phone, you can make your own workout playlist. You can pick music that will get you pumped up and ready to go. You can listen to these songs with wireless headphones that can also be used in the rain. You can even use these earphones when you're running or trying to concentrate at the gym. As you can see, there is a plethora of options that will allow you to use technology to bring music into your fitness efforts.

Communicate With Doctors

The health technology industry is thriving. Now, patients can have virtual visits with their primary care physicians and specialists. Chatbots can also be used on healthcare service websites to deliver instantaneous information and assistance to users around the clock.

Maintaining good health and making improvements requires open lines of communication with medical professionals. This reduces the overall number of questions people have about data found online (which, although useful, can be wrong, which is why a doctor is always needed, as we mentioned above). Plus, fewer people will have to wait in line for on-site appointments as a result. Also, the online staff can examine the symptoms and offer their opinions, enabling earlier treatment to be administered. By providing more information, technology helps patients feel less overwhelmed by their conditions.

You Can Track What You Eat

Your health can get better if you eat well. It makes your immune system stronger and helps you lose weight at the same time. When you lose weight, your chances of getting diseases like diabetes and heart disease go down. But many people find it hard to keep track of what they eat. Through apps and websites, technology has made it easier and more manageable to stick to your diet, which can help you improve your health.

You can keep track of calories and nutrients with a number of apps, for example, and once you know how much you eat, it's easier to see where you can make changes. For example, you can find out if you eat a lot of foods that are high in sugar or not. If so, try switching to better sources of carbs that are also healthier.

Final Thoughts

There are a lot of tools and apps that can help you get healthier, but you don’t need to try them all. It’s best to consider what you want out of your health and wellbeing and see if there is an app or website that will help you. If you try to do everything at once, it could become overwhelming, and you might end up doing nothing at all.

How to easily incorporate fitness into your life

It can be difficult to include fitness into your lifestyle for so many reasons. Maybe you have a full-time desk job a busy family lifestyle and multiple responsibilities to uphold in your life, and it so easy for something like fitness to fall by the wayside. Although we all know that being active is good for everyone and is essential to leading to a healthy, balanced and happy lifestyle it can be difficult to incorporate these habits into our lifestyles. It is not impossible though, and with a few changes here and there you can easily fit some fitness into your everyday life. Read on to find out how you can start leading a healthy lifestyle, and what kind of fun things you can try out.

Become More Organized

Fitting in fitness is difficult when you have so many responsibilities, but becoming more organized is a great way to fit some of your activities in. Knowing what you and your family are doing in the week when you are doing your weekly shop, and when you can fit in exercise or an activity will help you become more active. Try writing your weekly schedule down or organizing the calendar in your phone and figure out when you can go for a run or for a swim. This will help you fit things in, and can be a great way to kickstart that healthy lifestyle we all one.

Change Your Transport

Although many people need a car to get to work or drop the kids off at school in the morning, using alternative transport when you can help incorporate fitness into your lifestyle. Walking to the shops or to town can be a good way to do this or even cycling too. Although buying a bike or an adult tricycle can be an expense in the beginning, you will save money by not buying petrol as much and using your legs to power the bike! It can take a bit of time to get used to cycling on the roads or footpaths but once you know how to navigate the roads you will be cycling everywhere in no time at all. This can be a great way to get about and is an easy way to include some physical activity into your everyday life.

Move About More

This might seems like strange advice but we are all very used to sitting in one place without moving, so remembering to move around more can really help. This could be anything from making sure you walk around the office every half hour and stretch your legs, to taking the stairs or the long route to work when you have time. Going for a walk on your lunch break can be very beneficial to you and your body.

Here are just a few ways you can start to incorporate more moving and activity into your life. You don’t have to make any huge changes, you just need to plan your time more and do things a bit differently.

How To Make Fitness Fun'

Not many adults actually complete the recommended thirty minutes of physical activity every day. Many of us start the year with a fitness goal, which at first, we eagerly carry out by heading to the gym and eating healthity. However, after a while, our good intentions fade. Part of the problem is that exercise can often be boring and repetitive. But it doesn’t have to be.

There are lots of ways to embrace a more active lifestyle and make exercise more fun, whether you have a few minutes or a few hours to spare. Try some of these ideas to put the fun back into fitness.

Exercise With A Friend

If you find it hard to get out of bed in the morning for a session in the gym before work, or you’re very good at finding excuses to skip exercise after work, then fun a gym buddy. If you exercise with a friend, you can have more motivation, might have fun at the same time.

Join A Class

Instead of the usual gym classes, try something new. You could join a class in your local area, like dance lessons, yoga, spinning, Zumba, or swimming. You can have fun, and you might even make new friends in the process.

Exercise Without Realizing It

You don’t have to workout to improve your fitness. An hour of shopping can burn 175 calories, while an hour of housework can burn 191 calories. You shouldn’t skip the gym in favour of the mall, but there are lots of things that you can do to stay active that don’t feel like exercise. Go outside and do some gardening. Clear out the shed, do your housework, or a speed clean to burn some extra calories.

Reward Yourself

Give yourself a reward in return for the time you spend working out. You could put some money in a jar for every workout that you complete. At the end of the month, see how much you’ve made and use that money to treat yourself to something like a new piece of clothing or a meal out.

Download Some Apps

There are thousand of fitness apps out there to help you stay on track. You can monitor your workouts, what you eat, and how much water your drink, and also get tips, advice, and reminders. Browse some different apps and see which ones fit your goals.

Turn It Up Loud

Instead of trying to do your exercise in silence, make a playlist of upbeat songs that encourage you to get moving. There are lots of playlists out there already made for this purpose, or you could make your own with all your favourite tracks. Music can make exercise a lot more fun.

Watch TV

When you finish work, instead of going home to the TV, go to the gym, and watch your TV shows while you’re on the treadmill or the stationary bike. This way, you can get fit at the same time as watching your favourite shows.

Birthday gift ideas: the health freak edition

Treating a friend or relative on their birthday is one of the best feelings in the world. Seeing their face light up as they open the perfect gift truly underlines the fact that giving is better than receiving. But while most people are easy to buy for, fitness lovers can be notoriously difficult.

Many of the traditional ‘go to’ gifts are out, but that shouldn’t stop you getting something special. Here are five truly wonderful solutions.

Gift Box, Gifts, Packaging Box

Books Or Magazine Subscriptions

Anyone that is serious about their health and fitness will tell you that mentality plays a crucial role in their journey. Books like Life Fearless by Sadie Robertson can be a great option. While they may not deal directly with the fitness process, simply learning to train your mind can make a world of difference.

Or you could opt for a magazine subscription instead. Whether it’s one related to healthy cooking, running, or another sporting activity doesn’t matter. Each issue will feel like a new present.

Exercise Accessories

If the recipient is into a particular sport, they probably have their preferences on the main attire tied down. However, you can still treat them to accessories that can enhance their experiences. Upgrading to wireless headphones can make a telling impact on their runs or gym sessions. Belts with zipped compartments can help too.

If your friend or relative suffers from injuries like shin splints, thick insoles and compression socks can enter the agenda too. Those enhancements will be appreciated greatly.

Healthy Food

The days of buying chocolates and naughty treats are probably a thing of the past, even if your friend is happy to have a little cake on the day itself, perhaps even going for a Brunch Denver (or whichever area is closest) meal may be something they are very excited about splurging on. However, a happy birthday fruit basket can be equally tasty if they want to stick to their diet for longer. Better still, the esthetic beauty creates an even stronger message of love and well wishes. Alternatively, coffee machines and similar tools can serve them on a daily basis to become a part of their new rituals. If it makes their life a bit easier, it can only be a positive step.

Fruit Basket, Grapes, Apples, Pears, Strawberries

Tickets

There’s a strong chance that your fitness-loving friend or relative loves watching their favorite sport too. Whether it’s NFL, NBA, NHL, or MLS doesn’t matter. Getting tickets to a game can be a great present as it gives them something to actively look forward too. Moreover, it’s a great opportunity for you to spend time together.

Matches aren’t the only option, though. Stadium tours can be equally thrilling as it gives you a new perspective. One way or another, following the team is always a good option.

Recovery Items

Your loved one probably spends a lot of money and effort perfecting their exercise routines. In reality, though, their recovery is just as crucial for ongoing progress. Foam rollers are great for stretching out the muscles after (and before) a workout. Meanwhile, ice packs and even supplements can be useful.

Ultimately, you could always ask the recipient what they would like. Nonetheless, the element of surprise is always a critical factor. With these five ideas, you won’t go far wrong.

Effective solutions for a healthier life

Everyone wants to lead a healthier life, right? But actually getting out there and doing it, well that can be a bit more difficult. There are lots of things that can stop us from living optimally from our own minds to work obligations and even the equipment you do or do not use.

In this post, we’re going to deal with the latter and look at some simple product solutions that can make leading a healthier life a whole lot easier for the average person.

Water Bottles

They might be a pretty basic product, but they are undoubtedly an effective solution for maintaining better health. Why? Because dehydration can make you feel fatigued and thirst can make you feel hungry, which means if you don’t get enough water, not only may you feel less inclined to exercise, but you’ll probably feel even more inclined to overeat too. So, make sure you have a bottle and that you have it with you at all times. If you get one from Inter Branding you can even personalize it with your own name or a motivational slogan. Just make sure you sip regularly and never let yourself get dehydrated.

Water Filters

Of course, if you’re going to be drinking a lot of water, then you’re going to need a good water filter so that the old H20 tastes as good as possible. Use a brand like Britta and mix it with lemon or lime juice to give it some flavor and not only will you be fully hydrated throughout the day, but you also won’t feel quite so tempted to drink those sugary sodas to get a more refreshing taste.

Moisture Wicking Workout Clothes

One of the things that can make exercise uncomfortable for many people is the fact that it causes them to sweat, and if they're giving it all, the sweat is likely to be profuse. The good thing about moisture wicking clothing is that it will stop you from feeling all sweaty and gross so that you can keep on going for longer and longer periods of time.

Fitness Trackers

Some people consider fitness trackers like the Fitbit or Garmin to be little more than a weight loss and fitness fad, but if you’re a certain kind of person, they can be a really effective solution for a healthier life. For one thing, they enable you to see what you are actually doing right or (wrong) but much more importantly, they allow you to monitor your progress and even compete against friends and family members. Used as a motivational tool and a measure of your current fitness, they are fantastic at pushing you further and ensuring that you get the results you really want.

Omron Evolv

The Omron Evolv is a really great health-based gadget that enables you to check on the status of your blood pressure wherever you are whenever you want to. It is wireless, and it even lets you share your results with friends, family members and doctors, so if you have problems in that area, or you’re new to exercise, and you want to be careful about what you’re doing, it can be amazingly useful.

The Gourmia Soup Maker

There are few foods that are healthier than soup made fresh in a Gourmia Soup Maker. Soups are typically low in calories and high in water and fiber content, which means that they keep you fuller for longer and fill you with nutrients. The benefit of using this solution to make your own soup is that you can 100 percent control what ingredients are going into your soup so that you don’t end up eating too much sodium, for example, and you can experiment with different flavors, so you don’t get bored.

If you eat a small portion of soup before your main meal, it will fill you up enough that you don’t eat so many calories overall, and this is a real boon for those of you who are looking to watch your weight without going without.

Kettlebells

If you want to lose weight, tone up and keep your heart healthy, then there are few better tools to help you achieve this aim than the kettlebells. This effective exercise solution, which looks a bit like a cannonball with a handle, can be swung and lifted in various ways to burn fat, build muscle and make you stronger and it will do wall this in just three 20 minute sessions per week. Just make sure that you get initial training for a qualified kettlebell instructor, so you know how to work them without injuring yourself!

Baking Soda

Why is baking soda on the list? Not because cakes are an important part of a healthier lifestyle (although the occasional one certainly makes life easier), but because along with lemon juice and white vinegar, it is an excellent natural cleaning agent that will remove nasty odors and stains with ease. Use it instead of those nasty-chemical laden cleaning agents that you find in the grocery store and you will breathe more easily and according to some studies lower your risk of getting various cancers in the future.

Headspace

Headspace is an excellent app available for Android, IoS and your computer, which teaches you how to practice mindfulness meditation. If you live a fast-paced, stressful life, it is a great tool, which will enable you to get some...well headspace, learn how to calm your mind, fight off stress, soothe depression and generally just get through your days with a little more ease than you’re currently used to.

If you add as many of these effective solutions for a healthier life into your life and you use them on a regular basis, you will see results; whether you want to lose weight, maintain it, lower your blood pressure or improve your mental health, these things will help you to meet your goal, and probably even surpass it. They might not all be suitable for you, but where they are, make sure you use them - your health is the most important thing you have.

Use A Positive Attitude To Improve Your Health'

When it comes to your health, it’s important to have an optimistic outlook. Setting goals to improve your health and wellbeing can help you develop better habits that can lead to permanent lifestyle changes.

But if there’s one thing to learn about becoming fit and healthy, it’s that it’s hard work! There are times when you’ll want to give up, and even slip up from time to time, and that’s where a positive attitude can keep you pushing forward.

Find out more about using a positive attitude to improve your health.

Set smaller goals alongside your larger ones

Setting health and fitness targets is easy. It can be as simple as ‘I want to run a marathon’, or ‘I want to lose xx lbs’. But big goals can take a long time to achieve, and if you’re impatient or you like to see results quickly, you can feel demotivated early on in the process.

So while it’s important to set large goals for yourself, it’s also important to set yourself smaller ones. To help you achieve your fitness goals, plot out smaller milestones you know you can achieve, such as training x number of times a week or being able to run a mile without stopping. Achieving these smaller goals will keep you motivated, helping you work your way towards the larger ones.

Work on building up your energy

When you’re feeling tired and sluggish, it’s easy for the negativity to creep in. But have you noticed when you’re full of energy, you feel much more upbeat and positive? By working on improving your energy levels, you can help yourself develop a much more positive mindset.

One of the ways you can increase your energy levels is to move more. It’s not easy when you’ve got kids to look after or you’re sat at a desk all day, but a little effort to move around can do wonders for your energy!

Choose exercises that lift you

Exercise has a wonderful way of giving you a lift. The endorphins that come from exercise are amazing mood boosters, which can leave you feeling amazing after a particularly tough workout. Choose workouts that are challenging and help you work hard - HITT sessions and group training can be great for this. When you do the same fitness routines over and over again, things will start to become stale, so it’s important to mix it up so that you can keep pushing yourself and keep up the motivation you need to reach your goals.

Have an open mind

There is new research all the time around health and wellbeing, and trying new things can help you find new ways of developing healthier habits and developing a more positive mindset. You can keep an open mind on different fitness techniques, cannabis culture and all kinds of methods for focusing on your health. There are a lot of resources out there to help you do your research so that you can find the practices that work best for you.

Don’t punish yourself for setbacks

It’s easy to be hard on yourself after a setback. From not going to the gym for a week to indulging in more snacks than you usually would, it’s not worth beating yourself up over. Having this negativity can cause your problems to worsen, which could see you giving up altogether. Instead, learn to bounce back from a setback so that you can turn things around and try again. We all go through tough times in our lives, but that doesn’t mean you have to give up on the bigger picture.

Surround yourself with positive influences

Being around other positive people can lift you up. From those whose happiness is contagious to those who are always willing to support you, these are the people you need in your life as you try to reach your goals. Even the people you follow online can impact your positivity, so make sure you choose positive influences who you can learn a lot from. There are some amazing, supportive online communities out there with people from all walks of life who are ready to share support and cheer you on.

Your health is one of the most important things in your life, and anything you can do to improve your health will be worth it. By maintaining a positive attitude, you’ll feel more energetic and ready to challenge yourself, making it easy for you to reach your goals and change your mindset for life.
