Weekend Recap

Friday:
Had a much better day then the day before and I felt much more ready to take on the day.
I had invited some friends over for a ham dinner- served: Ham, mashed potato, maple glazed carrots, corn, bread rolls and gravy. Apple Pie and ice cream for dessert, it was really good especially for working all day :)
Had a chat with Diane( co worker) til much to late and watched Grey's

Saturday:
Slept in a bit, got some tea and began our day, we took a drive to a little town about 30 mins from here, the view was so nice

They have the electrical Dam there, I am into pictures of these types of things.
We also stopped at the Frostival, it was super cold but all kinds of activities, yummy good, a market type place

I wish this picture wasn't blurry, Brooke was so excited to get her picture taken with Olaf, Elsa and Anna
Did some shopping, got a new book to read and a couple groceries
Took a nap and watched Hockey and greys

Sunday
Didn't make it to church in the morning, the new medication had me in bed and too sick, I did relax most of the day but went to the PM service, after service went to Mcdonalds- why do I eat that at night, I'm not sure, but it was really good.

Have a great week, I have a busy one coming up.

Book Review- Nourished

When I read the description on the back of the book Nourished: A Search for Health, Happiness, and a Full Night’s Sleep by Becky Johnson and Rachel Randolph, I was intrigued because I knew that I needed a little more nourishing and balanced lifestyle.

As you begin this book, pour yourself a cup of something warm, You will feel like you are right with the authors~ Becky Johnson and Rachel Randolph, they make you feel like you are in the room with them.
This mother and daughter duo will have give your mind some nourishing tips
Here are some of their tips:
 1) Divvy up your days of the week into work days, "stuff" days, and free days.
2) Pair dreaded tasks with pleasant experiences to make them more palatable.
3) Keep a list of quick and easy menus to get you through those "can't think of a thing for dinner" days.
4) Drape your "less than best" assets in black and don't fret about your shape.

I would give this book a 5 thumbs up

Confessional Friday

Another week, another time for a good confession time.
Linking up with Leslie

1) I am over winter- I have had more then enough, this girl feels like she is getting cabin fever, I have not been outside since Sunday except for about an hour last night when I went to kid’s church, but I need some warm weather to go for a long walk and soak in some vitamin D.  We got 5 storms in 10 days and I am ready for Spring, Summer and Fall but no Winter

2) I have been fighting a lot of anxiety and panic attacks, not sure where this came from- as it has never been this bad, but work is so stressful.

3) I am so thankful to all  you who prayed for my niece on Monday when she had her final mouth surgery, she came through with flying colours and is back to her playful self and picking on her sister ;)

4) I am still watching Grey’s and still loving it more and more, I do not want it to end.

5) Ya know what really bugs me- friend A- fb msgs me and ask me to lend her $1000, I say no as I don’t think friends should lend friend money.. fast forward a few days… Friend A fb again and and ask for $100, i did lend the $100 but I am not making this a habit at all.

Decorating on a budget

When i moved into this house, all I wanted to do was to decorate the master bedroom, to make it cozy and romantic, something like this:

I would like to have a bedroom like this, but without the yellow, i was thinking red/grey/black.

I love the chairs at the bottom of the bed though, it just looks so inviting, so us, so romantic.

If you are on a budget, you can find gorgeous furniture at different places such as Thrfit stores, yard sales,  furniture outlets, the dollarama here as alot of awesome wall hangings etc.

This is what I want to use for decor

You can fix it up to make it look perfect with a good cleaning, some scrubbing, some painting, and you can have the pieces you want for cheap, cheap cheap.

Here are some things to remember when you are decorating on a budget

1) Search your city for yard sales, and auctions - You do not have to break the bank for furniture to look nice.

2)  Create a perfectly sized area rug without breaking the bank. Any carpet dealer can cut and bind regular broadloom carpet to a custom size.

3) Make your storage places stylish - we all need it so why not make it beautiful

4) Use up all the scraps, you can make beautiful things from the scrap

5) Decorate for you and your family- Don't worry about what the neighbours has, do what you want.

6) Dont be in a hurry, shop around until you find what you are looking for, dont be in a hurry and not be happy with the turn out.

7) Have fun- don't do things if it isn't fun, what is the point if your not happy, you wont like the decor.

In the End, be happy with your room, you are the one who is living there after all.

Christ Centered marriage

Marriage is such a sacred union it's used many times in the Scriptures to describe that high and holy relationship between Christ and His church.

The husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church, as the church is subject to Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing.
Husbands are to love their wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it so ought men to love their own wives.
Husbands ought to nourish and cherish their wives just like Christ loves and cherishes the church.
Men ought to leave their fathers and mothers and cleave to their wives.
Wives are to respect their husbands.

Worship and serve God faithfully.  “Heirs together of the grace of life,” I Peter 3:7.

Pain

How I'm doing

Mentally- it is taking it' toll on me.  I know there are people in the world who just got news they have cancer etc,  there are people who just got news their loved ones have passed.... People have said " I look okay", yeah I may look ok on the outside, physically inside I'm broken, my bladder is broken, I do not live a normal life because this disease controls how I feel, controls if I 'can' be social or not, there are times I really want to but I cannot force myself out of bed.  My bad days are entered around hot Epsom salt bath, lots of medication, heating pads, there is also days of missing work  and this off course could result in losing my job.....

I used to be a happy person, a person who loved to laugh, loved to be with friends and was not stressed at all....
Now I'm usually stressed because I never know when pain could come, it can be caused by certain foods or drinks
No spicy foods, no tomato sauce, no salsa, no caffeine, no flavored (fruit)juices, no orange juice, no oranges, no pizza, nuts, salad dressings, no breads except rye because of the white or whole wheat flours, no rice
That leaves very little that I can eat or drink , here is a more detailed list

Emotionally- I feel like I fail as a wife- my hubby did not have a sick wife when he married her, I have not been sick with this- no he does not complain, but being intimate and then have paid, really scares ya away from being in the mood.... sorry for the TMI

Last monday I saw a new doctor- she prescribed a new medication that has to be sent from the US, it has a lot of scary side effects but I am willing to try it. She is hopeful that it will work for me, it freezes the bladder and takes the pain away, it is better then the other medication they have me on.

Thank you for those who asked about me, it means a lot
