Ghost Boy- Review

Martin Pistorius was an active little boy, until the day his body began to inexplicably deteriorate. Within 18 months, Martin was completely non-responsive, spending his days strapped into his wheelchair, staring into nothingness.

Martin provides us with such an immense insight into the value of life, one that doctors washed their hands of, one doctors said should be left to die, a life people thought worthless, a life many objectified and abused. Just imagine being fully cognizant, inside your own body, but unable to communicate in any manner, no sounds, no movements, nothing, a "vegetable". Martin knew God was real and with him in the darkness just as he knew God knew he, Martin, was real. With God's presence, he persevered until one day a caregiver convinced others that there was more to Martin than they all thought. An inspiring story of love and the preciousness of all life. A must read!!

5 TIPS FOR SINGLES ...

I usually only share Married couple stuff but I came across a single's blog and I realized I need to post some encouragement for those of you who are not married because I know it can be lonely. I also know I have some single friends that read here, well today this is for you.

1. Love when you're ready, not when you're lonely. Don't just settle for someone.
2. A bitter person will say, "All men/women are the same." A wise single person will quit picking the same type of person.
3. If you're going to make love to that person you're in love with, doing it wearing the safest thing ... a wedding ring.
4. Your self-worth shouldn't be defined by your Facebook relationships status. Whether your "in a relationship" or "single" God loves you a TON. Base your self-worth on that.
5. Satchel Paige said, "Love like you've never been hurt." Taking your past hurts into your new relationship will sabotage it from the beginning.

Weekend Recap

Friday:
My day started early for a day off.. my dr wanted me to go for a full blood work as she had found some pre cancerous cells so she wanted to check everything.
Then I had to go see her after my blood work- thankfully all blood work came back ok and nothing to worry about.
She was worried about other issues though- I have not been feeling so great since Monday- I thought it was a case of gastro bug, but she was thinking it was something  serious with my bowels and wanted me to go for more tests at the hospital but I thought I would come home and try more fluids but by 6 pm I knew I needed to go to the Emergency and see what they thought.
So I got triaged and they took me right into a bed- they started an IV for fluids and I waited for the dr,  he ran some tests and he told me nothing showed up with my bowels and it was a case of bad food poisoning and bad dehydration.. it was a relief to know nothing more was wrong.

Saturday:
I woke up and I was feeling so much better after getting the fluids… I cleaned the house after a week of not feeling up to doing anything, sleeping a lot and no energy at all..  it was good to be able to clean.  Hubby and I went into town after that and picked up a couple of groceries that I needed.
Moses came for dinner and we watched hockey. Cristie was going to come over after dinner but she wasn't able to make it, she has been working a lot and needed to rest.

Sunday:
It was our assistant pastors last sunday with us, our full time pastor is leaving on June 14th,

I don't do well with good byes at all, but they are staying close to the area so I may see them again sometime soon.
I had my pastors kids over for the afternoon, we had fun, went to Mcdonalds for a ice cream before the PM service.

These kids are gonna be missed so much, but I am looking forward to creating new relationships with our new Pastor and his wife.
Cristie came over for nachos and we took selfies

Just look how beautiful my best friend is

Have a great week friends

7 GROUND RULES FOR ARGUING WITH YOUR SPOUSE...

I know we all will fight and argue in marriage or any relationship, but we need some rules in place if we are going to argue
1. Respect your spouse.
2. Never threaten divorce. NEVER!
3. Don't bring up your spouse's past mistakes. Forgive & move on.

4. Listen more than you talk.

5. Don't lose your temper. It never helps anything.
6. Don't try and "win" the argument. You're on the same team.
7. Seek first to understand ... and then to be understood.

Anxiety

Some days I wake up entirely sad, mainly days that I don't work, it feels like the weight of the world is on my shoulders....
The night before when I went to bed, every thing was good, hubby and I didn't fight, Brooke and I were ok so why this some mornings.

This morning for example I woke with a heavy heart and was incredibly nervous that there was someone in my house..... It's crazy because all three doors and windows were locked... It is really hard when you have moments like this.  It just takes over your heart(makes it heavy), your mind(causing it to go crazy) and emotionally because you are full of tears and very weepy ( or is that just me)

I had enough so I wanted to research it ....

Most cases of morning anxiety are simply generalized anxiety. You wake up feeling anxious or stressed about your day, but otherwise you don't necessarily have specific attacks or actions. You're simply stressed every time you wake up.

Morning anxiety is actually a bit easier to understand, because it's not necessarily its own type of anxiety. Rather, it's a reaction to anxiety that has its basis in a number of potential causes. I have found a few ways to stop morning anxiety. Consider taking a natural supplement, like CBD capsules, to help support your mental health and wellbeing during the day. Daily exercise has been shown in studies that morning exercise, such a short jog, has been shown to improve your overall mood. It's because after a night sleep we have built up energy and we need to get it out. Finally, remove all the daily stresses you can - you need to make sure you are happy to face the day. But what other methods are there for relieving anxiety in the mornings?

  • A) Make work fun - if work stresses you, find a way to make work fun
  • B) getting out there - if you find you do not feel as if you are getting out there enough or having enough fun
  • C) Relationship Troubles- Those with relationship issues should be making sure they're addressing them as well. Sitting around and hoping things will change is foolish. If you're so stressed during the day that you're waking up with anxiety, then you need to make changes right away if you want your morning anxiety to go away.

Positive Thinking Exercises
Similarly, morning anxiety suffers from a problem of negative thinking. You're waking up assuming that your day is going to be stressful, and you experience anxiety as a result. You may not even realize this assumption is occurring, but it's one of the key factors in creating this idea that you should feel anxious to start the day.
So you may need to try some positive thinking exercises.
  • Positive Journaling – One thing to do is write in a journal every night or every morning where all you write about are the genuinely great things that have happened to you or will happen to you.
  • Affirmations – Affirmations are not for everybody, but they can be effective. Affirmations are positive phrases that you repeat to yourself when you're feeling down.
  • Morning Notes – You can do this yourself, or have a partner do it for you, but another thing you can try is waking up every morning with a positive note posted somewhere around the house.
  • Goal Setting – Finally, make sure that you're setting goals for yourself, with numerous sub-goals listed along the way. Each sub goal should have a date that you're gunning for, with everything planned out on a calendar.

Finally, the most obvious step is to address your overall anxiety. So many people look for a quick fix when it comes to controlling their anxiety, but just doing these steps will not cure your anxiety over night, it is a daily process and one that we do not have to carry alone. There are  many people out there that are willing to help us
