Mis- Diagnosed

For the past 2 years I have been fighting IC ( my story here ), well fast forward to a month ago, I was scheduled an appointment out of town for a Pelvic ultrasound because more and more symptoms were no longer leading to IC, they wanted to take a look around and see what could be found, IC is seldom detected by a pelvic ultrasound.. but other things are found

Then today I finally get to see her to talk about the Ultrasound...
so with tears in her eyes she gave me this News

for
2
years
I
have
been
mis-dignosed

then I cried...

Yes I have been getting all 56 weeks of treatments and now it is over..
all the money I have spent on medication.... it is now over

I was very upset and angry when she first told me, here they were ready to take my bladder and give me a bag on my side..

Come to find out I have been misdiagnosed and would have been without my bladder for the rest of my life and still have pain...

What is next for me and my health?
Well tomorrow I am seeing a new doctor to see if I have Endometrosis

Then we will go from there and move on to a pain free life.

Thank you so much for all your care and concern during my time with IC, it is good to have that stage of my life over and move on to a new diagnosis.

  1. Oh dear, I am so sorry to hear you have been treated for the wrong thing for so long. Totally relieved to also hear they did not remove your bladder. I hope the end is near for your suffering.

  2. Thank God they found out before your bladder was removed!!! I'm really sorry you were misdiagnosed though, Terri. :( I hope some light is shed on what's going on here for sure, soon!!

  3. Oh sweetie! That really sucks! I am so sorry. I had it, and they removed my uterus for it and I have been so much better. Still have some issues, but nothing like before. I am so glad they caught this before they did any surgeries. I assume they have found some cysts? Love you amd hang in there. Melody

  6. That must be very frustrating! They always say to get a second opinion. I'm glad they realized it sooner rather than later!
